Discovered Lexington Beerworks online prior to a trip to Lexington to cover the 2013 NCAA Basketball Tournament. In person it turned out to be even better. This is an outstanding beer bar, and that comes from someone who is a serious craft beer aficionado and has visited many other beer bars in many other locales. You can go to places elsewhere with more tap handles, but you won't find a better lineup of quality brews. I continue to follow them on facebook, so I can promise you it was not just lucky timing when I visited. Their flight night offerings are always intriguing and well thought out. Their bottled beers list is extensive. And the folks behind the bar are cheerful, welcoming and knowledgeable.  The atmosphere is classy, this is no dive. But it is comfortable, and has a nice intimacy that allowed me to strike up conversations with strangers at the bar. I spent little more than an hour there before departing for dinner at a place they recommended (good recommendation there, too), but left feeling as if I'd made new friends and each time I see their updates on facebook, I wish I could return to Lexington more often. Seriously, I miss the place - it was that nice. As an aside, they also have a nice little homebrew shop, too, and offer lessons for beginners.

I used to tell people I didn't like beer, but turns out I just hadn't found one I liked. Thanks to LBW, I've now found several! Whether you're a craft beer connoisseur or just looking for a change from your Miller or Bud, you can definitely find something tasty here, and the staff are completely friendly and willing to help you out if you're not sure what you'll like. It can get pretty busy on the weekends, but when I've come in weekdays, they're always happy to chat a bit and help me find something I'll like.

Price-wise, I don't have a lot of experience with craft beers at other places, so I can't compare, but most options are $4-$5 per glass or bottle, with a few exceptions. I'm a starving grad student and I'm happy to spend my bar budget here. Best part for me, it's just down the street from where I live, so I stop by as often as I can afford!
