This place is overrated. It's a seedy bar in Van Nuys which normally should mean cheap drinks and trashy debauchery which are all things I am looking for in a typical Friday night. Everytime I've gone here the service has been slow. Like waiting for the bartender to look at you for over 15 mins when the bar isn't poppin slow. Plus the bartenders all kind of look like they hate their lives here.

Also no one wants to hear this crappy country band play in this Irish bar at midnight. Ambience is nice, it's a divey Irish bar filled with older patrons. Doesn't make up for the slow service. Maybe it's better during the week but I doubt I'll ever find out. This place has been a bust and has left me wishing I'd spent my money going somewhere else every time I've gone.

Alpha Bar - The letter I

    Ireland's 32

So, the name Ireland's 32 comes from the 32 counties of Ireland and thus I was transported deep into the county Kildare upon walking through the door, passed through Killkenny on my way to the bar, and camped out in the green hills of Tipperary as we found a table.  In a corner there were several musicians playing traditional Irish folk songs on their Uilleann pipes and mandolin.

    Except totally not.

Ireland's 32 is a dive bar.  I think I may have seen an Irish flag somewhere, and perhaps there was a map of Ireland on the wall and perchance there was Guinness and Harp on tap, but that's about it.  The rest was just, well, just a bar.

My Alpha Bar crew descended upon Ireland's 32 around 9 pm on a Friday night.  When I arrived a few of my party were already there, and I was presented with a shot of Jamison and a miller light upon walking in.  Good friends has I.

The layout of the place is Bar on left and tables on right, separated by a counter area you can sit at with stools.  The lighting was brighter than most bars, but I don't really have a problem with that.  Some bars just get too dark, and you don't know who you're talking to.  And here, you really wanted to know.

The clientele of Ireland's 32 skew slightly older.  And by slightly older I mean 40-60.  Our group of 25 to 35 year olds were perhaps the youngest bunch there.  Nothing wrong with that, but it seemed like some of the patrons had been fixtures there for years, and the stools at the bar were perfectly contoured so that only they could sit in them.

The Drinks are cheap.  This is a good thing.   My tab was 30 dollars and I was there four hours, and buying my associates drinks.  Definitely a place to go for inexpensive drinking, which may be why some of the clientele seem like they've been there since 1970.  They can afford to.

And there is a kitchen as well, and that kitchen will swerved you only the best in Fried food. French Fires and mozzarella sticks are always good for soaking up your very affordable whiskey.

But the place just didn't feel like an Irish pub, like the name would indicate. There were no steel tip dart boards that I could see, which is  clear indicator of an Irish or English pub, in my opinion.  There was a golden tee from 1998 there and I think perhaps a galaga arcade game.  And there was live music....but it was country music.  COUNTRY MUSIC!  I nearly spit my bit and galloped out of there.  And this country band played a Pouges song, because, as they noted, they were ostensibly in an Irish bar.  But they countrified it.  I'll take extremely annoying for 1000, Alex.

Well, there you have it.  Cheap drinks, older clientele, greasy food, country music.  Everything you'd expect out of an Irish pub.  Maybe they should change their name to Valley's 40, for the 40 communities in the San Fernando Valley.  Because that's what this was.  This place is your quintessential Valley Bar.  And rating it as such, I like it a lot.  It's not really an Irish bar, but that's okay.  Not many bars in the valley are, and really, most people don't really care about all that.  They want cheap drinks, people they know, and comfort food.  This place supplies all three.  And, apparently, country music. Well, nobody's perfect.  Four stars.

Stay tuned, as our next foray into the alpha bar gets a little racy for the Letter J.  A little bird has told me we'll be going to Jumbo's Clown room.  Gods help us all.

I've been here twice, and twice my boyfriend has had awkward interactions with the bartender. Two different bartenders, actually. It wasn't anyone's fault... either time. Just one of those things that happens that you laugh and write reviews about later.

This place has green lightbulbs. I've only ever seen green lightbulbs around Halloween time, but Dan assured me that green just means Irish. Fair enough. Weird lighting usually creeps me out. I don't like when normal things are changed up to be weird things. Like how the world Alice encountered through the looking glass was all topsy turvy, and everyone was flipping insane. She couldn't have a rational conversation with a single damned character in that place... and that might be my second worst nightmare outside of having to dress up like a dog and read picture books to children.

None of that really reflected my experiences here, but it needed to be said somewhere.

I was able to look past the green lightbulbs, and enjoy this place for what it was - a funny little dive bar. Look at me using words like "dive bar." I'm growing up. Anyhow, the bartender on our first visit was especially friendly, and was actually the reason we ended up deciding to go back. We took our bedroom bound roommate on the second trip for an after dinner beer, and had a pretty cool time. There was a band setting up and doing sound check, and there was a crowd beginning to gather... So, I mean... I have nothing else to say about that. I'm sorry if I mislead you.

In conclusion, the boys in my life liked the place. My brother would like it, too, if he would just decide to be awesome and come visit his little sister in the valley. Come on, Thomas. They have Guiness on tap.

Memorable  - because their St. Patty's menu was pathetic. They only offered four items.Turkey sandwich was a slab of turkey in between two pieces of white bread, with packets of mustard and mayo on the side. C'mon guys: you can do better than this! Their ale was great, the entertainment was fine if the amplification was too loud but we can forgive that. Very friendly staff. Offer a decent menu on St. Patty's, please.

Haven't been here for years, but it hasen't changed much.  Made me homsick for my Portland where I am always requested to sing "When Oirish eyes are smiling" with inhales from a Helium Baloon~~~~*
But me favorite Irish tune is from the darkest days of English occupation when neighborhoods and families were torn apart by scurilous "Informers" who would turn in a fellow Irishman for a few 'Ha-pennies.  The Brits would then sentence the Perpetrator to an "Indeterminent Sentence" in prison for violating "Sedition Laws".  The British even levied laws agains the singing of Irish Patriotic songs!!!  (Forbiding an Oirishman from SINGING, REALLY??)  Ye might as well outlaw breathin AIR!!!  So (of course) the Irish made up this song:

"If you want to be singin' 'bout somethin'.
Don't sing about you know what.
For you know who may be listenin',
and He'll tell you know whom.
They'll send you off to you know where,
For you don't know how long.
So you want to be singin' 'bout ~Nothing~,
    Whenever your singin' this song!!"

    Whoo-whooooo..  Happy Saint Paddy's Oirish!!

I love a good dive, and this is as divey as it gets.  The drinks are strong and cheap, the Guinness is poured right, and the staff are an unruly bunch of  characters that you just won't find anywhere else.  We wandered in one night, looking for an ordinary bar and grill to have a burger and a beer at. It just so happened that it was a Sunday that day, and they were having karaoke that night. One time and we were hooked. I hope this place is still there in 30 years.

WOW can I just say as my first time here and on a Tuesday night I had a blast. Great vibe, crowd was friendly. Ended up playing team darts for beer, won one and lost one, broke even in the end with a nice buzz going.
Oh and it was karaoke night, I'm used to people 3 sheets to the wind drunk and singing off key in other karaoke places, here, these patrons have mad vocals. At one point I thought, this guy must be lip syncing, nope!

Got completely crocked but had a great time! I will never underestimate this real Irish pub again, I'll be back. Try the Harp beer, I love it.

I was hanging out with a buddy of mine yesterday drinking beers at his house. My boyfriend Nick calls me and wants to meet up at Ireland's 32. My friend Matt and I had never been here but Nick used to play shows here all the time. So, he knows and loves the place.

When we got there, the outside of the building is nothing special but once we walked inside, I was pleasantly surprised! It was not too busy. They have a nice sized bar with a decent selection of beers and liquors. They have a dance floor and stage area for live music.

Matt, Nick and myself started off with a Magner's Apple Cider. DELISH. I am now hooked on hard apple cider thanks to my beer snob boyfriend. Then Nick and I had some Guinness. Then I had a Jack and Coke to finish off the evening.

The prices are pretty reasonable. I just really LOVE the atmosphere of this place.
    I will be visiting again.

I moved down a block away from this place and was excited to have a neighborhood bar so close, but now I can say I won't be going there again.

I really gave this place a chance, as I used to work in the service industry and have great compassion for servers and bartenders, and know that many, many things can happen on any given day for something to go wrong or be delayed.  My first visit there, the bar was practically empty and I sat down at the bar to order a ham and cheese sandwich.  Well, it took a good 30 minutes for the bartender to take my order.  And then another 25 mins for my food.  Still not that big of a deal, as I was in good company.  When the order came, however, they had forgotten the ham - one of the three ingredients needed to make a ham & cheese.  Um, ok.  So I sent it back.  Waited another 20 mins.  When my sandwich returned, it had ham in it.  Cold ham.  It was obvious they just opened the sandwich and put ham from the fridge in it.  And that took 20 mins.

I chalked it up to problems in the kitchen, and I did go back twice more just to give it another shot, but both times, the service was incredibly slow for a dive bar.  I can't recommend this place at all.

Dropped in one Friday night with a couple of friends. Nice local joint for a few beers and live folk music. The crowd is a bit older. Divey place. Beer selection was decent. We ordered some food and that was good. The band came on, crowd got excited, people started dancing. All in all, good vibes. You can park on Burbank Blvd. or in the neighborhood. I probably wouldn't come back here unless I was in the area but to the locals? Get your fix!

Went here recently to watch some football and from the outside I wasn't expecting much, but it turned out to be a cute neighborhood bar. Nothing fancy, but I liked the wooden tables and their big screen t.v. Me and my husband ate some chicken wings that were decent for bar food and we both said that we would be back. People were nice, and the prices were more than fair. It may be considered a "dive", but it's not bad when you just want to hang out and not be bothered.

Fish and Chips are FANTASTIC ... It's one of my favorite items to order anywhere. This is the BEST place I have found anywhere for Fish & Chips and the price is the most fair I have found anywhere.. (I have tried over 25 places).. Also, they have live music all the time, 5 or 6 nights. The Music is always good.
One negative, the bands are supposed to start at 9:30 and at 10 or after 10, they still aren't going.... very annoying.
The people are nice, the cooks are great, and it's a really good place to hang out.
They have Smithwicks on tap which I love.

My wife and I went there for the music, we heard great things about the band, Preston Smith and the Crocodiles. What a show that was, but it was made all the better by the great folks here at pub. Kevin welcomed us as if we were old friends and settled us in with drinks and some fine fish and chips.

The night progressed and Jennifer kept our glasses filled with a smile and pleasant "drive by" conversation as she worked the very busy and very happy room. The place was packed, feet were tapping, folks were dancing, and a good time was had by all. What fun!!!!

The ambiance was great, the food was great, the staff were great, the patrons were great, and the music was awesome. Can you tell I liked it? If my eloquent words don't convince you, the fact that we drove two hours each way to get there and back should. The only complaint I have is that this awesome pub is so far away. Even so we'll be back often.

Been here a couple of times and it was okay.  The bartender is a nice (Irish) guy, but it gets SO busy there, especially later on at night.  He could use some back up.

But in any case, any live music they've had playing when I visited was awesome.  Folk, irish folk, country, alt country, and maybe some southernish rock.  And the drinks aren't too terribly expensive.

I've been here twice, both were dates. Both were karaoke nights. The first time I sat at the bar with my date and made small talk while watching people sing. Our bartender was a gentleman who was very attentive and charming. The crowd was youngish and pretty chill. People seemed friendly and I enjoyed the singing. No sloppy drunks that night.

I went on a Sunday and it was a huge change. I'm giving this place three stars because the staff was rude, it took forever to get a drink and even got a dirty look or two from the waitress ....my guess is she was annoyed I wasn't a regular. Anyway the crowd was over 40 and extremely drunk and they were obviously folks who drink there too often. Here's what I saw. Two people spill other peoples drinks and just shrug, one man knocked over a barstool and one woman completely fell off her chair... also older women dancing and jiggling their breasts and almost taking off their tops. If you're into that this bar is for you. In the bathroom one very inebriated woman almost wouldn't let me leave.
    Good people watching.
Lots of flirty older super drunk folks. I guess you could pick someone up here but.... well, the odds are good but the goods are odd.
I'll probably go back because it's down the street. However I'll try to avoid Sunday nights.

*EDIT I keep giving this place a chance because it's so close but it's very hit or miss.

A dive bar at its finest.

The drinks are good and cheap but the atmosphere can be dark and depressing depending on when you go. There is a mix of older people as well as young people occasionally. The music is decent as well.

The staff is incredibly friendly and it's a nice place to go if you're in the area with some friends. I wouldn't go out of my way to get there though.

Leave your fricken LA attitude at the door!  It's casual, and super unpretentious.

This is a great, local neighborhood bar, with live music, folks to chat with (mixed crowd from red-faced drinkers to the nicely-dressed, and from 20's to 70's), and decent Irish pub-style food (slammin' burger!).  If that's not enough, let me add that they serve great Guiness.  Yes, GREAT.  The bartender and waitress that I've met also couldn't be nicer.

Shall I go on, or should you just go in there already?  Time is wasting!

So, I dropped by this place on a Sunday night on my way home after dropping a friend off. When I get in there is a guy performing his rendition of Whitney Houston's always love you. I'm thinking damn this is lame. And then I sit down at the bar, grab a drink and watch more performances.

I really couldn't judge the bar based on my own experience, but the other people go the bar seemed to be have a descent time. So, four stars due to the fact that it seemed like a good bar.

    Why 5 stars?

The place is a dive.  But a dive that's been lovingly maintained by 2 brothers.  It looks well worn, and that's because it is well worn.  It's a staple stop in the valley.  It starts early in the afternoon with the old timers and regulars.  People that play darts, eat for a while and get well lubed for the later hours of the evening.  But it isn't uncommon for Ireland's to get populated by the young hip crowd sometime around midnight.

So why the draw? What's going on at Ireland's that isn't going on at any other stop in town?

Well, questioner, a few things worth your while.  The live music for example.  Usually featuring 5 nights of live performance, Ireland's is definitely a place for the music lover.  Monday's are "Acoustic Jam" nights, hosted by 29 Mules, the resident Honky-Tonk Rockabilly outfit.  They're great, and the guests they feature are great.  Chill, low key, and rarely the lame acts you'll catch at your average open mic.  The rest of the week gets loud.  Whether it's the 2 nights a week of karaoke (with a really savvy crowd, I might ad) or the live music, you'll be entertained.  Even if the entertainment for the evening isn't your "style" of music, you'll appreciate what's going on.

Alan, the usual evening bartender, and part owner of the bar, pours an honest drink.  Irish whiskey is available, and prices are reasonable.  Cocktails are made, and they aren't bad, but be real.  With a good selection of Irish beer and a variety of the hard stuff, did you really come to Ireland's to get a Midori sour?  If you did, you might find yourself not enjoying the evening.

The food?  Surprisingly good.  While not anything particularly fancy, the menu features solid Irish staples.  The kitchen is also populated with daring and experienced chefs from local Cordon Bleu, so when they are able to sneak in a hip alternative special, they will, and they do.

Do yourself a favor and stop by on Wednesday night to see some truly legit talent.  29 Mules typically plays full electric that night.  Casey and Xavi, (singers) are great guys.  Say hi, have a beer, and see if you don't enjoy yourself.

    So here's the equation:

Good Music + Decent Drink Prices and Selection + Good Food = Great place.

We went to this pub on Saint Patrick's Day and had a great time. Keeping up with the theme of the day, everything was green and beery. It was super packed and we had a good time doing the Irish dance with live music playing by a couple of bands. There were 2 different ones playing at two different times. There wasn't much to eat when we asked for some food. Although, that could be because of the huge crowds on Saint Patrick's.
But the thing that bothered me the most about this place wasn't the food, or the alcohol, it was the crowd. My friends and I, were the only people in the club that were 20+, but leaving us aside, the average age in the club was about 40-something. There wasn't anyone in there who was even close to their 20s or 30s. I am not sure, if this was mere co-incidence or do they have like an age limit of 35+ there???

As for the beer all the irish greats are there Guiness, killkenny i think thats how its spelled, also stella, 3 others and my favorite beer ever HARPS! so if you like good food a chill atmosphere and good beer, you definitely should try this place out.

They say the third time's the charm.

In this case it was the lucky charm.

Friday night came around and I got the wild hair again and we ended up back at Ireland's 32.  This time an Irish band called The Twighlight Lords were playing.  Such good music, I had no idea what to expect. I think I may have half expected to hear some riverdance type of music or something!

Next time we'll have to try the Irish breakfast!

Suffice it to say we have been completely won over by this place!

Ok, I was a little adamant to coming here when I read the reviews, because I really don't think Guinness is anywhere near being the best beer you can have, yet everyone here apparently would lick Arthur Guinness' balls after a workout, as if he had found the cure to cancer or invented the iPhone.  Hit the reset button on your taste buds, yo'!  There are waaay better tasting beers.  I don't drink beer all the time, but when I do, I go to a place with options not so commercial, like the kind your find at Lucky Baldwins in Pasadena.

BUT at Ireland's 32 they do have Stella Artois on tap, which is acceptable, and tonight I tried a VERY nice Irish beer called Smithwick's.  It's dark, but not too malty.  I started with a Stella Artois, but once I tried Smithwick's it was buh-bye Stella, since it's not as bitter.

Anyway, so I very much liked that beer, and they had karaoke tonight (Sunday).  Now, the choices people make for songs...?  Could be better.  But for the most part, the ones who sang could carry a tune.  And there was this very funny guy in a black John-Travolta-in-Grease leather jacket singing old 60s songs and doing martial arts-ish moves when singing.  The girl hosting the karaoke had another mic, and would make special effect sounds when he was singing and kicking.  The more you drink, the funnier it gets.  I think he's a well known character here.  I don't even think he was drinking at all.  LOL!  Quiiite a character.  Good heart, though -- and people laughed a lot and all, but when he came over (to everyone) to high-five them after his minute of fame,  everyone treated him nicely.

Bartenders were friendly, and the bathroom was surprisingly clean.  I didn't eat here, so I can't rate the food.  Not a hot spot kind of place, but if you just want to have a few drinks surrounded by more earthy (sometimes weird, but unpretentious) kind of people than in WeHo, and not dress up, nor drive very far, this is an option.

I want to try it again when they have a live band.  :-)

This is the closest thing to a real deal working class Irish pub as you'll ever find in LA.  Unlike most of the so-called Irish pubs all over the city, most of the staff here are Irish expats and there is a large clientele of Irish expats that gather here, especially on sundays.  The vibe here is totally authentic and completely unpretentious.  This is a real drinkers bar and they'll continue to serve you as long as you're still standing.  It's definitely not a meat market here, but single women do roll through here from time to time if that's what you're looking for.

A word to the knuckleheads, while this may be a working class bar in the north valley people here tend to be very friendly and nice - so keep your glares and shit talk to a minimum.  In all my years of coming here I can honestly say I've only ever met one asshole (and he was just a harmless drunk).

Awesome dive bar with friendly people and loud music. It's a place to dance to live music and make friends randomly. Seriously, every time I come here, I end up meeting people. The crowd is older, but they're not unfriendly, and the whole bar sang happy birthday to me TWICE the whole time I was there.

There is zero pretense here. It's just a nice place to relax and spend time with your friends.

This place is a true Irish pub. Definitely a great great neighborhood bar.

I have been here a few times and have always enjoyed myself.  The drinks are cheap and stiff, and the staff is friendly.  Once I came in and there were about 20 Irish folk in one corner drinking their Guinness and singing old Irish songs.  Awesomeness.

I have only eaten here once. I had the burger and fries ($6.50 and it was pretty good.  I would have it again.  They also have some good happy hour appetizer prices:
    Chicken Wings  $3
    Onion Rings   $2
    Chicken Tenders  $3
    Mozarella Sticks  $2
    French Fries  $2
    Sampler Platter  $6.50
    (M-F 4-6pm)

They also have some type of entertainment every night... karaoke or Irish bands.

Ireland's 32 is definitely an awesome place to chill with some friends. If you live in the Valley and haven't been, you are just dumb.

This was the first bar I went to when I moved out to the Los Angeles area. I'm a sucker for Irish Pub's and since this one was down the street from where I was living at the time, I decided to check it out.

My first few trips there definitely left me with mixed but positive feelings about the place. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the bar and they had plenty of Smithwicks on tap. The bartender was a true Irishman and a damn good guy, made me feel right at home. I think the only thing that struck me as somewhat of a negative was the fact that I was easily the youngest person there by a good 20 years. I wish I was exaggerating, but I'd say half the clientele had a good 40 years on me.

Now, granted it was late afternoon on a weekday (One of the perks of unemployment) but I was kind of hoping I wouldn't be the only one there who couldn't tell you where they were when Kennedy was assassinated. Despite that,  I had a good time there that first visit. Met some cool people, got a round or two bought for me, bought a few rounds, and shared some laughs.

I decided to make Ireland's 32 my local pub and was back there at least once a week if not more. I've come to find that the crowd really varies there depending on the night. Youll definitely find your 20 somethings crowd but I've definitely hung with the 60 somethings as well.

On Sundays, they have the football package and are always great about putting on whatever game you want to see. The only food I've eaten is the pancake breakfast (on football Sundays, not because I'm a severe alcoholic. Although...) and it was quite good.

Overall Ireland's 32 is a great bar with fun live music on the weekend's and a decent place to grab a drink after a long day.

Stop #1 on our Wednesday adventure.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. Ireland 32's was always kind of like that friend that you feel like you've outgrown, yet you still keep hanging out with them.

Always loved the crowd here. The drinks are fairly reasonable. $13 for a Jameson shot and a large bottle of Newcastle. They serve food, but I don't think I ever ordered any.

Been coming here since High School (fake IDs are awesome) and it never changes. Same crowd, same drinks, same atmosphere. Definitely a cool place to come and chill for a few hours with a pint of Guinness.

Two nights before I left for Portland I was determined to finally try Ireland's 32. While driving home from Story Salon at the Coffee Fix, my mom relented to my request It turned out that Wednesday night a live country/Honky Tonk band was playing on the small stage. The crowd was mostly middle-aged women dressed to the bible-belt nines.

It was surprisingly easy to get two stools at the end of the bar. We both ordered Harp's. For a dive bar, they sure charge a pretty penny for a pint. It was either $6 or $7. Anything more than $5/pint at a divey place, to me, seems a little absurd.

The bartender was nice. The food looked good. I definitely liked the place more than the Robin Hood. Would I wait four hours at St. Patty's to get in? Hell no. Would I meet up with a friend for a drink here if it was convenient for both of us? Uh, well, I don't see what not.

I do appreciate the Celtic music being played in the background.

**UPDATE 06/08: Decided to stop by after our BBQ meal for a cocktail -- did I forget that call drinks were 5 dollars??? What?? How could one forget that price in a land of 10 dollar drinks??? I also saw someone order a few beers and at least 10 shots, all came up to $72.00.  So I said to self :
"Self, it seems I may have to frequent my local a bit more now that money's getting tight which curiously is driving me to drink more..."
My friendly neighborhood bar -- you are bumped from 3 to 5 stars, well done! ***

A dive bar that I can walk to and stumble home from but so far I have only been twice:

    1. On a Friday night (when I took too many tequila shots and don't remember leaving) -- it was busy, there was a live band and lots of locals.  No need to dress up or posture here, just have a couple of drinks and hang out.

    2. On a Sunday afternoon - drastically different. Quiet, few people in the bar, but the barkeep was super cool and I do believe authentically Irish (if not, a darn good imitation)

Hmmmm....seems like this needs some more investigation -- mini pub crawl anyone?????  (Ireland's 32+English pub the next block over  -- we can make it an International mini-pub crawl!!!)

I'm really sad to write this...but as Tom Wolfe said, "You can't go home again."

Ireland's 32 was a sentimental favorite of mine for a very long time.  It's kind of like the old boyfriend you still are "friends" with, even after you've broken up for good reasons.

I first took my Scottish-Irish grandmother there, in 1980, for her 75th birthday.  The establishment was much larger then, and had a full dinner menu, a band that played decent Irish music, and a large dance floor.  My family and I dined in a cozy booth on a corned beef and cabbage dinner, and when the band got going, the bartender wanted to dance with my grandma.  She got uncharacteristically embarrassed, and declined.  When she fell and broke her hip several months later, the first thing she said was, "Damn!  I wish I'd danced with that young man!"

For several years after that, I went to Ireland's 32 frequently with a coworker for dancing, drinking, and flirtations.  Then I got married and had my son, so this place fell from my list of priorities.  Still, I would get nostalgic when I would drive by.....

Tonight, I was there to meet some associates, and got a sad dose of reality.  Gone was the attentive, cheery server.   Glasses, used napkins, and remnants of meals were left sitting a very long time on adjacent tables.  When my chicken tenders were a long time coming, the bartender asked ME, the customer, to go back into the kitchen, to "tell them what you want."  When I made a face, the bartender said he'd do it. I didn't get a bill, and when the kitchen staff brought one to me a half hour later, it was for another table.

Overall, it was a rather disappointing experience, seen through the wistful perspective of how Ireland's 32 once was.

Sometimes, I guess, you can't recapture an old love....sigh....

    I can't believe I'm giving this place a 4-star.  But I have good reason:

    1.  It's literally 5 minutes driving distance from my place.
    2.  I can wear my jammies (baggy jogging pants) and get in.
    3.  They have live band (that I usually hate) but because this place is local and I'll run into NO ONE I know in my usual world, I can dance like a crazy acid-tripping woman, and no one cares.
    4.  It's kinda nice and cozy, and as long as you are boozing, you'll meet great people...
    5.  I've been to several Irish pubs in LA, and this one isn't too shabby in comparison, but then again, I'm biased cuz its 5 minutes from my place.

Disclaimer:  If you ever recognize me, only say "hello" if you can stoop to my level by acting like a moron, or at least a convincing imbecille.

A great dive bar.  Never too crouded or hip.  I've only been on the karaoke nights but they're tons of fun whether or not you like to get up and sing.  The croud there is really cool and friendly and the bar staff is quick and, well, Irish.  There is a pretty good selection as far as karaoke songs go and the croud is pretty good at cheering you on.  They also give away free cigarettes if you give them your ID and email address if you're into that sort of thing.

My only complaints is that they don't have many beers on tap and the bouncer is bored most of the time and tends to go looking for trouble.
