Seocho Garden

I have been craving Korean food for a while now and decided to give this place a try.  When I walked in  the greeter told me to sit anywhere,  but when I sat at the BBQ area she told me to sit in the restaurant area, even though there were people sitting in the same area as me.

I tried to order the all you can eat so I could try multiple dishes but I was told that was for two minimum.  All this was done with less then welcoming grace.  Not sure if that was a language thing or an attitude thing.

I ended up ordering a beef dish which was OK but no explanation was given me as to the relishes ( all mediocre) and no offer of menu explanation. The whole experience left me feeling  rather unwelcome and while the food and service certainly wasn't bad, it wasn't good either and I will probably never go back. Also it really was a bit pricey for what you get.

I am no expert on Korean food, but I enjoy what I have tried. My previous experiences where much more friendly and enjoyable than this one. I will look to those places in future.

This place gets my stamp of approval after me and buddy managed to eat ourselves retarded here last weekend.

The good:

-An extensive menu

-Free pajun to get things started

-A decent variety of panchan.

-Good flavor and seasoning

-Decent portions

-Lots of parking.

The bad:

-A grossly uneven ratio of BBQ tables to non-BBQ tables.

-Service is Korean (if you know what I mean o_O )

Will be back to have BBQ service to see if my rating goes up or down.

Pretty good food. They do give you the options to BBQ or have regular Korean food. We dine in. So I actually don't know much about the BBQ part. They separate the two, so the smoke from the BBQ would not interfere with the diners. The waiters did not circulate around the restaurant a lot, so it took a while for us to tell him what we want. They gave us a free korean pancake appetizer. They didnt have a lot of banchan but all the ones they provided were good. It was overall a pretty decent place to eat. They do have a parking lot, so there is no need to worry about finding a place to park.
