I am not a bowling expert nor do I frequent multiple allies in Denver, but I do know this, I always have a great time with I go to Holiday Bowling & Billiards. The owners are always there and are extremely nice. The employees are all very kind and the crowd is casual and easy going. You won't be embarrassed if you make a few gutter balls, every does it! Holiday is everything a bowling alley should be-a little on the old side but clean, full of fun people, good music, strong drinks, and that bowling shoe smell. It's a nice break from some of the newer, "upscale" places that are more like glorified bars with a bowling alley stuck in the middle of it. Holiday is comfortable and unpretentious, just like your favorite pair of bowling shoes.
Review Source:Dang, not sure why the bad rating for this bowling alley. Â Yeah it's a little old, but I call that character. Â The $2 games and stiff drinks helped me get over that fact real quick! Â
This bowling alley is huge! There was tournament going on and I still was able to get a lane. Â I am somewhat of an avid bowler, so the faint of heart may be a little intimidated by these lanes at first, but as with all alleys the fun is easily had if you just get over yourself. Â
I don't get out to Lakewood very often, but I highly recommend this place to anyone that does. Â Good luck and high scores!
It's cheap to bowl, but the bartender refused to serve alcohol to our group because most of my friends are from out of state (college students). I'd bowled here a lot, as have my friends, and didn't appreciate being treated like this when we were all fairly regular customers. Most of us ended up leaving after just one game. I understand that the bartender made his best judgement, but I doubt I'll be back for quite some time, and definitely not with a large group.
