I knew when I walked in....

I was greeted by two bodacious Stella Artois girls...

2 Stella's for $5! Ridiculously yummy, not to mention firey chicken wings! Some of the best damn wings I've ever had!

I will be back for more!

This place has an awesome vibe! My boyfriend and I just wanted some where to share some food and grab a drink, so we came here. The service is pretty great, I ordered the Mayan habanero wings which they just placed on the side because of how spicy it was, so my wings didn't have any sauce. The waitress asked how they were and I asked if I could tossed in buffalo sauce instead. She brought them back quickly but the sauce tastes like straight up vinegar. So I just poured the rest of the super spicy habanero sauce and they tasted pretty good. I wouldn't call them the best wings in SF. However, the drinks were awesome and the turkey burger was good! My favorite thing was their Cajun fries! I would come back for the drinks

The bartender was rude, my husband and I were not even acknowledged when we sat ourselves. I had to get up and get our own silverware , and my husband had to go to the bar for our drinks. After we were there for half hour, the bartender came to tell us that the health inspector was there, and we could not get our food. He said that it would be 20 minutes, half hour later, we paid and left, it felt as though that is what they were wanting . My husband and I paid a $40 round trip cab ride to experience san fransisco's best hot wings ....what an absolute disappointment !!!!!

Friends recommended coming here for sports and I watched the 9ers get eaten alive by the Seahawks (which put a significant damper on the experience) and the Irish Hurling Final of Clare vs. Cork. I have to say that I will continue my search for the right sports bar in SF and here is why:

- no drink specials ($20 "bucket of Buds"?! I'll pass!)
- delicious wings are $$$
- not much room if you come in or around game time even with a back dining area
- they charged us $20/person cover charge for the Hurling! Supposedly they have to charge per head for Hurling but jeez that just meant we spent less at the bar!

I had a lot of fun during both of my visits but that was because of the people I went with and the ahem, spirited Clare and Cork fans. There is nothing really wrong with Kezar other than it is really expensive and lacks the more fun vibe of its sister bar Mad Dog in the Fog.

I was in the city for the day and needed a place to kill time while watching football and the A's game. I found this place on yelp and expected to walk in, find a place to squat, and just hang out with a few locals. It didn't take long for me to locate Kezar Pub as you'll most likely hear the people inside before you see the front door. The place was packed front to back with fans of every team playing that morning. From 11-1 I was standing about 5 feet from the entrance as it was useless to try to find a seat. The atmosphere is great as everyone is cheering for their teams and having a good time. The Eagle fans on this particular morning were especially loud. That was until they lost to the Chargers. It was a good time to just stand there, take in the environment, and watch the half dozen or so TVs they have just in the front room.

After 1:00 the place started to clear out and I was finally able to find a seat. Of course I had to ask for them to put on that other bay area baseball team even though they were the only ones making a push for the playoffs. The employees were more than accommodating. They quickly changed one of the channels so I could watch the A's and Rangers game. After a few minutes I was asked if I could move to the back room where they would have the game on and a seat for me as some of the regulars wanted to watch the Broncos game in the front room. While some would be offended I like a place that takes care of its regular customers. I went to the back where there were another 6-8 TVs and a seat waiting for me. Good job on their part on taking care of all their customers.

I'm not sure what time you have to be here for the morning games but from the looks of it I suggest being here by at least 9:30 if you want a seat if you want to sit by the particular tv showing your team.

Kezar Pub is OK - in a city like San Francisco with so many cool places, it's kind of hard to stand out. It was extraordinarily expensive bar food, even by California standards. There's not really a way to eat here cheap - even the domestic beers are really expensive.

That being said, the food is pretty decent. We tried the nachos, wings, cheese sticks, and garlic fries and liked pretty much all of it. It's easy to walk there from the surrounding neighboorhood and it is near a train stop.

They advertise that they show pretty much any and every sporting event known to mankind so that's kind of cool. (For example, they advertise that they show EVERY NFL game.) It's a good atmosphere, and I imagine it would be fun on a game day. We were only there for baseball games, but I bet 49ers games would be fun.

Five stars for THE BEST COBB SALAD I've ever had. Yeah, it was in a bar. Why do bars always have the best salads, anyway? My salad was packed with generous cuts of FRESH (i.e. no precut, reheated, or back of the fridge shit) chicken breast, crispy bacon, and half an avocado. It was tasty, filling, and I didn't even need salad dressing.

Prices are kinda up there. The chicken wings are pretty good. Lots of TVs, so it's a great place for watching sports. Drinks are good. Service is decent. But it's the salad that brings me back.

A couple of my Day Ones from the East Bay and I, met my cuz who lives in the Haight here. We came to watch the Giants play the Dodgers, grab some beers and some snacks before a night of debauchery. Kezar Pub is located across the street from Kezar Stadium.

We ordered the large buffalo wings ($20 - 20 wings) and deluxe nachos w/ sour cream, guac and chicken - $15. We also ordered beers and mixed drinks.

The wings were pretty good. They could have used a little more heat, but they were meaty and plentiful for the price: 4 Stars. The nachos were just OK. I thought the portion should have been larger for the price and the dish could have used more chicken: 3 Stars. The beers were nice and cold, but unfortunately the mixed drinks were weak. We couldn't taste or feel the alcohol: 2 Stars.

The food took a long time to come out of the kitchen. In addition, out waitress Andrea was cute, but a little too inattentive. It took a while for her to take our order, we had to ask her for extra napkins - Come on girl we are eating buffalo wings! - And it took her a while to bring our bill: 2.5 Stars. The ambiance is OK. There are tables in the back, a pool table in the right rear and tables w/ stools in front. The bar has nice handles of beer and a good selection of whiskey, as it should for an Irish Pub: 3 Stars.

I would come back here for the wings, other food and to drink beer. However, the mixed drinks are weak and the service could be more proactive and speedy.

Bought the $29 Groupon for $60 worth of food and decided to spend it with a few friends. We went on a week night so we found good parking and had our choice of tables. I was impressed by the space in the bar. It has a front room, back room, lots of elbow room at the bar, and booth and table seats. We chose a table in the back room and let the server know that we had a Groupon. The good news- we were allowed to use the Groupon towards everything- specials and alcohol included! The bad news- the food was just ok and service was slow, despite the fact that there were hardly any customers.

We ordered a bunch of things:

Fried mozzarella sticks - looked good but were lukewarm and tasted like they'd been sitting out for a while or were microwaved.
Chicken nachos with chicken - ok, mostly cheese and peppers with not enough chips and chicken for the price we paid.
Shepherd's pie - good portion but could use more seasoning.
Buffalo wings - I was really looking forward to these. Although decently sized and nicely fried, the sauce was on the salty side.
Salad - decent and seemed fresh.

The service was intermittent. We sat around a lot and had to flag down the server a few times for water and the bill. The customer service was lukewarm, too.

Great sports bar atmosphere - full bar, a pool table in the back and plenty of seating.

The chicken wings are BOMB, def craved some after my visit. At one point they were voted best wings in the city, so there you go. I had a Magic Hat beer with my order - an smooth apricot taste.

Cant wait to come back!

A freaking awesome sports bar.

Went in for a Sharks/Canucks play-off game this year with a buddy.... as a Vancouver Fan. Was fun walking into a bar where there were Sharks fans all in the front, giving us a hard-time for being opposing fans. But the best discovery was the backroom, in which other Vancouverites (and other Canadian hockey fans) seemed to congregate.

Food-wise, the wings were to kill for, as it was a true pound (or more) of wings. There was also a decent beer selection, but by far the best thing about this place was the atmosphere. Definitely coming back!

The buffalo wings are one of the best in the city. No dinky wings! Also you can watch any sport that you could possibly think of or not think of here. It gets crazy crowded during certain games.

They stop serving food at 9pm on Sundays -- I got a massive wing craving and made the mistake of taking the bus all the way out there. wompwomp

Don't watch me when I'm gorging on these.. It's not a pretty sight.

Don't look at me... I'm hideous!!

Oh right, and mid-chicken wing gorgefest, which is like happy donna, I got a call, and found out that my wallet had been stolen the previous night (not forgotten at home as I thought), so my night turned into sadface wanting to cry into my saddest chicken wings ever. (which sounded something like "god, this sucks *NomNOM *SOB* NOB.. I'M SO MAD.. *NOMNOM*)

I'll need to come back soon to eat more wings to cover up that awful memory.

Seemed like a cool bar
Great Barca fans
Service was pretty slow well basically non existent. And when I finally went to the bar and they didn't have any of the beers I wanted. Thirsty game viewing. Oh we'll.

My favorite sports bar in the City. It's usually filled with locals, and there's a good sense of camaraderie when getting rowdy during your favorite team's games. I love the wings here! Recently went with the dry wings, and they were great. Also had the club sandwich before, as well as the onion rings and calamari. All solid bar food. I love this place!

Kezar Pub is the quintessential sports bar. It is filled with walls of big screen televisions with nearly every game broadcasting, ranging from football to the less popular hockey. Moreover, for the people (i.e. me) who is not sport enthused gal, there are endless board games available to entertain me.

All in all, Kezar Pub lives up to its name by being THE sports bar of the San Francisco 49ers.

Wow, I think I am still in shock as to how poor our experience was at Kezar yesterday. We came in at the end of the Giants game just as it was clearing out, and found a seat. Ordered a beer and a shot, and some food soon thereafter.

About 25 minutes later, and our food hadn't shown up. We ordered the wings (my favorite) and some onion rings as a snack. I know they take a little while, but given the fact that there was no one there it really shouldn't have taken that long. Then I start to hear it; the subtle ding, ding, ding of the cook's bell failing to gain any of the wait staff's attention. I had a minor feeling that it could have been someone else's food, but I was pretty sure it was mine. 5 minutes later, the subtle ding turned into a rapid ringing of the bell, resembling my alarm before I hit the snooze button for the 10th time. Finally, it caught someone's attention. By the time it hit the table, the once saucy wings had dried up and were not even luke warm. It reminded me of food that has been in the fridge for a few days, and I hate that.

Anyways, after letting the unapologetic waitress know about the mishap and that I did not feel like waiting another 25 minutes for round two, I paid for my thirty bucks worth of drinks and left to head over to Underdogs for some tacos. I just think that as a business owner, Cyril should (and would want to) kow about the shortcomings of the staff at Kezar yesterday. Instead of farting around an empty bar, they should be checking to make sure the patrons are being tended to. In the future I'll stick to Mad Dog.

Great pub at the edge of Haight and Golden Gate Park. It looks small from the outside but has a huge indoor area. The front bar opens up into a full back room with lots of tables for groups to sit at. The waitresses are very prompt and attentive; they never left my beer glass go empty. The food looks amazing, so I'm excited to come back and try it. They have a bunch of tv's so its a great place to come if you're looking to watch a game. I'd say this is one of my favorite places to watch sports in San Francisco. I'll give it 5 stars once I get a chance to verify that the food is just as bomb as everything else.

We went here to watch a Manchester United game while in town for our honeymoon. If you don't have a car or live in the neighborhood, it is a bit of a trek off the beaten path. The breakfast food was very good. This is the kind of place I would go to watch EPL games all the time if I lived in SF.

The Kezar has quite a few things to offer the San Franciscan. From playing off as a pub to ex-pats, to being a sports bar and as the anti-hipster magnet, this place keeps it simple as a local bar to most patrons. This place has some wonderful people and staff, and great times to had. Considering I didn't have to shout to talk to those with me, I was happy as a clam. As for those silly kids from the Marina, I would advise them to stay away from this place. Why? Because I don't want them to mess up a good thing.

While I'm not sure about the parking, I suggest that this place maintain the status quo as a locals bar. Most people here have high expectations, but let's be honest, this place isn't about that. However, if you want to catch some soccer or just chill out, this is the place to be. I'm not sure about the quality of food, but I don't see this place as a gastropub. Consider the food trucks across the street, as I wished I had when I visited.

ok I love Kezar and try to go there as often as I can to watch Champions league games...But there's a problem with the amount of time you have to wait before your food gets delivered at lunch time, if you have an hour to eat and try to watch a game also you can pretty much forget about it because it takes about 45 minutes to have your order ready!
by the time food is on the table, you have to go back to work!
What I don't understand is how they can have one waitress running her ass off during service while the bartender cuts his lemons and limes and makes a drink every 10 minutes like nothing else in going on??? why not go on the floor and help out when things get a little out of control!
A little planning ahead would be to hire more staff for big games!
otherwise decent food, beer and good atmosphere if you're into soccer...

Cool place. A lil pricey. Came here to catch a football (soccer) match and was not disappointed. They have plenty of TVs, pool, darts, all the pub staples. And of course a shitload of beers on tap. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich, and although it was delicious, it was still nothing more than a chicken breast covered in buffalo sauce with bleu cheese on a bun. Very simple.

This sandwich, a small order of fish & chips, and five pints came out to over $50 with tip. Over $100 if you count the BS parking ticket I got. Apparently NINE quarters wasn't enough for a short lunch. Screw you, SF Parking Enforcement.

It has to be the best sports bar in the city. The problem is, it is overpriced. A buddy and I went in a bought a large order of wings and a pitcher and it was about 43 dollars which I personally think crazy expensive. Your going to pay 5 dollars for every beer at the very least. You might be able to get a Bud or something for 4. However...

There is a reason why they do this, because they can. They play every single sporting event ever. I go early Sunday mornings to watch the Premier League and then the NFL and you can't beat it. It was always has something to offer and the staff is great, super friendly, and attractive.

And, it's 100 percent fact that you will not find better wings in the city. I don't mind paying for them and it's a guarantee that I buy them every time I'm in there.

Fantastic food, cool staff, even better atmosphere, overpriced.

If you don't like sports bars stay away but if you like great Buffalo Wings then this is the place for you. I cannot comment on anything else on the menu because I had my eyes on Wings and I tried two of their three options, the BBQ and the Buffalo Wings (the third option was Naked). The wings come in two sizes: 10 wings for $10 or 20 wings for $20, the wings come with celery, carrots and blue cheese dip.

The Pub is covered in televisions all playing sports (except for one playing Kitchen Nightmares) and I can only imaging how crazy this place gets during a Playoff Game. I am not into sports bars unless they are playing Hockey so it's not my usual food location. The staff were friendly and service was quick, anyway, on with the wings!

The BBQ wings were pretty good: meaty with a nice BBQ sauce slathered on them, the sauce itself was a good mix of sweet and spicy. These do not however hold a candle to the Buffalo Wings which were excellent! Crispy, meaty, well cooked and covered in sauce, my only two personal grips are that I wish they were spicier and I wish that the Blue Cheese sauce was thicker and not so runny. Otherwise they were excellent.

I've heard a few folks call these "the best wings in the city", they are pretty solid and until I taste otherwise, these are overall, the top contender!

One of the best places to watch the Giants, especially during playoffs. Always packed with true fans, so you have to get there before gametime if you want a good seat (or any seat). A ridiculous amount of TVs just in case there's a Giants game at the same time as a Niners game.

Good buffalo wings , good burgers, good selection of drafts, but cheapest beer is $4 (Bud light, coors light) and all other beer is $5, no happy hour. Waitresses are pretty awesome. Pool is $1

Best buffalo wings in SF...prove me wrong and I'll gladly stand corrected. The chicken tortilla soup is surprisingly delicious. I haven't had anything else on the menu because I just can't get past the wings (the ranch is better than blue cheese).

This place looks like a fun spot to watch some football and if I didn't already have the Sunday ticket I'd probably be here on Sunday mornings, bartering with the bartender to put the NY Giants on the big TV while sipping on a freshly made well garnished Ketel Bloody.

Great place to watch a game. We came around 3:45 on a Sunday prepared for the worst in terms of a crowd. It turns out we had perfect timing....getting there during the down time between the early games and Sunday Night Football.

We were able to grab a large table and ordered a few pitchers and wings. I was expecting the wings to be amazing (they are touted as the "best in the city"), but I found them over fried and a little dry. I did really like the buffalo sauce though...nice and spicy!

I would definitely comeback to watch football or baseball playoff's...Kezar has a great sports bar atmosphere!

My fellow SJ Earthquakes supporters and I invaded the city yesterday for, what turned out to be, a brutally fought match against the Seattle Sounders (I hate that team w/a fire of a thousand burning suns).

Pre-and-post-match, we geared up for the game at Kezar Pub. I don't think the bar staff had any idea that we were coming because they looked simply overwhelmed at the sea of black and blue that had overtaken the bar. That said, they handled our rowdy lot with a smile & friendly service.

Prices were decent - most draughts I recall being $5. For $8, you could get a beer & a shot (the shot choice was at the bar's discretion). I decided I needed to weight down the beer with some onion rings - new beer-battered onion rings, according to the menu. They were decent, though nothing I'd be compelled to order again.

All that said, its location is great. Just off Haight St., I can definitely see myself coming here if I'm in the area and need to get the hell away from the tourists & teenage panhandlers.

Bonus points for rocking a Liverpool flag near the entrance. Any bar that has a soccer team's flag displayed proudly is my kind of place.

I'm not sure why I haven't written a review for Kezar yet. Possibly, because I'm usually a little overserved by the time I get home in front of a computer and can do little more than bang my head against the keyboard coming up with a review that looks kinda like ;akjgoph hov b pno anv i0 90- oigoi few-432=0 g

I'm feeling sober enough now to say that Kezar has great wings, great service (for the most part), and great Detroit, MI fans. RIP Bridgett! You are and will always be missed for your smile, your kind demeanor...oh who am I kidding. I miss your attitude and hatred of the Sharks!!!

I hate pubs but if I had to go to one it'd be Kezar! Went to watch the opening season for Giants here. After one inning, luckily there was 1) parking 2) last open table inside for our group of 3. They have lots of bar food to choose from so we ordered large chicken nachos and garlic fries.

They also had Shock top $16 pitcher specials. Lots of TVs and they turned on the volume for the game which was pretty amazing since bars never do that. Bravo.

My husband comes here all the time as it's a great place to watch games on one of their dozen big screen tv's. They have a lot of beers on tap, decent service, and they serve food. BUT for a place that I tend to frequent more than I'd like to admit, I WISH their menu was more varied. Yes, people love the wings, but if you aren't into spicy wings (i.e. me) there aren't a lot of other "wow" items on the menu. Not to mention this place is a dead zone in terms of cell phone service.

I've come here for big events, like during the Giants playoff season, the 2010 Olympics Hockey game, and St. Patrick's Day and all were a lot of fun.

Kezars is one of my favorite places to watch sports in the city because:
-There are lots of tvs all over the bar, and they're usually labeled with what game they're showing
-The wings are amazing and I think they are the best in the city
-The newscasters sometimes broadcast from there so there's a chance of ending up on tv
-While not specific to one team, there are a lot of Philadelphia fans that frequent this bar (a plus in my book)

Now some of the downfalls:
-It's tough to get a table on a busy day
-Because they show a lot of soccer, getting there early doesn't guarantee you a table since those games start so early
-That's it!

And while this doesn't affect the rating, I stopped going there because they had a regular patron (a Dallas Cowboys fan), who loved showing up to football games to berate the fans and get under peoples' skin. He would get in your face and make obnoxious gestures, and made the place feel uncomfortable. I don't blame it on the bar, but it did affect my overall experience and I wish I could guarantee he wasn't there before deciding whether to go there or Jake's Steaks.

The BBQ chicken wings were freaking fantastic! They were the best that I've ever had bar none. The wings were big, crunchy, and the sauce had a nice kick and sweetness to them.

The staff was pretty professional and friendly for the most part. One of the server did however looked like she was having a rough day. I forgive her though because the wings were so great! LOL!

It was pretty busy with college football fans and the atmosphere was pretty hectic which was a good thing. You don't expect less from a sports bar on college football Saturdays.

I will come back for the wings for sure!

Two days before my wedding last year, I was walking down Haight street in my Liverpool jersey, frantically trying to find somewhere to watch the first leg of the Champions League semi final against Chelsea. I had no idea what we were doing there, but I frantically hopped from bar to bar, looking for someplace willing to show it. Suddenly, some guy bundled up in a jacket stopped me. "Where d'youse think you're goin', laddie?" he announced, ripping open his jacket, ala Superman, to reveal the Liverpool jersey beneath. "Come wi' me!"

And go with him I did. To the Kezar pub, where Liverpool scarves and jerseys festooned the wall, and the clientele was awash with fellow redmen singing "You'll Never Walk Alone." Settling in with a tasty pitcher of Fat Tire, my wife, my soon-to-be best man, and myself prepared for 90 minutes (plus stoppage time) of nerves and hell. (They didn't disappoint, losing 1-0 to Chelsea, but won the second leg a week later, before losing to Milan in the final..)

I've been back since then many times for a match, or for a pint. Place is hopping on the weekends, lots of familiar accents mixed with locals, and the service is usually pretty good. No credit cards-o, friend-o, and the food is pretty bad, but aside from that, perfect pub.

If you are going to come here at Two o'clock in the afternoon on a Saturday, please have a cab be ready to pick you up.

If not, you are more likely to throw up... around Lincoln Ave around midnight.

During your stay, you will be likely to take 3 - 5 shots of Irish Whiskey, 3 - 5 pints of beers, watch a couple of NCAA basketball games and eat a meal or two.

I don't know but wouldn't it be cool if we can have a food fight in the back room? (Irish Accent) ARRR!

FYI: Michael Collins is not a good Irish whiskey, get Jamesons or Bushmills.

ADDITIONAL FYI: Watch your step around Lincoln Ave and 3rd.

FINAL SCORE

California 20
Arizona 24

So here's the real reason why we lost to a bunch of cactus huggers in red outfits.

Somehow a group of 7 Yelpers managed to create a bad mojo vortex at the Kezar Pub this past Saturday, November 11th, 2006 . . . that ultimately put one blue & gold shoelace strap out of bounds . . . and hence threw the game and Ed M off a bridge.

THE CULPRITS:

#1) Jay H. Bitching and moaning about having to wear a red Arizona g-string if Cal lost. Every play. I think she was wearing one already. Traitor.

#2) Who is Elin F? Forgetting the words to the Cal fight song, that's who. And in public. During a key defensive play. Whilst faded.

Give me a C! Give me an A! Give me an L!
What does that spell? *CAL*
Who's going to win? *CAL*
Who am I? (long pause) *oops*
Who are we? (unsuccessful recovery) *CAL?*
Goooo Bears!

#3) Todd E. Granted he never went to college. Was requested by the Bear alums to wear a CAL t-shirt. WHAT DOES HE WEAR? A freaking State of California t-shirt. Bad Todd. Bad Todd.

#4) Carla D. Graciously cheering for the Cal Bears but really channeling hamster energy thanks to Mick F's review that same morning. See http://www.yelp.com/biz/….

#5) Mick F. Absentee. But the party responsible for pro-hamster (neggy-bear) energy dream that siphoned Carla D. See #4.

#6) Rick H. Talking smack to annoying Ohio State dude wearing scary black beads on twine. Rick H if you are wondering why you lost your voice. Annoying Ohio State dude put a ball gag to your voodoo doll.

#7) NISHisHOT. Cheering for Cal on the wrong TV monitor. Innocent mistake really. God damn Michigan wears blue & gold too. Bad stupid girl.

And lastly . . . THE INNOCENT BYSTANDER:

Ed M. A true Cal Bear. He threw the ball. He caught the ball. He never fumbled. He never missed a field goal. He cried bloody tears of pain. And then tears of joyous relief. Only to return to blood once again. Ed M is now in stable condition.

To Kezar Pub. 4 Stars. Outstanding pub & sports venue.

See you Saturday! May we stomp the University of Spoiled Chinese. GRR!
