Oh yeah! Â I'm talking about 'the fish market' at Kona Jack's. Â Where in Indiana can you go and trust that the seafood was swimming the day before. I do here! Â The reviews that speak of over priced in the restaurant, maybe so. Â -- try buying your own and preparing it in your own home. Â Call and ask what came in that morning.
There are a couple of places that I think you can trust the fish monger's dates on seafood in the city and there are many that you can't. Â -just do the research!
FISH MARKET REVIEW: I don't know where else you can get fish like this in Indianapolis. We've purchased a whole snapper twice for our Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes. The prices aren't cheap, but I'd say they are reasonable for getting this quality of seafood in the Midwest. This past Christmas we also ordered a pound of sushi grade tuna. It was delicious.
There are a lot of options, and you can call ahead for a special order. We picked up on Christmas eve morning and the line was just about to the door, so it was good peace of mind to have the order in ahead of time.
