El Mariachi

Service was great and the Sunday brunch has a wide variety. Food was good, I'll definitely go again!

I've been here a few times.

The parking situation really sucks.  Unless you get really lucky with street parking, you need to valet.

The food is pretty decent.  I'm a fan of the steak fajitas, the chicken nachos, and the fish tacos.  The margaritas are pretty strong, and their selection is pretty good.  The service could use some improvement though.

It's a good place to nosh on some munchies and watch a game, and the mariachi band keeps you entertained.

My friend lives down the street from this place and as I sat across at Corner Bakery I just wondered and thought.. *thought bubble ~ Right...last thing this town needs is another Mexican bar.. I envisioned the worse. Loud music,police and public sites not to mention.
So when it opened back then I was impressed it was nothing like the above I mentioned...This place is pure class. Large rooms, many ..many t.v's and a good fast staff. That was when it opened.
What about today (OK not today..when the Basketball #7 game was played Thursday)? Glad to say this place is even BETTER!  This is the best, hard working, most attentive staff and service you will find. Beware..on game nights it's loud...as it should be. It is frantic and the staff took it on and did wonderful!
Drinks came fast and were not watered down...I like that. The salsa for chips..I don't like the taste..others did. I ordered the Cheveiche (excuse spelling but it's that fish and tomato mixture). It came in a glass and I thought it would be on tostadas. I was going to ask ..but went to the bathroom instead. On the way, the owner  Fernando I think he said his name was, asked if I was OK..I told him about my surprise in the presentation of my meal (I'm not going to misspell it again) and he said ..go to bathroom...I bring you something at table. Upon my return...a basket of fried to perfect brown corn..and a basket of fire cooked flour tostadas! That is service!
My friend got something yummy too and it was all great. I live in LA so I know Mexican food and am not one of those snobby eaters that expect perfection and people to wipe your chin. The place has good Mexican  food...not 5 star..but not the trucks either.  I would go here again and again (probably not remember a few of them due to the drinks)  Excellent place! Food is B  Service is beyond any rating ..those who got slow service ..I'm sure they have rectified that because I  saw a butt busting smiling crew each time I went...awesome crew!

*only down side is the parking...Valet only.  The Ihop is off limits as is the small stores next to restaurant. . They will ticket and tow.  Not sure about parking across the street  or Fresh and Easy or over at Corner Bakery and the spaces for the out of business  middle eastern restaurant might be OK .  
Strange..???? No Mariachi......? Guess they don't play during loud sports night...:(
