This place is our go-to for carryout wings. Â Just wings. Â Everything else has been disappointing (nachos, sandwiches). Â We previously were ordering wings from TJ Wings but after screwing up our order a few times, we switched restaurants. Â The wings at Kriegers are much larger, although the sauce is not as hot (which is just fine for me since I can't handle any heat without looking like a crybaby). Â The seasoned fries are OK and would prob be better if we didn't limit ourselves to carryout.
My one complaint is the last time we ordered, they screwed up our order - we always ask for sauce on the side, but that didn't happen this time despite repeating it several times when ordering + instead of 18 wings (which we paid for), we only got 12. Â Hopefully this was just a one-time incident so we don't have to find another place to order from.
Krieger's has one of my all time favorite meals. Chicken fingers tossed in their golden honey sauce (You must try this sauce, it is addicting!) and I love their seasoned fries.
I will say, they increased their prices several months ago, and we go less often because of this. I still love their food though.
My husband loves the Cajun Chicken Pasta, and I also like their Chicken Sandwich that comes with sprouts on wheat bread. Lots of good food to choose from! The trivia on Wednesday nights is fun too!
First, the house salad is good. Â The dressing is deffinately original and light. Â Chicken sandwich is good.
Now for the bad. Â The french fires were under cooked, soggy and greasy. Â They looked horrible and tasted as bad as they looked. Â When I asked for new fries and asked that they be cooked a little longer they returned the same way. Â
The French Dip sandwich was nothing more than a cheap waffer sliced roast beef. Â Tasteless and rubbery. Â They should go across the street to the Schnucks and buy some of their Angus Roast Beef.
Â
With that said the prices are not cheap. Â In fact for the quality of the food the prices are actually rather expensive. Â Sandwiches averaged $8.50 and the French Dip was $9.50. Â Now, these prices wouldn't be bad if they food was better quality. Â Lunch for 3 today was over $40. Â That was 2 sandwiches a quesadilla, 3 drinks and a small side salad.
This was the 3rd time I had visited in the past couple years and everytime I say it's the last time i'm going there. Â This time I'll remember why I shouldn't return.
I came here for a quick hamburger and fries and honestly I could have eaten at Mcdonald's and saved a ton of money. The hamburger was rather greasy and the fries bland. I don't know if it was an off-day, but the place was rather dead and the staff didn't seem to care whether I was there, or not. The waitress did come buy twice and checked on me and filled my water. I ordered my typical Rum 'n diet and that was good. Â I guess I expect something better when it is local and this place didn't seem to care during my visit. It truly was a "Meh. I've experienced better."
On the other side of the coin, if you want to meet a friend and have a quiet conversation over drinks and average tasting finger foods than you may have found a nice little watering hole.
So glad this location has survived in the STL area. Â I think there are only 2 left. Â If your craving Kriegers, come on out to Ballwin. Â You will not be let down. Â Same good food, same good service. Â I usually end up spending too much money but that's because I always have to have the wings before my meal. Â I love Krieger wings.
Review Source:As a guy who did not grow up in St. Louis, I don't know the Krieger's chain like the rest of you. Apparently there is something wrong because I hear that several of their locations have closed over the years and this is one of the only ones left.
We come here once a month following a soccer referee meeting at Glaize library and our group can be anywhere from 5-20 on any given trip. The service has always been great. They split our bill up individually which is nice for a group that don't really know each other too well outside of the soccer world.
And probably some of the best/biggest wings I've ever had. Fantastic.
I have not gone to Krieger's in a long time and I don't think I ever went to this location.  New Years Eve my wife and I are not  going out for NYE celebrations so she calls our good friends and we by proclamation it was Kriegers.  I guess I need to add another aside I had not realized how much Kriegers has down sized.  A lot of locations are closed.  It did take me aback when I came on here because the food I had was unique and good.
Whew! Â Was that an intro or what? Â So it is lunch and I am not that hungry but I look at the specials on the chalk board and I see
"The Hot and Spicy Hamburger" Â Hmm. Â I order the burger and it comes with pepper cheese, jalapenos, and their 5 alarm wing sauce. Â It is a 10 oz burger and fries for $10.00. Â On the I never had it before scale it was a great burger. Â Would I order another I don't know. Â My stomach is still bouncing from the thing. Â I wanted to try it and really did not want the results I thought I was going to have on my 60 year old stomach. Â Well there are tums right? Â Big bold burger with big bold flavor. Â
Around the table my wife had a philly cheese steak  hold the onions, hold the peppers, and hold the philly cheese, and add provel.  Sounds like a french dip to me.  She did finish the sandwich off but never made a complaint or compliment.  Same with the friends one had cannelloni and the other a burger.  No compliments or complaints.  It was a $45.00 bill for the 4 of us with soft drinks.  Not a bad price for 4 people.  I think the 3 stars fit perfect.  It is ok and I am sure I would go again.  Glad my wife wanted to go.
