It's fine... but the wait staff was not attentive at all. Â I guess that's understandable, because there was a single waitress on duty for a Friday night. Â She seemed to spend a lot of time chatting it up with one particular group, and neglected the rest of us.
I thought drinks were a bit on the pricey side, but they were on par with other places on the Eastside... I guess that goes with the location/territory. Â I will probably go elsewhere next time.
Stupid me! I went back with my co-workers for bar night/ wings, and AGAIN they ran my card through twice, thus double charging me This has happened to 3 other people I know at this bar. Maybe debit/credit machines are hard to use?? Maybe the users aren't particularly  bright?? Maybe they're scamming people ( I doubt it, but STILL!)?? But I'm done. I will absolutely NOT be coming back.
Review Source:I had some pretty high hopes coming to the Joker considering this was one of the very few "Coug" bars on the West side of the state. I left slightly disappointed.
From the outside you can see the plethora of neon signs located in the corner of  a strip mall. The actual space is quite large with TV's everywhere. There are a couple of pool tables as well and some good beers on tap as well. We ordered some pitchers and when our server came back to hand them back to us I asked for some food menus and she said "Yes, one thing at a time."
Hoping that things would get a little better, I went with some of their hot wings and a side of fries. I asked the server if the wings were actually spicy, and she said they were. Upon getting my order, about half of the wings were cold. This sucked. I also wasn't a big fan of the sauce they were in as it was too "tomato-y" and not very spicy. I was pretty starving so I ate them anyway but was pretty disappointed.
Normally, I'd probably give out a 2 or so, but I'm feeling generous and will give them the benefit of the doubt that this was a one-time mess up.
While visiting a friend just outside of Seattle, we wanted to watch a Thursday night football game that just so happened to be the Seahawks/49ers. Upon arrival we ordered beer...they no longer serve Blue Moon and there were no more limes left for our Corona. Â We ordered onion rings and it took three requests to get ranch dressing all the meanwhile the rings were getting cold. Â
One would think that since it was a "hometown" game that the bar would be packed and that the staffing should have been appropriate. Â It was not. Â Our waitress passed us several times when we wanted to order another drink. Â We had to flag down two runners to bring us the ranch.
I understand it's a bar, not the Ritz...but was hoping for a little better service. Â I would have ordered a couple more beers. Â I would have rather spent my money at a franchise sports bar than here....and that says a lot. Â Spend your money elsewhere on game days.
Be aware of these scamming wait staff! I went in a tried to pay for my drink and they said they would only swipe my card twice so I should leave a tab open if I don't know how many drinks I'm buying. I think thats a ridiculous rule this day in age because who has cash anymore?? Â I hate leaving tab open cuz I might forget it. Sure enough I did. So I called that night and they said no problem I could pick it up tomorrow because I live in Seattle and didn't want to drive all the way back there. They said they would charge a 18% tip which I was totally fine with. I only got two drinks. So I drove out there the next day and they said they never found my card. Likely story. So then I checked bank account and sure enough the tab was not only closed but a 50% tip was added not 18% like the waitress said, which leads me to believe a staff member took my card. They also used it that night at McDonalds and the snoqualmie casino. I hope they are caught, and get in trouble because that is wrong and illegal. I will not only never return at this bar but I will tell everyone I know including WASU people and on face book about what happened and they won't go here either. This has caused me a huge headache in paperwork to fill out and having to get a new card and account which takes a couple of weeks to wait for. So thanks a lot, you are lucky cuz I should take you to court.
Review Source:You pull up in the parking lot and say...hmm, how do they have sooo many five star reviews. Â Well my friends, the answer is simple...those reviews had to have been written by staff members boosting their ratings up. Â
It is not a bad place, but look, five star dining? Â Seriously? Â
This is a dark bar, plain and simple. Â Basic food in a run down strip mall. Â Service was good enough, but clearly they hire the girly-girls to compensate for the food and to distract from the surroundings. Â SARS may very well have originated in a moldy corner of this place in fact.
French-dip sandwich was alright. Â Again, just a place to grab a bite, but would NOT go out of the way to eat here. Â Also, would not say "Hey man, you really gotta check out the Joker...". Â Nope. Â Would not happen.
After five years of research, I feel safe to say they have the best wings on the Eastside. Spicey is the way to go. Fried, Hot sauce, blue cheese and celery. That's it, as it should be. You won't get your name on the wall for downing some insanely hot monstrosity. Threre's no free t-shirt for eating 50 of them, and why would you be proud of that kind of thing anyway? Fried, hot sauce, celery, blue cheese.
Wednesdays wings are $.50 each.
Sports bar atmosphere, 21+.
I love the Joker! I come here all the time. Â But lately I have been quite annoyed with Fridays because of that tiny brunette cocktail waitress. Â I don't understand why they even have a cocktail waitress there since the bartender ends up doing all the work. Â I sit around forever to get my drink order taken and then half the time she forgets. Â Me and my friends have to go up to the bar most of the time anyways because she is just busy standing around talking to people or is no where to be seen. Â To bad because I really do love this place. Â Just remember to go up to the bar then stand around waiting for some waitress to maybe show up and do her job. Other than that love the food and love that it is a great neighborhood spot for us living in this part of town. Â Order the wings! Get them extra spicy, its the best!
Review Source:Nothin to complain about here. For the most part its your average sports bar: plenty of TV screens, WSU memorabilia, patio space outside for drinking games (cornhole), pretty good food, and a decent drink selection. Gets pretty packed on certain nights (especially games days). Staff is awesome and the atmosphere gets pretty lively
Review Source:I used to frequent the joker every Friday night. The food was good, staf was friendly. However, lately the service has gone downhill. It's impossible to get a drink or even get the 4 foot nothing server to look in your direction (even when she's not busy.) Unless you are up for going up to the bar to order every drink, order food, and then go and search for your food 30 minutes later this place is not for you.
Review Source:Love this place and I try to hit it up weekly or every couple weeks. Â Food is good you have to have the peanut butter bacon burger trust me its a great idea and have that with a Men's Room Red AWESOME BEER. Â Anyways yeah decent beer selection and good food for a good price. Â Wings are awesome and burgers are good too. Â Much more affordable then Issaquah Brew house.
Review Source:Oh the Joker.
Good drinks, and very good food for a bar. Go on wednesday for Wing Night, the wings are some of the best. The BLT is incredible, but only if you like a BLT with a thick stack of bacon, try it as the BLTCE, same big stack of bacon but with cheese and an egg. Also the Burger Dip is good , and just out of curiosity you should probably try the Peanut Butter Bacon Burger.
If only they would turn down the lights...
Dropped in for a late drink, after a really amazing dinner at the Iris nearby. Which led to something akin to culture shock. The Joker feels like a locals pub. There are a couple pool tables, tv screens, tables and a bar. My one complaint was how damned bright it was when we walked in. For a brief moment I thought maybe it was closing time and they were kicking folks out, but no, that's just the ambient lighting.
The bartender served up some strong drinks, and we sat and chatted for an hour or so. Nothing really stood out about this place, maybe because I was blinded by the lights, and not too revved up like a deuce... ok I'm stopping that little bit of not-so-cleverness right there.
Very nice sport bar with a patio and some entertainment (pool tables, etc).
Good for an after hour drink with co-workers and during the European Soccer Cup they had all the games which is not common.
At summer the small outdoor patio is a nice place to hang out. The bar is complete and full of local beer and the food is the typical sport bar food.
Parking is a problem but there are some good options walk distance
