All i can say is: wow. My boyfriend and i live across the street from this place and have watched it come to life over the last few months, eagerly awaiting a new hibachi place for us to try. We are loyal Domo 77 fans and weren't quite sure what to expect.

First of all, the decor is wonderful. the colors mix well together (sort of a ruddy orange mixed with black is the theme, with a sprinkling of bamboo green thrown in). They have a charming little goldfish pond (not koi, actual goldfish) and the whole place is well lit and very open. The seating is like Domo 77, where you have multiple seats at the hibachi. The only improvement i would make is that the tables are a bit too high. Not annoyingly so but i noticed it at once when we sat down. I'm 5'4" and it came up to about my chest. Just a minor note and it by no means spoiled dinner

Second of all, the waitstaff was very friendly. This was only their second night, but they were professional and eager to please. Almost everyone came by to ask us how we were liking everything. The owner, the manager, several of the waitresses and a nice woman named Jennifer (one of the owners?) came by to talk to us and make sure everything was good. She explained that they wanted to make their restaurant a little bit different than other places, from the food to the atmosphere..

Thirdly, the food was fantastic! I had the filet mignon and shrimp and my boyfriend had steak, shrimp and chicken. Pretty much the same deal as other hibachi places. You get a mushroom soup, salad, fried rice and shrimp appetizer. The food looked great and tasted even better. I am in love with that clear mushroom soup they serve. The beef was melt in your mouth delicious and the drinks were reasonably priced. Then, there was the sushi. I had the philly roll and 2 tamago. The boyfriend had our usual spider roll. It was fresh and cool and very tasty. My philly roll was velvety-smooth and the spider roll had a hint of sweetness that he loved. Just as we finished stuffing ourselves, the waitress came and mentioned, oh, by the way, you get ice cream with your meal too. And we got a plate of oranges (probably because we kept telling them how great it all was!).

We will absolutely be back and i would recommend it to anyone who loves hibachi and/or sushi (they have a cool little sushi bar in the back and the pieces are on a little conveyor belt.) It's a little pricey, as most of these places are, but it was our anniversary so we spoiled ourselves.
