This place is one of the last true Arcades left in Southern California and you can only have lasted this long by being the best.

James Games has a pretty good variety of games, though they are admittedly heavy on the fighting game side.  Still, they have a nice Wangan racing community and are underground famous for the Marvel & Street Fighter scene they've had here since forever.  And don't forget the pinball machines they still have in the back!

Cherrie and Mike work the Arcade and provide the utmost in customer service.  Even if you don't like games you will still love hanging out there with those two and sure enough more than a few people do, just because they like the atmosphere and the people. That itself speaks volumes of the quality community that have going here.

James Games is good fun and good people. If you like or care anything about Arcade gaming or the gaming community you'll want to check this place out. You'll quickly see why so many people keep coming back here and why 30 years later it's still going strong.

I'm not even a huge gamer, but this little place is entertaining and cheap...and right down the street from me! Closes late, has a soda and snack machine, and plenty of different games, including pool and air hockey. Yeah, it smells a little buuuuuuuuuut you get used to it!

It might not be shiny and new like Round 1, but this place is cool. I currently help IEBattleGrounds (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.iebattlegrounds.com&s=e21c887d03ca907f9a38186acaaf79950f206b37794074b0a0cdc5967309741f" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.iebattlegroun…</a>) run console events here just about every Sunday and it's been working out great. We run casuals and tournaments for the major new fighting games (Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Street Fighter IV, etc.). Come by and check us out sometime!

I came here yesterday to check out the hacked DDR cab that received an ITG upgrade and well, the pads are alright. At least they work but not all that sensitive for the more serious gamers. The only songs on this machine are the original ITG 1 and 2 songs. Nothing else, which sort of blows and the USB port does not work though the attendant did say that he was going to be buying a new port to replace the broken one and will be adding new songs once that port has been replaced. They have MT3 here, a Tecnika 3, MVC2, SF3 & 4, a pool table, and a few of the older classics. I can't speak for the quality of all those other machines as I never gotten around to playing them. The place itself is rather cramped so for the claustrophobic and the extra tall people (6'0"+), you might want to avoid this place. They do have a public restroom, a vending machine for snacks as well as drinks, and a jukebox for some odd reason.

The attendant there was some white dude who was actually pretty nice for the most part, albeit bored out of his mind, I would imagine. Other than that, I wouldn't make the drive out here again to play the DDR cab, Tecnika, or MT3 unless I actually live in or near Upland and I'm just that lazy that I don't want to drive out to Round One in Puente Hills for the same things but with a much wider space to maneuver around, cold air-conditioning, and a free water fountain with cold, clean water.

All in all, it's passable for an arcade though if you have a car, you're better off going elsewhere but for a local arcade, it's good enough for what it is. Oh yea, these games only accept quarters--yes, real money--not tokens like most other arcades these days. (Not a bad thing in itself but it's all about that nostalgia for classic 80's arcades, if you care much for that).

Jame's games is a great little arcade. Has a lot of the old school games and many of the new ones. It has a pool table, air hockey and even a jukebox! Great place to go when you want to have some fun with friends.

NERD ALERT! REVIEWING AN ARCADE! Whatevers i'm a geek and i love video games. Not as much as I use too. Like honestly i use to be addicted to online video games and i thank god that i had dial up and a shitty computer back in the day so I was never able to get addicted to World of Warcraft. I probably would have been on that 24/7 but luckily i never got into it!

James games is really a shell of its former self. It use to be SO MUCH MORE POPPIN'! Like it would always be packed late nights and stuff and then it just died out of nowhere. Maybe its the economy? Not enough quarters? But yeah this place is pretty much empty now a days besides maybe fri/sat nights.

I gotta give it some props for using quarters cause sometimes that shits annoying when you have to use tokens at other places cause its like wtf what if im done and i still have the leftover tokens. I actually have a token to a different arcade (Arcade Infinity) in my car from 2 years ago. My cars been broken into so many times and yet that token still remains FML! Anyway that arcade infinity is closed down now i think so wtf am i gonna do with that token. I want my goddamn quarter back!

Anyway this arcade has your standard shooting games (time crisis, house of dead) standard arcade games (pacman, metal slug, raiden, puzzle bobble) but everyone just comes here for the.. FIGHTING GAMES! MOTHER FUCKING STREET FIGHTER BABY! FUCK I LOVE STREET FIGHTER SO MUCH! I love pissing off people better than me with my scrub ass strategies, ive pissed off so many people here and i love it! A lot of people come here for the mvc2.. it has a pretty big crowd weekend nights but yeah its fun here if you wanna find some competition or get your ass whooped by me! Its open late night like 1 on weekdays and til 3 on weekends i believe. You can usually smell people blazing from afar though.

I only have a few annoyances about this place. WHY THE FUCK is mortal kombat and your sports games 50 cents? That shit makes no fucking sense who the fuck would wanna spend 50 cents to play those games, fuck i wouldn't even pay a quarter for that shit. I DONT GET IT, WTF!?

Sometimes theres a BIG BLACK GUY HERE  and by BIG i mean FUCKING FAT! Hes usually posted on the street fighter 2 machines and he smells like a fucking walking public toilet. My god he literally smells like piss. Its like if he got pissed on by 20 people and just let it soak into his clothes and fat ass jelly rolls. WTF take a shower! I don't get why people dont like taking fucking showers. I take one or two every damn day and i never ever smell. I've only smelled bad like 2-3 times in my life. I take pride in my hygiene. SO GET AT ME LADIES jay kay! I could run a marathon and still smell better than most people. I'm not saying i smell super good or anything I just dont smell bad. I smell like air which im fine with. but fuck maybe I should go buy some more cologne so girls don't also see me like air.. INVISIBLE! OOH SELF BURN!

Anyway this is a ok place to kick it if you like street fighter and what not there is also two pool tables you can play at and also air hockey which im a god at! Oh and the staff is pretty chill, no problems there!

this place is pretty cool to go to for some of the older games that you have been missing to bring back the nostalgia of the old times.

other then that it has a few decent new games and a basic following of locals that continue to come back, that seem to keep it open.

its not really easily seen from foothill blvd and you only know about it if your local or have friends that are.

the decor is not the best but it is still a fun place to go.  there needs to be more seating ithink but it is still a good place to go spend some quarters

$3 gets you half an hour of pool and after that it's $5 an hour. Not bad, I guess!
They have a jukebox that's $1 for 3 songs and its got all the 90's jams, UNTZ UNTZ. I always just play Puzzle de Pon or one of those puzzle type games or House of Motherfucking Zombie Nerds. Its fun watching guys get all into Street Fighter Vs. Capcom and I heard they have tournaments! I gotta see one of these soon...
There's a vending machine but go to a liquor store beforehand and get drinks and snacks.

I remember coming here during my high school days. After school, my friends and I would always hit the arcades and play MVC2 or DDR. It was good times. The pool table is pretty nice, and Rick, the owner, is a really cool guy. Games are usually really cheap, you'll either spend a quarter or fifty cents to play here. Pool tables I think run about $2 an hour.

I've been a street fighter fan since the early 90's so it was cool to see an arcade with so many different versions of the game... the place isn't huge but it's cool to see a real arcade still up and running. Its not quite the same experience now as it was 15 years ago...perhaps I've been spoiled by high powered gaming PC's and HD home consoles. My two boys (10 and 13) prefer the local internet cafe where they can connect to live and play COD... but I give them credit for keeping this cool little spot alive. If you're a street fighter fanboy it's the place to be.

Arcade Fighter aficionados and tech insomniacs getaway. Very local and a very interesting location. There are a variety of games with a specialization in arcade fighters, as previously stated, with a very reasonable(ly cheap) price per play.

The operation hours extend late on a weekday night closing at midnight and weekends at 3AM, if I recall correctly.

Lots regulars with their own favorite days and machines.

Slightly sketchy with the late hours and all. Don't be surprised if you get challenged by some dude smelling strongly like the herb. Heck, some just wreak of an odor most foul.

Great place, Guilty Gear, Street Fighter IV, Marvel Vs. Capcom, Maximum Tune, not too many quarters either, most of those games are 25 cents.
They also have air hockey, bust-a-move (puzzle bobble) and some Japanese arcade games. Gets a little stuffy on the weekends, and I don't think they turn on the A/C. The workers are really cool. I love coming here, but that may be because it's one of the only arcades I know of. They close late on Fridays and Saturdays, either 1 a.m. or 2 a.m., and either 11 p.m. or 12 a.m. on the weekdays, but I'd call to be sure.

I never see children there, usually teenagers and young adults.

That's amazing that this place is still in business, seeing as that it opened in the early 80's, and it's been at least that long since I've been there!  I''d give it 4 stars, just for nostalgia sake, it's in a terrible area (meaning you'd probably never want to go here after dark) and deserves fewer stars in reality.  It has always been rather small for an arcade, but it always use to carry all of the latest video games.

I can't even tell you how many thousands of quarters I dumped into the machines here, right when Space Invaders, Missile Command and other games came out.  Does anyone remember those games?  At the time, they were "state of the art", but now, I'm sure a kid in elementary school could program one of those games in an afternoon!  Like most adolescents, I had a video game "problem"!  Fortunately, it was a temporary thing and I escaped unscathed and slightly poorer for the experience.

It's right across the street from Upland High School, so of course it's right next to the perfect target market to hook the next generation of video game addicts.
