Kelly's Depot Bar

Cheers type bar. Great staff. Never seen it too busy. Fair prices. The seasoned wings with the sauce on the side is delicious and best bloody Mary's around.

Supposedly an Irish bar but not so much. When I asked the bartender for a Guinness in a "Guinness glass" he looked at me like I was crazy. It didn't seem to have anything actually Irish about it. They didn't seem very open to "outsiders" and the bartender seemed especially annoyed we weren't regulars. I wouldn't recommend to visitors.

I genuinely like Kelly's - there are always a few characters in the bar and the overall vibe is laid back. The food is a good value- it's simple, nothing fancy, and very affordable. I found a couple hairs in my burger the last time I was there but it's the kind of place where you shrug, send it back and move on.  In the increasingly gentrified Lowertown, it's a true bar.
