The bar is huge, outside during the mid afternoon-evening hours is relaxing. In the heat they provide great misters to get you to chill. The food is great, the waitress (some) aren't as efficient but that's because they give everyone a chance to start somewhere. The owner is awesome - will do anything for anyone.
I came in years ago before they remodeled and the service and food were great, now coming back years later I am a fan. Also, a major bonus they have free poker 4x a week.
Saw this place as we were driving by and decided to try it out. The place is clean and the people were friendly. we ordered a sampler place and the food was yummy. Love that they have lots of tv's and have two megatouch games and a stage for bands.
The last time we stopped they were having 80's night and everyone was dressed up, really fun however seeing your bartender doing pelvic thrusts behind the bar was  not something you expect to see at a bar. That particular day the service wasn't that great, they were to busy working out.
We stop here sometimes when we wonder off our beaten path and decide to go to Golden. Â This is a big place with lots of tables and a huge bar, and a huge outside bar. Â The service is usually friendly, the beers are cold and the wings are good. Â I will say that I'm pretty confused about what's going on with the huge place. Â There's usually around 6-8 people in there. Â I don't know if we go on the wrong days, or at the wrong times, I just don't know when this place is actually busy. Â I can't see that my beer and wings are keeping the lights on, but I'm glad that they must have a busy time so I can stop in when I want to :)
Review Source:Made my annual pilgrimage to In the Zone yesterday to see if it had evolved into the kind of top flight sports bar it so easily could be.
Sadly, it has not.
More than 60 great flat screen TV's adorn every piece of available wall space, so trying to find the game you want should be a breeze.
Unfortunately, that's not the case.
Case in point: got there as the Michigan/Illinois game was in the first of three OT periods in a game that featured the most points in Michigan history. The game could be found, if you looked REAL hard, on a single smaller TV off in one corner.
It took 5 minutes to get our first beer and asking for a particular game , and I'm talking about the day's marquee game:LSU/Alabama, got us that game 5 minutes later, on one screen.
This place COULD be the premier sports bar on the west side of town with a little effort: someone to program the TV's so you could see the top games without asking and any other game you want by asking-without the attitude or delay.
It's called customer service.
I'll be back next year, fingers crossed, but not expecting much.
What a shame.
First things first: this place sells thongs. With its name and logo on them.
We stopped in because we're on a mini-dive bar tour. However, I would not, in any universe, consider In the Zone a dive bar. This place is fricking gigantic. It's clean, it doesn't smell bad, and everyone was friendly.
We sat outside on the patio, which (besides the wafting Coors Fart smell) was spacious and very nice. Our waitress left without telling us, and it took a while (like...at least 30 mins) before our new waitress figured out that we were outside. Whoops. Wasn't a big deal, but we were running low on beer at that point.
We didn't eat anything, although I've heard the wings are good. When we go back and try some food, I'll adjust the star rating.
They've got a lot of TV's...
Otherwise...Meh. Â Went here on St. Patrick's Day. Â No specials on Guinness?? Really?! Â Add to that the promo girls skipped our table and I marked that pretty lame (not the bar's fault I guess, but still, that's garbage)
To their credit they had a live band, but you couldn't hear them...
Nachos were okay, shave $2 off the price and add Guacamole and Sour Cream and you've got something.
Might go back one day in the summer and see if things improve.
Nice sports bar lots of space 80+ flat screens. Standard bar fare type menu the prices are very reasonable. Pizza, burgers, salads and wings. Judging from the Bike Only parking area this is a hangout for the two wheel crowd but not on the day I was here. Outside patio looked great but too cold for us to give it a try.
Review Source:First off, let me say that we will go back to In The Zone, despite the problems we had there. Â
Our waitress was a) inattentive, b) untrained and c)obviously had never been a waitress before. Â She brought out one of our orders well before the others, so only one person had food. Â Then she brought out our pizza before bringing out plates / napkins / silverware. Â After our meal we had to move our dirty dishes to an empty table because she never came back to collect them and the tables are quite small (and very wobbly). Â
We had to ask more than once for basic things, like MENUS.
I had to send my meal back because the taco basket I ordered came loaded with jalapenos..which was not indicated on the menu.
We had several friends join us at different times throughout the night and at the end of the evening, found out that she had added ALL of their food and drinks to our tab. What a mess.
The food is pricey and sub-par at best. Â The pizza was mushy and the taco meat was the consistency of sawdust.
All that being said, the place has a ton of good beers on tap and the band (Revolution) was fantastic. Â Next time we will eat before we go and not have to worry about anything except our pitcher of beer being refilled now and then.
We were looking for a place near downtown Golden to watch UFC events when we found In the Zone. Â There are more TVs in this place than any other sports bar I've been in, and so it is great for watching PPV events. Â The food is better than one would expect at a sports bar, and the waitresses are prompt when staffed adequately. Â They were a little under staffed at the last event we attended. Â Hopefully they will up their waitress count next time. Â We have been to 3 events here so far, and we will definitely return.
Review Source:In The Zone has more televisions than a teenager has pimples the week before prom. Â And their wings are absolutely to die for. Â Try the garlic parmesan wings. Â Yeah, they mix the garlic and parmesan with wing sauce. Â And yeah, they're still hot. Â The stupidly hot wings will make you wet yourself, so if you're going to try them please wear Depends. Â
This place is huge - and if there's someone there who you don't like, it's pretty easy to lose them. Â Just beware that the Coors sewage treatment plant is right out back, and if the wind is blowing right on a hot summer day... well the patio might not be your first choice. Â Otherwise I'd recommend this place to anyone - $2 Seagrams Vodka during happy hour. Â And yes, that includes all the flavors Seagrams makes, which is just about everything.
Well, after all the dive bars, sports bars, (excuse the expression) titty bars, and basic "hell holes" I've been in over the years (I never frequently frequented topless joints, just the occasional bachelor party or hanging out with my "biker" friends. Not really that entertaining for adults or otherwise and the beers were friggin' expensive.) but food was mostly marginal if it was even available (unless you count stale popcorn, nuts out of a machine, or scary things in pickle jars). Well there are always exceptions to any "norm" and this little sports bar in Golden on McIntyre and 44th ave is one of those. I don't know how they picked the location but it was rumored to have been funded by Coors in one way or another. Just your basic good bar food and also breakfast starting at 6:00am (they have a nightshift "happy hour" from 9:00am to 10:00am). The breakfast burrito is better than decent (although it's purported to have changed several times lately, a regular says it remains to be good) and the burger is big and juicy with good fries. I'll probably be back.
