Went with regulars. Â I go occasionally. Â Go for the beer and melts. Â Very good. Â Even though the tuna melt was cold it was still good. Â Also like the tater tots and broasted chicken. Â Server just ok. Â Should have asked how you want the egg on the Sunrise Burger. Â It came well done but we like it runny.
Review Source:Used to love Kennys because the food was decent, it wasn't obnoxiously loud, service was good and it's local...recently however, it's way too loud, food is just awful, service is horrible and it's just not the place it was just a year ago. Â Such a shame. Â They need to step it up and bring it back to what it was; don't know what happened!
Review Source:This place is much bigger than looks from outside of its non-desriptive strip mall location. pretty much an irish bar, but with all the televisions this makes a great TV bar as well. There is plenty of seating and plenty of servers at this bust place. A hidden gem in the middleof no where.
Review Source:Popped in for a quick drink with a girlfriend... or 4 drinks, but who's counting here really? Â It should be like counting during mini-golf, but instead after the 3rd drink they just don't count anymore. Â Cause also, unlike in mini-golf, I can't count to 6 drinks anyways because it starts to get pretty fuzzy. Â Then again, I'm usually drunk on the golf-course. Â But we aren't here to talk about my issues...
They are a nice place and they have a good atmosphere. Â Didn't have too much of a beer/wine selection for those not looking to grab just anything, but let's face it, it's a bar, it is what it is. Â You want the best then you don't go to a normal bar. Â You just want a place to chill, then this place is OK.
The waitress was very friendly, especially talking to my uber drunk friend who apparently really liked her in grade school. I guess this is a big LTHS place. Â Im not from here, so I really liked going out and not having a high school reunion. Â Normally when I go out in Orland I see a dozen people from Sandburg, cover my face with my drink, and look really busy. Â BUT, if you are from the LTHS area and like catching up with old friends, this may be the place for you.
Also, the staff was very friendly. Â Again, when my uber drunk friend decided that the table and floor was the best place for her red wine, they laughed about it and brought over rags and a mop. Â Hey, when it comes to me, as long as the red wine stayed away from my brand new Blackhawks shirt, I was A-OK with it. Â Although they may have liked her being drunk cause she actually stole the mop from them and wouldn't let them clean it up for her. Â She took great pride in her work too.
Only 3 stars cause they didn't have Karaoke that night, and my friend becomes a rock star (in her drunken mind) when highly intoxicated, and that would've increased they score from me by a star at the very least. Â But alas, no karaoke, and sometimes no music either, so the quiet was kinda odd for a bar with no games on and no music. Â I need a little juke-box lovin' when I'm out and about and random bars.
I don't love Kenny's ...I think it's the green wall that gets me. Yeah, that's right. I don't like a place because the color of the wall. But I go anyhow. Because it's not bad. It's not my favorite place ever, but the prices aren't terrible and the servers are actually quite decent as well as the rest of the staff... it's actually quite difficult these days to find a good bartender I have found, and they're pretty decent here. While I almost always search for somewhere else to go, this place isn't half bad. I just don't like the green wall. I'm a paint color snob I guess.
Review Source:If you graduated from Lyons Township High School, this is the place for you. The prices have gone up a little over the years, but this place is still a staple. Conveniently located on 55th street with plenty of parking, there really is no excuse not to visit at least once.
Sure we have all joked about how Kenny's is just a high school hangout and how it is dirty and no one really wants to be there, but we all keep going. I love that this is the kind of bar where you can go to hang out with your dad and friends in one place in a totally not awkward way.
People that come here to eat are stupid. It is a bar, and not the kind that is trying to play itself off as a real restaurant. I had the chicken finger basket the other night and let me just say, it was phenomenal. The grease in the fries really highlighted the golden crispness of my Bud Light. Superb.
I will probably be drinking here 30 years from now, and that is ok by me.
I came here for my dad's birthday this past Saturday night and loved this place. It looks small but the inside is plenty spacious. We arrived early for the hawks game and were able to throw some tables together really fast with the help of a waitress and I think the owner.
The specials everyday are awesome and the food was great. I'm used to bars that don't do specials on saturdays, not even for drinks. But a bucket for $12 plus they had some everyday specials that included mix drinks, another plus for people who don't drink beer.
The food was awesome and the waitress came by often and was really friendly and patient with us. At first, there were a lot of children and families in the area. But towards 8 or 9pm, the families started leaving. I don't have children so I'm not accustomed to them at bars and restaurants like most people would.
I had to leave about 10:30 to meet other friends but around the time I was leaving, I noticed there was a younger crowd, something I prefer in a place. It wasn't overcrowded but it wasn't empty and I really want to come back. I wish I lived closer cause I would be here for all the hawks games.
I purchased a groupon for this business as I'm always interested in supporting local businesses. Â When you walk in, it's pretty much one big room with a bar on the right, high tables on the left and regular tables by the window. It looks like the might have the ability to have bands play, but not sure as there didn't seem to be any posters indicating such.
This place is definitely a local hangout. Â When we were there on a Friday night, it was mostly older folks, like 45-65. Â There were some younger people over by the bar. Â
They pretty much have your standard bar food. Â We ordered mozzarella sticks, spinach artichoke dip, french onion soup, Â reuben, and a grilled chicken sandwich. Â Everything was just ok. Â The soup was really good and my husband thought the reuben was excellent. Â But I'm not sure I would come back just for the food. Â Seems like a nice enough place and the service was very friendly.
Home of the "WHOO-AAH"! Kenny's may not be the most Irish of taverns but the walls inside are least green. Located conveniently in a stripmall for all of your one stop shopping/eating/drinking needs, it boasts a modest bar, some tables/chairs scattered throughout and a smattering of flat screens for your viewing pleasure.
So belly up to the bar and get yourself a boilermaker (ie a shot & a beer) and settle in to watch some sports and cajole w/your boys.
