Surprised to see the bad reviews. This place is very quaint. The prices are good and the owner is very very nice. Only drawback is the place is honestly a little run down and somewhat shady looking (although most hookah bars seem to be.) The owner has been revamping the inside but it definitely still has a ways to go to be on the same level as some of the other hookah bars in the area such as Lux. They did repaint the walls though and the floor seating is a fun idea. I do love the mural in the hallway down by a local artist of the caterpillar from Alice in wonderland smoking hookah. Definitely would recommend checking it out, isn't the best hookah bar in the area but definitely one of my favorites.
Review Source:we went there last night sat for 6 minutes and left ,they tried to tell us we had to pay
for an hour if we were gonna leave and that they did us a favor for letting us in because they had the place reserved, i told the guy to get lost, Â there were only like 4 people in there anyway
as soon as we got in there nobody greeted us i guess because those perverts were drooling over these 2 girls who im pretty sure couldnt be older than 15 plus i heard the tell them they can eat but they couldnt smoke hard to really tell what they were doing behind those curtains, Â terrible customer service always leads up to a terrible time ,so we got up and left without hesitation, dhuwan hookah not for us
Ah, Dhuwan...
this is where I began my hookah expedition.
First of all, Dhuwan means "Smoke" in Hindi (India). I don't know what middle-easterners call it....
BUILDING/LOCATION:
The building is located between a liquor store and a Domino's Pizza (from my memory). From the outside, the building looks shady and dark. Inside, the building is that! Its dark and kind of congested.
SEATING:
There's 3 triers of prices depending on the location you sit at.
As you enter, the right side are booths (very small), fits about 3-4 people and its a tight fit. Its the cheapest.
The middle section has about 3-4 square tables made for 4 people, but can have up to 6-7 if needed. Prices are a bit higher. Directly behind that is a couch, which is a bit higher in prices, sits about 6 people in that area.
On the far left of the lounge are the semi-private booths, where you sit on carpet, Indian-style. Sits 6-10 people, and is the most expensive from the four.
ATMOSPHERE:
This is probably the best known hookah lounge in Naperville. So its also the most crowded, you may often run into people you know. The place is wired with a few speakers, but the sound isn't the greatest.
My number one pet peeve is the ventilation! It sucks and gets very smokey, especially when there are cigarettes lit.
PRICE:
Price is reasonable, but it depends on the area you choose to sit at. All hookahs are the same price, except for the premium blends. If I remember correctly, coals are extra charge (after a certain limit).
SERVICE:
The place has good flavors from brands like Al Fakher, Starbuzz, etc and prices are fairly low compared to other hookah lounges. The owner is kind of an ass in my opinion. He will kick you out, if you've been there for a while in order to make room for new visitors. Kind of bad customer service if you ask me. Most of the staff members are 18-20 years old, and they will often bend rules if you engage with them in conversation.
One thing I recommend if you want to spice up your smoking experience is to order Bubbles. This way you can blow into a sawed-off bottle to blow huge smoke-filled bubbles and place games, etc. Only thing is that they charge you a petty, $1-3 for the accessory.
All in All, I think its a good idea to try different lounges and find your comfortable match. The lounge is decent, nothing amazing, but if you want to just plain out smoke hookah, then Dhuwan is your place.
Enjoy!
