This is the Mexican place that you end up at when you've been out late drinking in Broadripple and nothing else is open. No one goes to La Bamba by choice. They end up a La Bamba, and they usually wake up and don't remember ever going. The food is greasy, better than Taco Bell but along the same lines. Fairly cheap.
Review Source:"Burritos as big as your head" -- that sounds like a great idea! It's not such a great idea if it's gonna come back up later.
I am not a fan. these burritos were not good. It was pretty much a big glob of shady beef. Almost no lettuce tomato or anything. I felt strong indigestion and sick after eating here.
I don't recommend.
Disclaimer: I've never been here completely sober, or before 2am. That said, this is some darn good drunk chow. I don't know what it is but for some reason after a night of drinking and dancing, burritos sound wonderful. Maybe I'll have to actually try one for a normal meal, but my few experiences here have been good. Food has always been delicious and satisfying, service is incredibly fast (impressive considering I've only been there on weekends late at night, with a line going out the door) and I've never had an order messed up. Of all the quick, cheap places open this late in Broad Ripple to get a late night bite, it's always been the most appealing to me. The party scene in Broad Ripple doesn't really appeal to me these days, and since I never lived in Indy (but visited often) I never did it all that often anyways, but there are still times when a burrito from La Bamba sounds fantastic. There's also the convenience factor - after a night of bar hopping it's nice to have somewhere close within walking distance open after the bars close.
