Sigh...our night here started out well, then it all wrent to hell. We went on a Saturday of a UFC, so we anticipated it would be busy. Surprisingly, we got a table immediately- score! There were 3 of us, we all ordered beer (from the notably incorrect beer menu we were given- I was excited to drink some local beers from the list, but alas, none of them were on tap any longer). We also ordered food, which came out quickly and was very good. We were positive at this point....but it was all downhill from here. After our disappointment in the beer list, we opted to try a Signature Tea- which according to the menu was $4 after 10pm. Awesome, right? Wrong. It took us a good 15-20 minutes to flag our server down again, understandable when she was busy serving the 5 tables nearby that were drinking water and Pepsi on the rocks in large quantities. When our bill came- we had been charged full price for our teas (it was 10:15ish when we ordered). We looked through the menu numerous times , thinking we must have missed some fine print somewhere. When we asked our now very pleasant server (being facetious) why the discrepancy in price, she just silently walked away. When she returned, she informed us that while unadvertised, on event nights the 10pm late night happy hour advertised in multiple places both inside and outside the building in actuality did not start until 11pm. And in no way would she be able to adjust out bill for such an unadvertised special. Ok, I understand the premise of the idea, but at least let us know, or be willing to work with us. If your happy hour doesn't actually start until an hour after its advertised during events, why even have a happy hour when you're a "sports theater"? Doesn't that apply to pretty much every hour you're open? Â We plan on contacting management tomorrow, but as for our return to Joe's, it's debatable. Maybe only when there are no events going- which is pretty much never.
Review Source:I've given this Joe Senser's more than a few chances to impress me.
The only good thing about this place is the number of TVs. Â There is a limited selection of mostly crappy beer. Â The food is way overpriced, comes in small portions, and not very good. Â The service is average, but if both the beer and the food are bad, why bother coming back? Â I know I won't be.
This place blows. No speakers in far northwest corner of DR. Can't hear.
HORRID $6 "Wedge" salad that was nothing more than a very small amount of iceburg, 3 very thin (thinner than McDonald's) tomato and onion slices, a dusting (that's being generous) of blue cheese, and some bacon bits that surely came out of a jar. Â You seriously get a 100000% better salad at McDonalds. Â Heck, probably White Castle. Â The Lime Cilantro Ranch had neither lime nor cilantro in it and tasted like a high school cafeteria's...Should charge $1, no more.
The server computer is directly in front of a projector screen in the back corner, and when it gets busy you have 3 servers crowding around and blocking the TV view.
Bathrooms are disgusting. Â The bathroom's TV cubbie is empty (missing TV) and has trash in it. Â Often the towels were spilling out and soap was missing. Â Three urinals super close together with no dividers.
No outdoor TVs or TV sound.
On top of this, the manager was incredibly rude.
They won't seat you until half your party is there. Â They don't take reservations on big game days.
BWW Roseville, as horrible as that place is, beats this hands down.
Very little healthy options on the menu.
FIX THE SOUND!
Yay! I am a fan
Great place to watch NFL
Two dollar bloodies
Other than the Senser's in Bloomington, I can't think of a better place to watch football or other sporting events than the Senser's in Roseville. Â The Roseville location is not quite as big as the one in Bloomington. Â However, jumbo screens all around the restaurant. Â There is really not a bad seat in the house. Â Sad to see the Eagan location go under. Â I have fond memories of going there on Wednesday nights to play NTN and usually end up eating and drinking for free with the gift certificate and cash prizes they handed out. Â Not sure if the remaining locations have the same deal.
Need a weekend hangover helper? Â Senser's has got you covered. Â They serve breakfast until 2PM. Â Had the Joe's Kobe Beef & Egg Sandwich which was fantastic. Â Comes with Cheesy Cajun Hashbrowns. Â For me, most hashbrowns are pretty much the same everywhere I go. Â These hashbrowns were standouts, however.
No better hangover helper than a hair off of the dog. Â $2.00 Bloody Mary's and Screwdrivers until 2PM. Â 18 beers on tap. Â Several macrobrews, but also some good stuff. Â They had Summit Saga and EPA and one of the Lucid varieties.
Nothing to complain about as far as I am concerned. Â It gets the Hammer seal of approval.
Came here to watch the Vikings... The place was packed - of course - but we were still able to get a table about 30 minutes before the start of the game. Â I loved that they asked us before seating what game we'd come to watch.
It took a while to get menus - as I said, the place was packed - because all of them were out. Â Yes, probably a bit overpriced for what we got but it was tasty and hot. Â We had the boneless Teriyaki wings to start - they were very good. Â I had the Bavarian ham and cheese on a pretzel roll. Â Wasn't anything special and they skimped a bit on the ham but still pretty good. Â Really enjoyed the cookie sundae for dessert! Â Even though we were only drinking sodas, they gave us great service on refills.
I would definitely come back here to watch a Vikings game - the vibe is great. Â Not sure I'd choose it for any other time, though...
It's big. Like, really big. And big ups for the handicap ramp. And...yeah, that's about where it ends.
It's overpriced, and the selection isn't anything to write home about. The first bloody mary I had was okay, but the second one was totally different, so major points off for inconsistency. The menu is big without a lot of cohesion, and it's not that exciting, either. Very meh.
I went here for a fantasy football draft. Â We were supposed to get the private room but they put someone else in there. Â They made up for it by putting us in are own section, giving us a bunch of free apps, beer, and our first 2 drinks were free. Â I was very impressed with the management. They made a mistake and made up for it in a big way. Â Apps were decent and drinks were strong.
Review Source:Just another Cookie Cutter Chain like Sports Bar in the beginning it was Great , food was Good and a fun atmosphere but success has changed them into the Lame sports bar they now are the food is the same at any Champs ,BW3 or any other chain with no imagination Dose any Place cook the food or is it all Pre packaged Junk anymore?
Review Source:Busy place! Â Tons of TVs and bar space. Â Good bar menu and decent beer selection. Â Great place for game night or UFC fights.
We had a large group and were seated quickly. Â Service was excellent considering how busy there were thirty min after we arrived.
Everyone enjoyed their food. Â The table ordered salads, burgers and sandwiches.
This place us huge, TV's everywhere, and have a newly renovated (& beautiful) patio! Staff is really friendly and engaging.
The best part is the happy hour. Seems like there's always a deal going on.
Had a couple 10" pizzas for $5. The chicken Alfredo pizza was delicious, perfect with a couple $2 beers!
It's a good place to bring a group if you want to sit with 4,000 people at the same time and watch a sporting event. Â On the other hand, there are about 4,000 screens to watch many different events, and you need to get a stereo at your table to listen to whatever you want to watch. Â The last time that I was there, the stereo didn't really work so we couldn't really hear the announcers.
They serve your basic grease-pit fare which can be a good thing if you're in the mood for having a heart attack while watching sports. Â I wish that they could offer some healthier options but that's not really their thing. The waiter was very attentive and kindly split up our bill, even with the large number of people in our group.
I'm sure I'll be back the next time that a group wants to meet there to watch an event, but will probably stick to a glass of beer and stay away from the nice "coronary a la carte" that you'll get a chance to enjoy with about 90% of the items on the menu.
My boyfriend had a craving for the walleye sandwich and senser fries. Â So I got to go shoe shopping and he got to satisfy his craving. Â Or so we thought.
First disappointment was that they had changed their menu and the old walleye sandwich was gone, replaced by a much less appealing version (cheese?!? on walleye?! must we put cheese on everything?!). Â So that was a no-go. Â He got the beef tips wrapped in bacon and an order of the senser fries. Â I didn't care for the beef tips at all, which is saying a lot since they come wrapped in bacon.
The senser fries were fine, I don't get as excited over waffle fries as he does.
I got the rookie burger, which was a good, basic burger. Â I was impressed they took time to toast my bun (thank you!), but the mayo was a bit heavy handed. Â I got the sweet potato fries which had good taste but looked like they were the victim of both freezer burn and over-frying. Â So so sad.
Our server was very friendly, but it took longer than it should've to get our food.
We both had upset stomachs later to top it off. Â I think we took care of that craving, for good. Â We won't be back.
This past weekend, the boyfriend had a hankering to watch some Gopher hockey with his UMTC alumni friends. Â I'm not a big sports fan, but I am a fan of my boyfriend, so I played along. Â :) Â Joe Senser's was the obvious choice for our group's needs. Â We had a comfy, spacious table, and a prime view of all the games our group wanted to see. Â I suppose that's kind of hard to miss, when every wall is covered in big screen projection TVs. Â But still - I thought it was cool.
Our server, Brit, was AMAZING. Â She was really great about not taking plates before we were done eating, swooped them up on the sly when we were, kept our water glasses full, and made sure we never wanted for anything. Â She also had a good feeling for when we needed her, and left us alone when we just wanted to watch the game...or in my case, the funniest home video reel.
Even being indifferent about sports, I feel like Joe Senser's is a good venue for big screen viewing and a tasty meal. Â The food has always been delish, served hot, and a good portion for the price. Â Plus, during some sporting events, they will have their Plinko board set up, where people win prizes during the game. Â Super fun!
I've only been here once but I was pretty amazed at the set up for sports viewing. Â I've been to sports bars before but never one where it was actually designed so that everyone had a great view of multiple games on HUGE screens. It's a great place to go with friends where you can hang out and watch a game. Â Everyone has a great seat but it is a little loud for chatting. Â The food was alright and certainly not bad. Â We enjoyed the waffle fries a lot and the chicken strips but they are nothing to write home about and $9. Â If you're going during a big game, don't expect to find a table. Â This place is super popular and you might want to get there a little early.
Review Source:I have been to the Joe Senser's in Eagan and really enjoyed my food there. Â This location, in Roseville, was gross. Â It stinks like leftover smokers from years back when that was legal in bars in MN. It is dark and the crowd seems to be non-existent. I ordered a wrap - completely disgusting sauce that gagged me - literally - tasted like chemical or soap. Then ordered some nachos with a type of spicy cheesy sauce - rude! It was literally cheese whiz with chunks of stuff just thrown in. Â Waste of time and money. Â Yuck.
Review Source:Need a place for a whole bunch of people to sit, eat game food, drink beer, and be loud? Â Here would be the right place!
The food is okay.  You get large portions and massive appraisers filled with exactly what you'd expect form a sports bar.  I think a  nice touch is the many options in fries: regular, sensor (seasoning on top), and sweet potato.  My burger was a little more well than I like, but that's pretty normal from primarily burger cooking establishment.  The chicken dinner though was like half a chicken, so that portion size was kinda ridiculous, in a whoa way.  Beer glasses come to you cold and in many sizes, yay!
I think the only down side to this place is that it needs better ventilation because the grease smell is a bit strong. Â The interior could use an updating because you can feel and see the wear on almost every surface from all the heavy bar traffic; the dim lighting helps to hide this point.
I do recommend making reservations if you're planning a happy hour or game night event here. Â This place fills quick even though the parking lot is small, weird.
This is a great place to watch sports. They have a ton of HD projection TVs, plenty of space, and even some pretty good specials depending on the night. The food's pretty good too!
Sensor's is probably the best place to watch March Madness, especially when that opening Thursday rolls around. Games all over the place, whatever angle you are sitting! Decided to meet up with friends and Sensor's won the vote. It was a good decision... enough seating for 10+ people, complete with a very nice happy hour specials of 2 dollar domestic taps and half price pizzas.
I think the menu has been changed up a bit, because the food has been quite good... much better than I remember. They've always done good burgers, but now there's more menu diversity.
An example of this are the new pizzas. The happy hour special was a 10 inch specialty for 6 bucks (normally 12). The crust was delicious and the toppings plentiful. I'd recommend this as an app to share.
Here's the most surprising thing I can say about the menu... they added a gator burger. I knew I needed to try it, and I'm really glad I did. It was great! Soft, packed full of flavor and even reasonably good for you, this burger was served with cheese, tomato, lettuce, and some kind of mayo based creation on a white bun. Different than a beef burger in texture, the patty was almost fall apart. This made eating it more of a challenge, albeit completely worth the saucy hands! The texture reminded me of a cross between ground chicken, pork, and turkey. I guess you could say gator is the other... other white meat. Try it!
The beer was reasonable, the food was tasty, and the service was good. I'd definitely recommend coming here for your next sports viewing experience, especially if it coincides with a happy hour.
I don't come here unless there's a big sports event worth watching. And being an avid UFC fan, it makes it easy to come here once a month or so for their PPVs that they air for free on every single TV all around the room. Now the question becomes is it worth hanging out here for 3 hours? For starters, being a sports bar helps. Liquor kills time so we have that going for us. Also their food ain't too bad either. They got your basic apps, burgers, sandwiches, ribs, and specials. But regardless of what I order, I just can't stay away from their white chicken chili. I think it's the best item on their menu. Add a cup to your meal and you get a rich and creamy soup with plenty of chicken chunks. It's like a having a spoonful of happiness enter your mouth despite how unhealthy it may be.
Review Source:Decent. Can't find too many things wrong with this place, although they like projector screens a lot more than real TVs. It's like a 10 to 1 ratio.
Food is okay, but nothing special. Typical bar food, maybe a small step up. They've got your garden variety steaks, salads, sandwiches, appetizers and the like. I had the beef nachos and a cobb salad (I've been hard pressed to find a lot of veggies in Minnesota) and both of those items were tasty enough. Prices are about what you'd expect, although if you're careful looking through the menu, there are some value eats.
Service was surprisingly acceptable for a BCS National Championship game. I won't mind revisiting here!
Absolutely love this place. When there's a big game on, it feels like you're at the game. Private speakers for our table so we could listen to the game we wanted to watch. And the food was fantastic. Great burgers and apps. We tried the Pizza at the Bloomington Senser's and let's just say I'll never look at BBQ chicken pizza the same way again.
Review Source:Starting with the positives: Â The burgers here are very good. Â So is the flying-buffalo sandwich. Â You can't lose with the Senser-Fries + seasoned sour cream. Â They have most of the Sioux hockey games on here, so that's a huge selling point. Â Â Also, Â as an almost-Canadian, I am a huge fan of the Bloody Ceasar. Â Here at Senser's you can get it Gametime style with a small meal on the top. Â YUM-Tastic! Â
Here's a word of warning, though. Â I ordered the turkey burger with pico and guac on it. Â Sounded really appealing, but when I tried to eat it, it was so sloppy. Â Not yummy - sloppy. Â Like, disgusting - sloppy. Â Â Stay far away from that item. Â
Also, I know it's mostly a beer/mixed drink place, but when I tried to order a fun after-dinner drink, the bartender seemed puzzled at my request for something fun, maybe ice-creamy, like a mudslide. Â I got a giant glass of something tasting like a bad white-russian. Â The server could tell I didn't like it, so she returned it. Â Â So, the bartender took the same EXACT drink I refused, threw it in the blender, and sent it back to me. Â Â Ridiculous. Â Â I was like, "um, this is the same as before". To no avail. Â I just got a free crappy drink. Â I know they're not "fine dining" but most places can make a mudslide, am I right? Â I bartended at a dive bar back in North Dakota, and made ice cream drinks all the time. Â Yeah, for a bartender, making frozen drinks can be a pain in the ass, but seriously. Â
Sorry, that was kind of a rant about a minor issue...but anyway, I think they should train their bartenders better or explicitly say that they only make *certain* "specialty" drinks, and are not capable of making others. Â
Just sayin'.
Honestly, I can't say that I've had a delicious meal here.  My family often dines here without me (we're talking 40+ meals) and they say  they have had mostly tasty dinners, but I have not had the same luck in my five or six visits. Â
Once I ordered bacon-wrapped steak that was good but no better. Â I've tried a burger (greasy, and smelled funny), their appetizer pizza (hard as a rock - honestly I couldn't gnaw through the crust and the chicken was sawdusty), salad (nothing to write home about), and last time a beef dip sandwich. Â The beef again smelled funny and tasted... off. Â The au jus was just scary. Â The three members of my party all went home and hit the Rolaids and Pepto which is strange because we have strong stomachs and really aren't very picky eaters.
We will keep trying because hopefully it was an off night and not a new trend. Â The family is usually not one to complain, but we're acquainted with some of the management and wanted to let them know that things had gone south. Â The manager on duty (didn't know him) was very nice, I'm sure he wanted to offer us something but that's not what we were after. Â Also, the napkins were really stinky, I think the constant smell didn't help at all.
Better than the average sports bar. Â The burgers are very good, and although the food has climbed steadily in price over the years, the quality has been maintained. Â One nice thing is that they have smaller burgers for smaller appetites; no need to go for the half-pounder.
Last time we were here, there was a live KFAN broadcast from the dining area. Â It was piercingly loud and not fun. Â Luckily it ended soon into our meal. Â That's been my only bad experience at Senser's in 10 or 12 years.
On the plus side, I don't think there's a vertical surface in the entire place without a game. Â The number of sporting broadcasts is staggering :)
