We have ordered our fair share of Chinese food. Never once have we not finished what we've ordered, at least the next day or two with leftovers. We couldn't even choke down this terrible excuse for food. Ordered sweet and sour chicken and orange beef, they were both cold upon arrival and flavorless. Bland, chewy meat. Eggrolls were over-salted and the pot stickers were soaked in some liquid. They couldn't even compensate with cold Pepsi. I think we'll go elsewhere next time.
Review Source:Gah, got lunch from here yesterday and this place missed the mark so hard I'm not even sure what went wrong. Lucky Wok is the current champion in the Lisle Chinese scene, but they're closed Mondays, which lead us to the King Choy Pepsi Challengeâ„¢. Everyone immediately was tipped off by the overall weirdness of the food. A roommate got General Tso's Chicken which had the look, taste, and overall consistency of those nasty Lean Cuisine frozen Chinese dinners. It was really sort of incredible just how accurately they managed to replicate the sogginess of the breading, the runny-ness of the sauce, and the overcooked vegetables.
I ordered wonton soup which bordered on inedible, our egg rolls were overdone, and the fried rice in our lunch specials barely seemed to have whatever the microscopic level of soy sauce is actually required to make the rice vaguely turn brown.
Overall, a total disappointment that cost us $30. I definitely won't be back.
...Unless it's Monday and Lucky Wok is closed and I'm really craving Chinese food regardless of how terrible it is. Who knows, maybe they're just having an off day. I can't believe this is even the same place, looking at my last review for it.
