What Iguana Mia lacks in curb appeal they compensate for with a welcoming environment, friendly staff, and excellent food. Â We started with margaritas that were cheap and shockingly large. Â
The server brought out complimentary nachos and an arrangement of salsas, including a habenero-laden spicy variety that was quite delicious, although not for the faint of heart.
I ordered the beef flautas (as I normally do at Mexican-style restaurants if offered) and was not disappointed. Â Served with the usual cohorts of refried beans, rice, and house salsa. Â The beef was shredded into small enough pieces as to avoid the diner from having to laboriously process each bite - a seemingly forgettable extra, but once you experience the alternative it no longer becomes a moot point. Â The dough was light and crispy and served with a glaze of cheddar, cilantro, and sauce - all of which went superb with the mildly smoked and spiced beef.
Definitely a 4/5 stars and a way point on my next trip through the area.
