The Trap

I tried to get in the other day and when I couldn't find it I called the number. The bartender was so rude that I almost didn't go, but even after he told me point blank not to come and that the place didn't want me there I decided to show up anyway just to piss him off. The place was filled to capacity, but it was pretty easy to get a drink, but there was only one TV to watch the game on! Seriously!? Worst part, they ran out of beer, and asked me to go pick them up a 30 rack to help out!? The only saving grace is the Drinking and Driving (Mario kart) tournament that was going on. I did manage to take 2nd place just behind the owner, and for that I'll give this place two stars.

If there 6 stars I'd give them 6!  I thought bars like this were only in Austin or Brooklyn and Portland Oregon.  Got there late and sat at the bar next to James Iha (I guess he lives in the neighborhood).  The staff was great but call first because they close sometimes for private events.

As a dirty Silver Lake hipster (kidding, or am I?), I can say that I really enjoy knowing that I at least enjoyed the Trap's good days. Now it's jumped the shark a bit, catering to an older clientele trying to hang onto their youth. While I can't hate anyone for loving the Trap for it's youthful vigor, I can take a couple stars off my review.

But don't be fooled; I'm just trying to get people to stop going here so it becomes cool again.
