Friday night coming home from the airport - 7:00 reservation. The place was crazy busy. There was entertainment. The food was WAY TOO SLOW! It is clear they do not have enough kitchen staff. Why seat people if you can not deliver the food in a timely manner? Close off one room!! The server had too many tables and a trainee with him. The food was not bad but it was almost an hour between salad and main course.
It is a shame but reminds me of a place that says - its high season lets get em while we can. The hostess was dragging chairs thru the dining room, a customer got up and helped her mainly because it was so annoying to watch. Then she picked up a chair over her head and carried it thru the dining room. Terrible ambiance.

It is a shame - nice spot.

What a pleasant surprise, being a tourist place, the best meal we had so far since we been here. The burger was cooked exactly the way it was requested. My quesadillas were excellent!  We then went back to dinner the following night and had another excellent meal!

Had dinner here tonight.  We ate early as we wanted to enjoy the sunset.  Shared a crabcake appetizer--wonderful!  Lobster bisque--fantastic!  Great panko and pistachio crusted grouper.  All in all a great dinner with a wonderful sunset.  Would return!

This place has a nice location which is the only good thing about it. The interior is tired looking. This is the first review I have written but after dinner last night I decided to let others know our opinion. This is the second try we have given the Lighthouse in the last couple of years. We went on New Year's Day evening so they were not rushed or busy.
I ordered what I thought was a safe bet, pasta with olive oil ,tomatoes, olives and artichokes. The bowl came with the pasta in a black sauce! They had opened a can of black pizza olives and added the whole thing with the juice, a ton of capers, a few artichokes and few tomatoes. Should have been simple to make.Worst pasta ever! Others ordered onion soup, raw onions.
Tuna, looked like it was microwaved to thaw first, did not even look like tuna!
Chicken Marsala, chicken was undercooked and highly tenderized .
This place is a tourist trap. They cater to tourist only, locals would not eat there. I am not sure who would give them the good reviews saying it was fresh food. We went for second time because friends wanted to go and we were giving them benefit of the doubt, but never again.
Never saw any manager paying attention to what was going on. The owners seem to spend a lot on advertising but need to put the money in fixing the place up and bringing in good staff and cooks.
We have been dining in the area over 25 years. There are many very good local places on the island to dine at less or the same price range. Spend the toll to go to Sanibel and read reviews , you will find much nicer places to dine.

This restaurant is not accommodating.  They have no signs and even seated us in their outside dining area when we arrived with the dog on a leash.  After serving us cocktails another waiter came up a half hour later and informed us we would have to leave or put the dog back on the boat.  There were no other people even on the porch. He said this was their policy and health department regulations.  We then went to Rum Runners where they seated us immediately in their outside area with other diners and brought Bentley a dish of ice water without us even asking for it.

    Good food and beautiful scenery.

My husband and I visited on a Sunday night and were promptly seated and served. The wait staff was friendly and willing to offer suggestions. Their head to toe black uniforms complimented the formality of the menu, but the slightly worn interior of the restaurant seemed to suggest otherwise.

We ordered a bottle of white wine, shrimp cocktail (delicious), and I ordered the filet (lacking in seasoning and slightly heavy on the charred flavor), and my husband ordered the shrimp linguine (looked and tasted wonderful, the shrimp were butterflied and full of flavor).

Overall a nice place to go for a nice meal. Nothing outstanding or impression-worthy, but I imagine its a place we would go to again.

Started out well with escargot, but grouper was very over cooked as was the veg medley. Also had an uninspired Caesar salad. All in all, a little worse than you would expect from a touristy area.

There is no better place in the area to enjoy unbelievable food, a beautiful surrounding, and amazing live entertainment!   We dined here not one night, but both nights of our little weekend getaway and were blown away both times.  The cuisine is absolutely delicious from the appetizers to the dessert.  I could eat the lobster bisque and bruschetta everyday!!  Everything is so fresh (especially the seafood) and the ingredients used are some of the finest available.  Every plate that came to our table gloated the efforts of the kitchen.  The service is fantastic and you can just tell that everyone working here shares a great pride for the restaurant.

Lighthouse is ideal for parties of all sizes.  There is plenty of comfortable space to eat at the bar if you are coming solo and want to treat yourself an incredible meal (and drinks).  If there are two of you, the waterfront location will give you and your date the most romantic setting and you can even take your love a step further onto the dance floor- Chris, the singer/musician is one of the most talented live performers I have seen anywhere (covering anyone from Stevie Wonder to STP and performing his original songs).  Or, bring the whole gang if you want... as a matter of fact, after talking to some of the staff, we learned that they often do private events for large groups, which is no surprise since the place is rather large and perfectly set up for parties.

Another cool thing is that even though the dining experience is first class, the clientele can 'come as your are.'  It's not a stuff environment at all... many guests looked like they came right off their boats, while some decide to get dressed for the occasion.

Now that I've read this all back, I kinda sound like a commercial for this place, but if that's what it takes to convince you to experience it for yourself, I'll end with, "now back to your regularly scheduled programming!"

The best Grouper I've had in a long time. Very good Key Lime Pie too.  Add to this a beautiful sunset and it's a can't miss for dinner.

By far one of the best meals we have had anywhere, not just in Fort Myers. Service was excellent, drinks were strong and delicious and the food was to die for. I had shrimp and scallops and my boyfriend had mako shark, both exceptional. Try the sweet tea martini and the candy basket for dessert! And get there for the sunset, you might even see manatees!

The best part of dining at the Lighthouse is the setting; romantic and classy with great views off the terrace. Beyond that, I would rate the food a '2' (unimaginative and bland), the service a '4' (prompt and generally attentive, but had to ask for water), and the value a '3' (price as expected, wine list relatively cheap).

Appetizers were well done and quick to the table.  We had the ahi tuna  and the Gorgonzola pub chips.  For dinner one selected the grilled grouper with crab and asparagus- very tasty!  The Caesar salad with blackened Shrimp was some of the best prepared shrimp.  The lamb came as requested- medium rare. Finally the blackened mahi mahi was prepared to protection.  The portions were filling without being over the top.  The service staff was very attentive.  Try the sweet tea martini!

This is by far the best restaurant in the area. The Caesar salad is the best I've ever had, my only complaint is they wouldn't share the recipe for the salad dressing! I had the crab cakes which were done perfectly. The wine list is varied and has some good wines to choose from at a reasonable price. Definitely worth a try! As far as the entertainment.... He sounded like a cross between Bruce Springstein and Billy Joel and was great!

My in-laws take us here when we visit them in Florida. They have yummy fish, good presentation and efficient service. They have a great view of the water. The grouper was good and their Cesar salads are huge with fresh parm shavings. Yum.

My father in law is obsessed with osprey so he'd be pissed if I didn't mention it in my review. They are just birds that build their nests on a super tall stilts but I guess they're fun to watch...if that's your scene.

I have been to this restaurant in the past and had a good meal.  I was there last week, and it might be the last time I go.  The food was ok, basic fare (had blackened grouper), service was just ok.  Worst part was they had "live entertainment".  There was a guy with a guitar and a sound system that was pegged at 10....granted this was southwest Florida and 50% of the clientele had hearing aids, but it was obnoxiously loud...and not that good.
