La Fonda De Los Lobos

This is my absolute favorite restaurant!! We usually go closer to close time as it's pretty quiet and we get wonderful service!

Their fajitas are the best I have ever had and I would recommend them to anyone. Their top shelf jumbo margarita IS as good as it gets!

We take our whole family there and they all enjoy it. We were a little unhappy when they switched out their arcade games but my 4 year old still asks to go there all the time just for the chance to win a stuffed animal and to color on their really big kid placemats (she gets a whole cup of crayons and could not be happier!)

And to top it all off they have DELICIOUS fried ice cream!

La Fonda has decent food. It reminds me a lot of Chula Vista in West St. Paul, which is nostalgic for me (my family would go there for birthdays when I was a kid). I went there with a person I PCA for; it's his absolute favorite restaurant. The staff working that recognized all made it a point to say hello to him, and he was over the moon about the free birthday dessert!
We had an attentive waiter, the food came out extremely fast, and the atmosphere is kitschy but in a quaint way. It's definitely clean and honestly, the promptness of the staff and food delivery is astonishing compared to other places where you wait for eons for simple orders-definitely not the case here.

I forgot to take my receipts (have to file them for work) and when we stopped back in later that evening they were extremely nice about getting them printed off for us, so that was a bonus!

Some co-workers and I went to La Fondas as a group to celebrate.  Never again.  The food was not good across the board.  Two of my co-workers had their orders completely wrong and it seemed when they went to "fix" this the servers had brought the SAME plate back minus whatever was wrong.  I suspect this because one co-worker was still finding some bits of tomatoes in their food.  The chips and salsa look straight up like they came out of a bag/jar instead of being homemade.  However, the thing that upset me the most was our drinks were watered down.  To the point of seeming clearish on a rum and coke order.  We complained to the server, and the next couple rounds of drinks were decent.  However, when we got the bill we were surprised that they had charged us double for those drinks.  We complained and they would not fix this.  We also called the manager the next day and not only were told they would not fix this, but we were "foolish" to assume that the drinks wouldn't be charged more if we said they weren't strong enough.  I guess La Fondas is foolish to think we would come back after such a bad all around dining experience.  If you are in Eagan and looking for a good Mexican restaurant go to El Loro on 13 and Cliff or on Pilot Knob and Yankee Doodle, its a much better restaurant.
