Blue Chip Casino, Michigan City, Indiana - It's Vegas Baby lounge. Went for, new, early (5:30 - 9:00) Sunday Jazz series in August. Spirited and excellent Smooth Jazz band, very personable, (though I'm actually a "real jazz" fan). Fairly prompt and attentive service, not rushed to eat and leave. Not overly crowded - early. Huge portions, (take home), really creative and excellent food for a night club atmosphere, reasonable prices, especially on wine. The $30 for two jazz special menu is pretty varied, appetizer, main dish, shared (big) dessert. Overall an excellent Sunday night experience.
Review Source:This place leaves alot to be desired. The crowd is always a strange mix of casino goers, twenty somethings and middle aged people. The last time I was there, I saw hookers picking up bar patrons and nobody was stopping them, that is just crazy. I don't want to spend my Saturday nights at a club where hooking is going on. The bands are always pretty decent, which is great but it is almost always over-crowded and the prices are ridiculous on top of a cover charge everytime you go. There is no coat check offered, the seating is minimal and there is only 1 bar which you don't have easy access too and is always super crowded. The staff there is always rude witht the exception of the bartenders. The line for the 1 bathroom is always insanely long so plan on spending most of your night in line for either a drink or the restroom. Overall, not impressed witht this place in the least.
Review Source:It's nice that Blue Chip expanded offering several different options. This option is for single mom's that are fourty, not there to gamble but instead pick up a dude that is there to gamble and is winning (which doesn't exist). Â
I would say the karoke there is the wrose karoke place I have experienced. No one was interested and the KJ sounded suicidal.
The drinks cost an average of 8 dollars for well drinks.
The seats were sort of comfortable. The bands have never sounded good any time I had been there.
I have been here twice, both Saturday nights after a long evening of gambling. Both times I made money so all the shots being purchased certainly didn't hurt the fun factor.
Both times a very cool band was playing (first time Naked Karate Girls, second time Your Villain My Hero), both bands put on a really good show and got people out on the dance floor.
The bartenders pour a decent drink and the price is fair. There is a chick bartender there who will make your jaw drop and is also really nice.
Rather new restaurant located within the Blue Chip Casino Hotel and Spa. I heard about it from some friends so I decided to check it out. We went on a Saturday and it was pretty packed--we didn't need a reservation, but had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, the girls at the front said they took reservations, so we will definitely call ahead next time.
The menu was pretty varied, offering everything from shared appetizers and flat breads to sandwiches, pastas, seafood and steak. The portion size was huge for the price. Along with drinks, I think I spent about $40 per person for dinner--a bit higher than normal for restaurants in this area, but well worth the price for the quality of the food and atmosphere.
On our way out, the girls at the front asked if we would be returning for the entertainment--we didn't know exactly what they meant so they went on to explain that they had live bands Friday-Sunday. We came back around 11 and did not have to pay cover because we had dined earlier.
Good thing too, because there was a long line and the dance floor was slammed. This quiet, upscale restaurant turned into an loud and crazy nightclub almost instantly. We had a blast staying all night dancing and drinking.
I highly recommend It's Vegas Baby to anyone looking for a really good meal and a great place to party.
