Let me get right to it, the place is highly overpriced.
Weak drink in a pint glass $9
Half of a hot sandwich, $9+ (comes with nothing)
Soup, about $1 an oz. bowl had about a 1/2 inch of soup in it.
I went because of yelp and was embarrassed after I recommended this place.
The food was good but I left wanting to go to another restaurant to get a meal.
One waitress was having a nervous breakdown and semi crying while serving. Another waitress was not actually on duty but helping out. Did not see anyone managing the place.
I spent the summer in West Milford and was so happy to find this place. Don't be fooled by the exterior. It's very nice inside and there's a great view of the lake. Â The Spring Mix salad is amazing- the creamy balsamic is my favorite dressing ever. The chipotle ribs are so soft and flavorful. Â All the sandwiches are really good too. If you're very hungry, definitely try one of the specials. Every special I have ever ordered is fantastic. There's always such a great variety. One week the specials have a Latin flair, next week it's cajun, etc. It's definitely upscale cuisine without any pretension. Also, the beers on tap are so cheap - even craft ones. Everything is under 5 bucks! It's worth a trip even if you're not from West Milford.
Review Source:Latitude 41 is an excellent addition to the Greenwood Lake/West Milford area. The owner/chef is a friendly and always asks how everything was... You can tell he and his wife take a lot of pride in their work. The food is outstanding. The steak with Gorgonzola butter literally melts in your mouth, and the seafood dishes are just as delicious as ones I've had in Maine. Some people have commented about how the plates are small, but to be perfectly honest, they are the right size and I've always left there full (plus, you enjoy every bite!). I wish Latitude 41 nothing but success, and I know my husband and I will continue to be regular customers! : )
Review Source:Rough on the outside so the food that is provided is a pleasant surprise. Â The crab and artichoke dip was fresh and flavorful, the mussels in brown butter sauce and pepper was also very good. Â The rib-eye was a little disappointing, not as tender as I'd hoped, but it was cooked properly and the crab cake isn't what I'd call a crab cake, but I'm comparing them to actual MD style crab cakes. Â They were flavorful, fresh, just not what I would consider a crab cake, maybe they should call them crab fritters or something along those lines. Â Service was very good, attentive & friendly. Â Will definitely be back,
Review Source:Love the food. Decor is not great, but the food makes up for it. Just know before you go that it is mainly a tapas restaurant, so the plates are not big. Not that you expect that they will be with the price of them, but they are not. People sat next to us the last time we were there, and complained that there wasn't enough food the entire time that we were there. Kept adding more food as they went. Never had anything bad. The frogs legs are awesome. The fried mozzeralla, as well as the lamb chops are excellent too. Try it - don't let the exterior fool you.
We need good food in West Milford - and this is one of the best!
Lakeside Dining  A Bit Unpolished  Seasonal Menu  Quality Proteins
This unassuming lakeside restaurant has been slowly evolving as the revenues increase needed improvements to the building follow. The building itself has been unoccupied for many years, so I can imagine this was a difficult undertaking. The chef/owner has great vision and skill, time will tell as the renovations continue if they can get the atmosphere in line with the food pricing.
The menu is well though out and the execution of the dishes were in line with the descriptions. Service was a bit clumsy but very nice, we sat in the bar/lounge area and enjoyed a good view of the lake. Our plan was to sit on the outdoor deck, it was not very large or appealing in its current configuration.
Food service was spaced nicely allowing time to enjoy our appetizers, soups and salads before the entrees were presented. Well plated and cooked to the desired temperatures we enjoyed our meal here at Latitude 41. I just hope they concentrate on being a great restaurant rather then another bar with food on the lake.
Keep moving forward Latitude 41
I am new to the weekend Greenwood Lake scene...and WOW! This place is perfect...very casual, very funky and very real NJ! (Not the Jersey Shore Cast variety!) I was able to celebrate my birthday there on 4th of July, had a lovely lunch...great view, very good service. I agree with the Diamond in the rough Yelp. But right from the get go...they have it right... I LOVE their funky chairs!!!! Vintage, friendly and fun rules...can't wait to hear the live music. Rock on Latitude...you are going in a great direction! to 5 stars! Â Trish
