Woody's Woodfired Pizza & Watering Hole

We love Woodys.  My parents live in Genesee and went there a ton while living home and had friends at Mines.  Now I live in Wheat Ridge and go with my kids.  Can't beat the pizza and salad bar.  And its awesome for kids.  Which brings me to why I only gave it 3 stars.  We went there last night - our family of four and another family of 5.  We got there about 7.  We put our name in with the blond girl who was sitting in what looked like a lifeguard chair, so that anyone speaking to her had to look up at her and her down at them.  So we got our name in and beacuse we had to drive 3 cars from soccer, I got there last.  When I asked how long the wait was, my husband went to inquire sine we had 5 hungry kids with us.  He went up and asked how long the wait was and her response was "it's a wait."  Huh.  Well, we weren't trying to be impatient, just wanted to gauge the wait with our hungry kids.  He asked for a ballpark and she threw her head back and said fine, she'd see if there was any way that any of the servers could gauge where their guests were, but she didn't think they could.  HUH???   So, she couldn't tell us if it was 10 mins or 2 hours.  I think the power of the seat got to her head.  I've been a patron for over 15 years and really don't expect that attitude from a college kid, especially when I'm with my kids.  So we went across the street to Table Mountain Inn where they were happy to have us.  Probably won't waste my time again.  The food is great, but the service sucks.

All I can say is - wow!  I'm impressed.  We came for the buffet which had salad, pizza and the best beer-cheese soup I've had.  I like that everything is earth-friendly.  The food was great from the salad, to the soup, to the pizza which was not in short supply.  Every time I went up, there was something new to try.  The price for the buffet was pretty reasonable too.  I can't wait to go again!
