i dont know if i'm allowed to yelp this baby. i really dont know if i am allowed to give it a 5 either - see the thing is i didnt actually go here... my boyfriend swung by on the waay home from work today and scooped me some tasty tasty mexican grub.. I ordered Camrones al mojo de ajo. what a mouthful - both in pronunciation and flavor - oh and portion too. I had originally asked my BF to get me something safe (a burrito or something - since we'd never ate here before) -- while reading the menu he called me and said "i see something else on the menu you'll like..." i always trust him to order for me so i green-lighted his decision, even though he couldnt pronounce the meal. "Camrones al mojo de ajo" is sauteed shrimp in a spicy sauce with caramelized onions. cooked perfectly moist served with corn tortillas, lettuce, rice and beans. oh snap. i said OH SNAP. so yummy. the BF said the resturaant was nice and "3 steps above los famous.." just up the road..
i know this place is under brand spankin new ownership, and the Mexican joint that was there before was not so hot on the yelp scale, but seriously, give this place a shot.
oh, the healthy pile of fresh chihuahua cheese thaat was served on top of the beans gave me butterflies. i love me some fresh ass chihuahua cheese. 5 very yummy stars from me.
one thing... i hate raw tomatoes... i said i HATE raw tomatoes. and the guacamole was FULL of it. no joke 50% avocado, and 50% tomato. but just cuz i dont like tomatoes doesnt mean it was bad... i called my room mate over to eat the guac (since i most certainly wasnt touching it) Â and although the chips were very good and very fresh, he opted to eat the guac with a spoon. and he was making funny love noises when he ate it... i think he liked it... :-P
