I went here during the Stars & Stripes festival, so it was probably busier than normal. Â But that doesn't really excuse how crappy everything was.
It was very crowded - shoulder to shoulder for the most part. Â So service didn't really exist. Â If you wanted something, you had to ask for it. Â They were just too overwhelmed to pay attention. Â It was also very hot. Â It was much cooler outside than inside the bar. Â Which leads me to believe that they don't have AC or their AC was non-functional at the time.
The worst part of the experience was the drinks. Â Tiny tiny tiny little plastic cups. Â I ordered a jack & coke, and there was barely anything there. Â Take a small plastic cup, fill it with ice, and you don't have room for much liquid. Â Terrible.
I don't know how the food is, because we didn't bother to order any. Â I don't think the food could be anywhere near good enough to justify how lousy everything else is.
I can't think of any reason to come here, honestly.
I'll start this review with an anecdote about something I saw here:
A table of guys order a round of Irish Carbombs. The Guinness comes in clear 8 oz solo cups, filled less-than-half full. The Jameson/Bailey's was in 1 oz plastic cups. When dropped into the beer, the shots floated on top of the beer instead of sinking.
Oh yeah, and I guess they were eight bucks.
Just one reason why Johnny G's is probably my least favorite bar in Mount Clemens. I'm sad to say that I can't really name any redeeming qualities of this place.
