Don't bother using their online ordering system. Â It apparently doesn't update with "how busy they are" and they don't call you to let you know it'll be well over an hour instead of the 45 minute quote that was emailed to me.
I was completely polite -- just called with curiosity how much longer it'd be. Â His tone was rude and short.
I'm sorry -- I'll be attempting a new place.
I was quite impressed, especially after a couple disappointing attempts to get pizza delivered from a couple other places. The phone etiquette was good, pizza was phenomenal, and the delivery time was reasonable.
There is one extra thing with this place tonight that really impressed me... the delivery guy was great. My daughter and I ran out to the car for a 2 liter of Sprite. I left my 7yr old son in the room with the pizza money just in case it came while we were in the parking lot. We got 2- 10" pizzas for $21 so they couldn't have charged a delivery fee or any other hidden charges... I left my son with the pizza cost as well as a $5 tip for the delivery guy. When I arrived back to the room, he told me the delivery guy had given him back $3. It could have just been the fear of taking advantage of a child, and I would have preferred that the delivery guy get a larger tip for his time... The principle of it though is what stands out so much more than any price.. Great karma & great pizza with this place, get it while it's hot!!!
I've only tried John & Eddie's once, because I think somebody in my family found a good deal on this pizza. It didn't really impress me especially considering that in Naperville we have plenty of great pizza options. So even though it wasn't bad it has to be great for me to keep coming back. To be honest I almost would have been just as happy with a frozen Red Baron. I may decide to try it again sometime when I am in my hometown, but I hope next time it is the great pizza that some people have said it is!
