So....I *may* have spent what I thought would by my last day on earth (Damn you Mayans) at the Jock Stop. I wasn't informed there was a costume contest (Read: Ladies in lingerie, fellas in hazmat suits), so imagine my surprise. Imagine it people...West Allis + Lingerie= Fantastic.
Things overheard at the Jock Stop include:
"Lime? Let me check if the limes are moldy."
"Don't sit there, the ceiling is leaking. Actually, sit over there and hold this bucket."
"Psssst...If you use the big stall look at the wall and tell me if it reminds you of me."
"Jello Shoooooooots"
"Punch me. Punch me in the face."
You get the picture. Seriously though, some of the sweetest regulars and overall good hearted people I've meet in the 'Stallis. Cheap drinks, friendly bartenders. Craptastic....But, sometimes I'm into crap.
It was an all Stallis weekend my friends. Â After hitting up a Friday fish fry at The Painted Parrot, we ventured down a block to The Jock Stop. Â Upon arrival the bartender informed us that all double mixers are $2 (Friday special, but it appears most nights have a special that will allow you to pass out with a $20 bill including tip). Â I wouldn't say the three $2 drinks I had were the best ever, but for $2 I had no complaints. Â The bartender was the only one working, but he was very attentive and remembered everybody's drinks when they were ready for a refill (Truly a refill... make sure you bring your glass back).
For those of you in the area looking for a affordable drink I would suggest you stop in....... for those of you looking for a place to download brownware, I would suggest finding a different location with a stall door.
This was the last stop as the 81st Street Pub Crawl expanded to include The Jock Stop since it was on the way to Pegasus Restaurant. It was 2:15 so we weren't expecting to get served, but we talked the bartender into a couple of pitchers for our mid-size group.
The bartender was personable. Didn't get much of a look at the place but it seemed like it was a nice place. It was a great place for our nightcap.
