How can a KFC constantly not have grilled chicken?

Dear KFC,

I actually set an outlook reminder to alert me of the day the Double Down was to be released.  An Outlook Reminder.  I take calorie-laden, bun-less chicken sandwiches seriously, people.

I live downtown.  There are no convenient KFC's near me.  Therefore I drove approximately 20 miles to visit your Bloomington/Mpls border location.  Not that the length of my drive should increase the quality of your food, but a girl can hope for some old fashioned chivalry every once in a while, right?

There were 8 of us in line all talking about the DD and one man at the register ordering a bucket to go.  But you said no.  No, he could not order that because you ran out of chicken.

RAN OUT OF CHICKEN?

Ummmmmmm.  Chicken is what you DO guys.  Don't run out of chicken.  People don't go to KFC for your mashed potatoes (apologies of you do) - they go for your special recipe.

So the verdict on the double-down. Meh.....I can say I tried it.  The boyfriend and I bought 2 - one fried and one grilled to see if one had more redeeming qualities than the other. (Sorry to spoil it for you - no - they did not.)  They were equally average and bun-less, the later being kind of the point, I guess.

In closing, I'd skip this unless you're desperate for chicken. And even then, you may be out of luck.
