The set-up they had for their live entertainment was a bit crowded, but the place was packed for the country band we saw. Their garlic and olive oil pizza was delicious, and their drink specials were pretty stellar. I had a great time here, and the fact that it was a stone's throw away from my apartment building was pretty awesome, too!
Review Source:This is not a place to go on a Sunday for football. The service is awful (20 minutes after ordering a pitcher I received... empty water glasses), there is a strong chance if you are watching a game outside of the Bears it will be changed (and then upon identifying the situation...the bar owner told my group to move and he would set us up on a different t.v.), and the food isn't good. Don't waste your time.
Review Source:Was here on a Sunday afternoon 10/7/12 to watch Da Bears! This is the first and Last time I come to this place! morning games were on and we were waiting for the Bears to start. Then the Bears started and Morning game stayed on all the screens as well as the sound. Then minutes pass by and Bears game on 1 tv. Â The big screens you could barely see the players. U had to watch on the smaller screens. It was getting frustrating. We were a group of 6 waiting to just leave this experience. Then they finally changed the tvs. Â I ordered ribs basket, meat was so tough i thought i was chewing gum. Was gonna try the cole slaw, had no utensils. My fingers were all soaked, no napkins! Wtf! I was still hungry due to the small portions We ordered nfl nachos. They came out n looked good. Once in your mouth, not good. Cheese was watered down!!! Hopefully my stomach doesnt go crazy! Only one waitress dealing with a bunch of tables. This experience, the worst. I would Not recommend this place on NFL Sunday!!!!!
Review Source:Excellent attentive host Tony, stopped in on a Sat. night, they opened up the kitchen to cook bf a burger, bruschetta very good, great carrot cake, burger was cooked to perfection. Â Really impressed with the service, they had a band and everyone looked like they were having fun. Â Tony gave us a free beer coupon for our next visit. Â Reminds me of the Union Bar in Chicago, where the male host greets you. Â Very accommodating and attentive. Â We will be back for the prime rib Sat special 10.99.
Review Source:There is a Skee Ball machine in this bar!! Sold. Note: only takes quarters so start collecting!
Open atmosphere, good service, live music. Lots of big tables available if you're coming with a group. But seriously, the skee ball machine is key. And I will keep returning for this fact alone!
This place is actually pretty fun! I thought the prices weren't too bad and the food was great! My girlfriend had a garlic and olive oil cheese pizza which was very good and I had a bleu cheese burger. I liked their fries and the burger wasn't too bad. And they had lots of TV's and a large projection in the middle of the bar. So great for sports games!
They had live music the night I was there, country cover band, and the sound was excellent! There were people of ALL age groups and everyone seemed to be having as good of time as the group I was with.
I will be returning to JJ's and I am not sure if it was just a special that Saturday night or what, but any bar that has $2.50 PBR tall boys gets a special warm spot in my heart!
I'm giving Prime TIme 3 stars because I haven't had the food. My husband and I stopped by on our way home from a dinner out without the baby. My first impression was that it was a typical sports bar. Tons of TVs and a lot of people were wearing jerseys. I liked that 1. they had Woodchuck on tap! 2. there were purse hooks under the bar 3. everyone there was looking to have fun, have a beer (or other alcoholic beverage) and enjoy the game, not just "get wasted!".
Review Source:The food was ok. Â The service was odd, the waitress was chatty and helpful at first which I like, but then I had to ask for the check 4 times over the course of a hour before she "had time" to bring it to me. Â Then after I left, and paid her cash with a significant tip, she had the nerve to tell my friends that I stiffed her!
We went there for a Bears game and there were way too many Packers fans there, so the bar had dueling football games going on. Â When I go out to a bar to watch a Bears game, I want to be with Bears fans.
I won't be going back, nothing special here.
Update: ok I did go back :-P . The good was ok and it was more fun, no annoying Packers fans.
JJ's is an all around awesome & fun, classy yet laid back sports bar and grill with amazing food, drink specials, and overall atmosphere! There are tv's EVERYWHERE, and literally not a single bad seat in the house for watching a game! The pizza is really the best around and with live entertainment on the rise here... I think I found my new favorite spot! The actual bar itself is a unique "T" shape (absolutely gorgeous) with a stone face & foot rest. The bathrooms are styled the same way with a modern stone classy sorta feel that is completely unlike any sports pub I have ever seen! Seriously worth a visit.... or TEN!
