A little gimmicky, but overall solid. Far superior to its neighbor Cheeseburger in Paradise. Probably the best option for dinner in that plaza.

They tend to have good specials on beer, making it a decent place to drink (though, the selection is nothing outstanding.)

It can get crowded and its honestly more expensive than I'd like (compared to Cheddar's which has a lot of similar menu items.)

An excellent, though pricier, alternative to any of the Applechili Tuesdays out there.

Despite a manager that does seem to care about his customers, I had a server that argued with me when she messed up my order. Wrong move, lady. Oh, and by the way, Ms. Rude, it is a "beurre blanc" sauce, not a "bublahnk" sauce. Do you even know what "beurre blanc" means? You should if you work as a server. I canceled my order, ate nothing, and will not return. Update: The manager was apologetic about my experience and gave me a card for a free appetizer. The manager offered to replace my meal with the correct order, but I politely declined. Although the server left me with a bad experience, the manager did what he could to try to rectify the situation. Although I will probably not return, the manager responded appropriately.

I don't remember anything that happened before or after I put the BBQ pork quesadilla in my mouth.  It was so good I'm almost afraid to eat it again in fear that I will never reach that same high.  I'll just spend the rest of my life going from quesadilla to quesadilla, praying to reach that same level of nirvana.

With all the topnotch reviews, we went to Lee Roy Selmons on a Friday evening to experience it ourselves.  Overall it's OK, but just okay...

The environment was loud and festive (think Chili's) with plenty of fried and otherwise heavy food items on the menu.  They do have a unique slant with their regionally ethics food.  I did enjoy their grits and jalapeno mac n cheese side items.

I think this would be a great spot to cozy in for a few beers and watching sports, but for a dining out experience, there may be better options.

My wife and I went here for lunch and were not impressed.  We shared the pulled pork and the pulled beef sliders with side salads.  The beef was a bit dry and the pork had lots of chunks of fat in it.  The side salad was horrible.  It was a bit of chopped lettuce shredded cheese and soggy cucumber (looked like it was once frozen).  We'll have to give it another shot to see if other things on the menu were better.

The food here is great.  There are a lot of TVs and the liquor prices aren't bad.  I give a 3 out of 5 stars because of the service.  Coming in, our group tried to sit strategically as to not have some of the servers, who looked visually unhappy and unapproachable.  As a group of middle aged men, we all came for beers after golf.  One golfer left his ID at the golf course, and the server refused to serve him.  My friend is 30 years old.  At any rate, since the server made a big fuss out of it, we demanded to see the manager.  She went to the back, some shady guy came out, went back into the kitchen, then our server came out and said that he didn't have time to deal with such matters.  We left, and never came back.  Too bad, because the food was good.  Lee Roy, if your staff is uncomplimentary, your clientele will be unforgiving.

Nice little sports type bar. I had a pulled pork or beef sandwich. It was a nice little special they had and it came with a beer. It was nice. Good little place.

Good value from this budding chain with food that's better than most of similar scale. Fried chicken is amped up with a nice sweet chili sauce with a bit of kick. The smoked wings are a love/hate type app. Personally, I'm a fan of the smoke style but don't find myself jonesing for them.
One thing I will order every time is their gumbo. Standard recipe but made well. Nice touches in service. Great spot for games.

Awesome food.  Miguel and I have been here 6 times already this month for Spring Training.  It's our go to place for great food and great service.   The manager really has the right idea about what people want from an eatery.

    highly recommended.

I'm in Naples and my friends will be staying in Sanibel.  Half hour from each is Lee Roy's.  Thought we should try it before the friends arrive.  So 4 of us previewed what we thought was a sports bar chain like Miller's Ale House.  what a great surprise.  When an 80 year old retired attorney from NYC said that everything he had was terrific you know something special was going on.  Would you believe grilled rare Ahi Tuna done perfectly!  And reasonably priced.  Same in Naples would be $15 and here it was $10 for a large family order.  I had the MVP sampler plate with a half order of brisket quesadilla; 5 fried green tomatoes; and 5 or 6 grilled wings.  Plus sauces for each.   I love FGT and these were the best I've hard in 40 years.  And the special dipping sauce was awesome.
We moved onto entrees:  a double green salad; a slab of St Llouis spareribs; a spinach salad; and a combo slider plate with 3 pulled pork sliders and 3 cheeseburger sliders.  No where would a chef/cook make these 2 1/2 to 3 oz burgers to order but these little gems were cooked perfectly medium-rare.   Flavorful and melt in your mouth delicious.  And very tasty smokey pulled pork sliders.  By the way, our waitress suggested the quesadilla should be made with smoked brisket.  (that way we had brisket; ribs; pork; and burgers).

I noticed three policeofficers chowing down in a booth as we left.  You know the adage: "if police officers, firemen, or truckers eat there the restaurant has to be excellent".  Of course I asked what they were eating and two of the three were devouring the steak with a parmesan/garlic aioli.  Fork tender they said.

OK we are coming back for the Super Bowl this weekend with six  (4 friends from Memphis).  Can't wait to see what they think about the smoked meats; ribs and tomatoes.

    Will report later...

Suggestion is for you to try it - you won't regret it.  Tell Greg, the GM, that the Burgermaven sent you.  And yes Ameera is a first class/five star wait person.

enjoy the food and the game!

This is how you do a chain restaurant.

    Food: Awesome

    Staff: Friendly

    Prices: Low

Happy Hour: Always ($1.99 Drafts all the time, $3.50 Ketel One Thurs)

TVs: Huge, Everywhere in the bar

    To sum it up,

The portions are large and the food is good enough that you will want to eat it again leftover.  The staff is always nice and I have never had to wait for a table or even a drink.  In terms of value, LRS can't be beat.

    Tried and True:

Smokin BBQ Quesadillas - Pulled Pork is our favorite

    Back Country Nachos

    Pulled Pork Platter

Any of the Burgers (especially the heart-palpitating Dewey's Burger - Pulled Pork ON TOP of a bacon cheddar cheeseburger)

    Dynamite Mahi Sandwich

And above all, ask for the Oklahoma BBQ sauce for slathering everything up.

I always stop by Lee Roy Selmons when on the west coast, and most recently visited this location. This particular location is as good as any of them. I would say this is the best midrange chain restaurant out there, or maybe just the best chain restaurant period, serving classic Southern style and comfort foods with a twist. I have dreams about the corn casserole, and actually about all of the sides, which range from indulgent to unusually healthy (brown/wild rice, Southern style greens). The pulled pork is some of the best, BBQ chicken is always good, the prime burger (USDA Prime for 10 dollars?) was juicy came out medium-well as asked, with awesome fresh tasting veggies and a soft bun that handled all of the juices. The menu has plenty of variety like a chain restaurant should, yet there is really not a bad item to order. Service was excellent, very quick yet not rushed, and friendly (or maybe I'm too used to Ft. Lauderdale/Miami).

We just love this restaurant. Just about everything I have ordered is wonderful. Mamma Selmon's wings, fried green tomatoes, the fish sandwich, the BBQ chicken salad, the sliders, the Twisted chicken, pecan pie, fries. This is our go-to place when heading out with no particular cravings. Guinness beer too!

We went for the Kentucky Derby and was impressed. Pretty good food for a chain establishment. Very impressed with the chicken wings because they were grilled rather than fried.
    I'll return during football season

Had the Mile High pulled Pork sandwich, it was excellent, tasty and tender.  My wife and daughter split the pulled Pork Sliders and they loved it.  We also ordered the Sweet Potato fries, again excellent.   The prices are great too, Lee Roy does not gouge your wallet, very reasonable prices.
We'll be regulars from now on, whenever we're in the area.  Great job Lee Roy!

Ate in the Ft. Myers location on a Saturday Night...

This place is Slap your Mamma good!  (I wouldn't advise slapping anyone related to Mr. Lee Roy, however, unless you want a former NFL Defensive Tackle running you down)

I'd give it five stars just for being a chain that has off-the-chain great food!  Service was excellent and attentive; we were a group of (14) and they handled us just right.

First off, the Fried Green Tomato appetizer was excellent - perfect crispy breading, tomato creamy-sweet inside, and an awesome dipping sauce.  If this also came as a side, that would be even better.

The Wings are best-evers, super tasty (again, without being overbearing) and moist, and the seasoning was the perfect complement to the ultimate soft-chewy texture and crispy skin.  Great dressing-dip, and lots of fresh, big green celery stalks (instead of the usual limp, wimpy ones most places serve)

The Pulled Pork and Brisket Sliders primed us to order them both as meals - plates to be exact.  Both super-tender and smoky-flavorful, but not overwhelming smoke or taste, just perfect.  Moist, melt-in-your mouth, and great with the assortment of four table sauces.

The Greens Medley was tart and perfectly cooked.  I haven't had greens like this in a long time.  The Cornbread Casserole is really almost a corn pudding - dip a forkful of this into the gravy, and take off - it's amazingly good.

If you want to split a great plate, order the Selmon Family Platter - there's more than enough food for two, and taste enough for a whole stadium.

All of the desserts were great, but the Bread Pudding is another standout; warm, creamy and sweet, with just the perfect balance of taste and texture.  Outstanding.

Can't wait to go back!  Great job, Mr. Selmon!

This place is great, I try to have the wings here every time I'm in town.  If you like wings you have to try Selmon's Wings which are smoked for 24 hours and then grilled.

Ate there when they first opened and the kitchen had "issues". Went back and it was a very good meal. Love the ribs and I'll second the rating on those baked beans ! Since Smokey Bones closed this is my place for ribs. I shy away during the NFL season, but it is on my
Sunday mid afternoon dinner rotation list, also a place to take visitors.

One of my favorite chain restaurants in Ft Myers! Everything here is delicious.

The staff here is wonderful. Some of the best service I have received in Ft. Myers. They are always friendly, quick, and very attentive. Each time I've been here the manager has stopped by our table to make sure everything is going well.

Each time I've eaten here everyone in my party has been very pleased with their meals. They offer a variety of tasty dishes and even have a gluten free menu. They also offer a gluten free beer! I don't have a gluten allergy, but I always appreciate it when places make it a point to offer gluten free items on their menus.

I'm a big fan of ending my meal with some of their delicious bread pudding.

Seriously, if you're in the mood for something tasty and reasonably priced, give this place a chance.
