It was my boyfriend's birthday on the day we went and he really wanted some pizza. He works as a cook at a Neopolitan pizza place and we wanted to try something different. It was about 730 pm on a weekday evening when we decided to come here. We were already at the mall and we walked by the pizza place noticing that there was only one couple in the restaurant. We thought it would be perfect because it was not busy and it was still pretty early. When we walked by everyone that worked in that restaurant saw us about to walk in and looked at us as if they could not believe we were about to come into their restaurant. I stood by the door and went to go open it but the hostess, who couldn't be older than 19, just gave me a look like, "are you really coming in?". It's 730pm and you do not close until 9pm, of course I want to come in. This made me feel very uncomfortable and I just decided not to come in  and said through the door, "Nevermind, I do not want to come in after all". I would have dropped it after that, but then another thing happened. The hostess that stared at me dumbfoundly FOLLOWED me and my boyfriend into Panera, probably not thinking that I knew she was behind me the whole time. She stood behind us in line as we were ordering with a smirk on her face, after we were done ordering she stepped out of line and I watched her walk back into the pizza place. I do not know what her motives were for following us, but it REALLY bothered me.
I consider that VERY RUDE. Do not have one of your employees follow me.
I also called the next day to complain to the owner, and he was a very nice man. The only thing I am disappointed in with my conversating with him is that he promised to call me back, and he never did. I understand things fall through the cracks and as a owner, he is probably very busy. That is the only complaint I have about the conversation with him.
Cannot tell you anything about the food because I did not even get a chance to try it after this experience.
I enjoyed my dining experience here. Â The waitress was very good and their "patio" has cartoons on, which is nice when eating out with a toddler (always an adventure!). Â The pizza had real potential. Â The crust is perfect and is the only crust I have liked out here in the western suburbs. Â The cheese was also very good. Â The big disappointment was the sauce -- just not flavorful enough. Â If you guys could up the seasoning in your sauce, this place will be a winner, at least in my book. :)
