every dish exceeded my expectation, one of the best price performance restaurants I have been to. I didn't expect such nice food in the middle of nowhere.
The only complaint is, there is a bar in the basement, Â and somebody was smoking under there, which made the main dinning room full of smoke smell. Â This bothered us especially we had children with us. I don't know if that's even legal sb smokes inside a bar or a restaurant .
I would give it 5 star if nobody was smoking in the basement.
Very elegant and classy restaurant in the middle of nowhere. The restaurant isn't really surrounded by much besides a bar that's located in the same building.
The interior was very quaint and quite romantic. The food was amazing. We started off with a well seasoned shrimp appetizer and a garlicky mussels appetizer. Our entrees were equally tasty and everything was cooked perfectly (we had an excellent paella and prime rib).
We went during the end of the skiing season and so the restaurant was understandably empty. Other than our timing, I can't think of any other reason why La Vina wasn't bustling busy since it is easily the best restaurant in the area. I would definitely return!
I would not expect to find good Spanish/Portuguese food deep in the Poconos. Â That being said, I was pleasantly surprised with La Vina. Â Nice decor, service was very good. Â The onion soup was a bit on the salty side but flavorful nonetheless. Â The menu is Italian/Spanish/Portuguese which is a little overwhelming. Â The Spanish dishes were very good, my shrimp and garlic was done just right and the others at the table enjoyed their Paella. Â This was proper Paella, served in a pot with an abundance of seafood, flavorful rice and an excellent chorizo in the Paella Valenciana. Â Dessert was a couple of very tasty cannolis. Â Overall, a very good experience, I would definitely go back to try something from the Italian side of the menu.
