Taco Tuesdays
Many moons ago, I used to go to LPP's Taco Tuesdays  but they had lost their touch.  I stopped going to LPP all together. Â
I recently went back and am so glad that I did. Â The bean/beef $2 combo is tasty. Â If they have the steak/chipotle taco special, try it. Â The $2 (and odd change) Mexican beers are pretty sweet too.
Just in case you had the same opinion of LPP like I did, the interior is the same as it was 15 years ago. Â The restrooms are still in basement (plumbing has appeared to be in better shape than yesteryear). Â And they have a gargantuan patio in the back. Â Service is hit or miss. Â Knowing all of this (no surprise expectations), you may want to re-check out LPPs taco Tuesday
Cajun french fries.
I come in most of my Taco Tuesdays for the service and delicious tacos. Â Jen is usually bartending, which makes my experience more entertaining and fun. Â The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is always different. Â
If you are looking for a place local with great prices, you should check out LPP.
P
I usually enjoy the layed back atmosphere in addition to a moderately priced beer. Â My most recent visit was rather disappointing. Â I walked out of the bar because I sat for 17 minutes without service. Â The bartender looked in my direction several times and was clearly confused about her job description. Â I suppose it is possible she was overwhelmed with the other two customers.
Review Source:I enjoy going to Lincoln Park Pub and will always recommend it as a great place to get a cheap beer. However, this review is more related to the food on a Monday night.
Again, I have not had their Taco Tuesdays, so take that into consideration as well. We went into LPP on a cold Monday in February to have some beverages - cheap beer, good drinks. After a couple rounds we ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and a dozen wings. The grilled cheese wasn't particularly good, the wings were fine, and the fries with the sandwich is fine.
But let's be honest, you don't go to LPP for the food. I would and will go again, and probably eat the food. But not expect much for it.
To reiterate what I previously stated: $1.25 saucy tacos are totally worth it and delicious.
The downgrade, however is because of the service. Last time, they were short a staffer, but this most recent time, it seemed as though they were full staffed and bar service was still confusing, strange, and not very good. I sat at the bar waiting for my handsome accomplice for a full 5 minutes before anyone took notice that I/we had arrived. There was no greeting when we walked in/up to the bar and when our drink orders were taken, our bartender walked away, just out of arms length and ignored us for a bit. I'm pretty sure we looked hungry. I'm pretty sure we were talking loudly enough about what tacos we wanted. I'm pretty sure we looked settled on our amounts and flavors. I'm pretty sure she just didn't feel like asking for our orders right then...
Lincoln Park Pub is a great neighborhood bar. I lived in Tremont for a few years and this one of our favorite spots. We still frequent here often. They have Meatball Mondays, Taco Tuesdays and more specials through out the week. I have not had their tacos but my husband raves about them! The beer selection is pretty decent along with the pricing. I highly recommend going here the next time you are in Tremont!
Review Source:It's warm out and what's that mean? Â Taco Tuesday Time!
LPP has an amazingly large patio. Â This is good because on Taco Tuesday the place is bustling! Â They are usually short staffed so plan on being a little more understanding than your typical restaurant stop. Â I mean, look around - all the tables are full. Â Give them a break.
The LPP tacos are in my opinion, some of the best tacos around. Â For $1.25 you can order from a plethora of sauces and their Mexican beers are all discounted too. Â The LPP tacos are fried tortilla shells so they are sort of a mix between a hard and soft shell. Â Plus so long as you're there on a good night, the meat/bean flavored with their delicious sauce is absolutely to die for! Â I want to eat 4...or maybe 5 and feel sick afterwards! Â
So check it out. Â Eat a taco. Â Have a Corona. Â Play some cornhole and enjoy your warm summer Tuesdays...
I stopped in here during Yelp Drinks week for a half priced long island. Â It was the first stop on our Yelp Shuffle de Tremont and it was a good one. Â
The service was perfect, attentive yet not overbearing. Â We should have stayed longer but we had places to go (and drink). Â It's very low-key and comfortable inside, with good company. Â I wish there were more barstools. Â We actually tried to go back after our 4th stop, but we didn't want to sit at a table and there were no stools available. Â
I'm sure I'll be back again.
I think Merry Arts wins for the best $1 taco in town, but this place isn't half bad. Â They have a great patio, and it definitely isn't pretentious AT all. Â It is what is is - cheap beer and good tacos. Â
I just wish they would update the bathroom situation ... they are pretty awful.
Lincoln Park Pub is one of those places that you'd expect more people to know about, but thankfully most don't.
Although it's packed on glorious Taco Tuesday, it's not to the gills with with weirdos. Mostly it's just Tremont locals who know where to find great food on the cheap, a chill vibe and good brews.
I need to take a moment to discuss Lincoln Park's fantastical tacos, but note I've only been here for these nights.
First things first: this place is going to be busy. Just know that. You'll walk-in and see lots of cool folks chatting it up at the bar, but trust me... be on a table-finding-mission. I've actually swooped tables right as people were leaving, that's how important this step is.
Once you're seated, take a minute to notice the thrifty Mexican beer prices. Yup, you're seeing clearly. Nothing is better than cheap, tasty beers to wash down the delectable tacos you're about to consume. You'll have a choice of black bean, beef or a combo of both--$1 each! Lincoln Park Pub fries up their tortillas fresh and serves their tacos up hot, medium or mild. You read that right! They put hot sauce on their tacos! Brilliant! You can order extra toppings to come with your tacos, but I like to keep it simple. If anything, I'll order a side of guac and chips, which are made from pita!
The service can be a little so-so on busy nights like Tuesday. I usually have to flag a waitress down to get their attention. But, it's a delicious food and drinks for cheap. It's packed! These people are running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I like to cut them some slack.
My next point of action is to get to LPP on a night other than Tuesday and try some of the other specials on their menu. Until then, you'll probably hear me crunchin' lots of taco-y goodness.
id give it no stars if i could...went on a thursday night...wing night w friends. Â id say there were maybe 7-8 people inside, including my two friends (who had been previously) and i.
after looking over the menu i decided to go to the bar to order a beer...i sat at the bar for 10 MINUTES WITH ONLY 3 OTHER PATRONS AT THE BAR WAITING FOR THE BARTENDER to come over. Â i would have been more accepting if it was packed but it wasn't, and when he finally came over he made up some excuse saying he didn't see me ... kind of hard to miss a 6"4' man sitting at the end of the bar, but easy to ignore when your having a conversation with other patrons! Â totally unacceptable....
once more of my friends started to show up the service became increasingly better. Â however, this was not good enough to prevent me from not leaving a tip. Â i will never step foot in this pub again.
I went for a taco Tuesday/happy hour night with some friends about a month ago, not expecting too much of a bar, and just wanting an inexpensive meal. Â We went on a weekday in the early evening, and it was moderately crowded, but not full. Â Before we received our menus, our waitress asked us if we wanted chips and salsa for the table, which we accepted. Â Unfortunately, we wrongfully assumed that these chips and salsa were complimentary, as they are at many restaurants, and did not realize that they were listed on the menu until we received our menus, after we had begun to eat them. Â After a few bites, we deemed them inedible, and left them sitting on the table.
We ordered our tacos, which were mediocre (but I didn't have a problem with that, since they were, after all, bar tacos). Â The waitress confused all of our orders, switching the quantity of tacos between two and switching the spice level of the tacos between another two. Â We didn't realize that the spiciness of the two orders had been mixed up until it was time to pay, but we mentioned the discrepancy in the quantity between the two other orders, and the waitress courteously filled the missing quantity.
When it was time to pay, and the chips and salsa were billed on one person's check, I told the waitress that we did not expect to pay for the chips and salsa when we were not familiar with the menu and didn't even eat them because they were so gross. Â She stared at me blankly, and as I asked her if she understood what I was saying, she sort of smirked and moved on. Â I know it may have been a bad day, a bad waitress, whatever, but I didn't really want to spend the energy to get the manager so I moved on, too. Â Her indifferent attitude was baffling, though. Â Even if she had apologized for the misunderstanding it would have been better than nothing.
My beer was extremely mediocre, but that was my own fault because I experimented with their cheaper selection.
I know some people really like Lincoln Pub, so I'd be willing to give it another shot if it was convenient -- I'll just try to avoid that waitress.
Lincoln Park Pub is far from a dive, especially when you gems like the Clark Bar right down the street, but the atmosphere is a little beat up. A true Tremont tradition, I would be disapointed if it wasn't. Everyone loves Tremont for its working man heritage, and thank God there are still places like Lincoln Park Pub about. The crowd veries from long time residents, to hambones on a pub crawl, to just regular yelpers looking for a $1 taco on a Tuesday night.
Review Source:Cheap food thats quick and fast. Â Cheap beer thats cold and delicious. Â This place rocks. Â Everyone talks about taco tuesdays and yes, the bean and beef tacos are great. Â However, to me, burger Wednesdays are even better. Â
On wednesdays, all their burgers (with two exceptions) are 5 bucks. Â They also let you substitute a turkey burger for any of the options if beef isn't your thing. Â I had a turkey burger covered in teryaki sauce and cheddar cheese. Â My friend had a turkey burger done patty melt style. Â Every burger comes with a generous helping of double fried fries. Â Miller lite bottles are 2 bucks. Â I paid 7.48 for a burger, fries and beer. Â Where else in Tremont can you top that?
I love the patio, its huge and completely fits the vibe of the rest of the bar. Â Not too fancy but worn and comfortable. Â The bar tenders have always taken good care of me when I've come and I've never had to wait too long for a drink.
TACO TUESDAYS! I'm a fan, went here for my first taco tuesday ($1.50 each) and I would definitely come back. Ambience is more hole-in-the-wall pub but it has a good down to earth vibe for it. Staff is friendly. Also, try the chips and salsa, instead of tortilla chips they use house pita chips-tasty and definitely richer.
Review Source:I long for Taco Tuesdays....the tacos are cheap, and so is the Mexican beer. Â The back patio is great for summer afternoons and evenings. Â Sunday afternoons are dead, but great...wing specials and attentive service.
I watched the "Bug Game" between the Tribe and the Yankees here, and it was such an awesome "Go Cleveland" kind of evening...That evening, that bar, and those people are what I think about when I think of Cleveland. Â Solid, awesome bar. Â Go there.
I came here on a Thursday night a few weeks ago, and had a pretty good time. Â My friends suggested we do dinner here, which is more like taking advantage of the specials of the day than sitting down for a true "meal." Â
My husband and his friend got the super-cheap wings ($0.30 with a six-wing minimum) and they found them pretty hearty and the sauce adequately spicy.
I opted for something a little more sandwichy, and got the "Best Grilled Cheese Ever" with Chicken. Â I definitely didn't think it was the best grilled cheese ever, but not because it didn't taste good. Â Rather, you sorta want the best grilled cheese ever to remind you, at least in some way, of the wonder-bread sandwich soaked in butter with Kraft singles oozing out the sides. Â This was more like a wannabe "gourmet" variation, on rosemary ciabatta with mozzarella and tomato pesto. Â It was good, especially with the chicken, but it wasn't..."Cruncheweesy," if ya know what I mean. Â Yeah, I totally stole that from the Taco Bell commercial.
The jukebox was my favorite part of this place. Â They seemed to have a '90s alternative thing going, making me think it might not have been a jukebox but a satellite radio station or even Pandora. Â (By the way, if I could rate Pandora on Yelp, I'd give it 10 million stars.) Â They also have Blue Moon on tap--a plus for me, given my penchant for wheat beer--but it kinda tasted funny. Â I didn't order another, despite the low price tag.
But still, when it comes to bar food and a low-key, grungy atmosphere, this place was pretty good. Â However, they don't seem to really know if they want to be a bar or a restaurant, because when we sat at a high table (I hate those, btw) near the bar, with expectant "we're going to order food" looks on our faces, we got ignored until one of us actually went up to the bar and requested menus. Â It's like, "We'll be a restaurant, but only if you beg us."
This review is for the bartender that waited on a friend and myself, the afternoon of Sunday July 19th. Â
First, I have been to this bar many times and its been decent...taco nights are good........no real complaints aside from it smelling like someone or something died in the bathrooms. Â Second, we are both bartenders and were simply amazed at how bad this bartender was. Â There was exactly 8 people sitting at the bar (including us) it was not busy at all and she was miserable and rude. Â We placed our orders of a Labatt Blue draft and the "fabulous" Bloody Mary......She poured my Labatt with basically 1/3rd foam...I'm not being nit-picky, but no joke like 2 drinks were taken out after the foam subsided. Â She then poured the bloody mary with vodka first...then poured the Tabasco Bloody Mary mix right over top.....didnt bother to stir it...just layered it. Â Then proceeded to jam her hand into a huge pickle jar and pull out 2 or 3 pickles with her fingers and drop them into the glass. Â Then came the "thats $8....no $9 dollars please"...... Â NINE DOLLARS FOR WHAT???? Â A terrible pour of a beer and quite possibly the worst bloody mary Ive ever seen.....Bartending is a SERVICE industry and she was awful.......
One of the only normal bars around Tremont. Tuesday Taco night is always one of the busiest nights. Rumor is that the building was an old funeral home. That is all that I think of when I enter the bar now. The patio is really enjoyable in the summer. The servers and bartenders are nice people. It is usually a friendly crowd that comes here. The food is decent. The taco meat is covered in hot sauce. Tastes pretty good though. They have Simpsons pinball which is always a blast to play. A good low key place to go.
Review Source:Cleveland is a lot cooler than its reputation and actually a lot cooler than the people who live there, who have a massive inferiority complex and who never seem to leave, think it is. Â Lincoln Park Pub is the kind of place that makes Cleveland cool.
It's a bar. Â As such, there are drunk people, dartboards, and bathrooms with ads over the urinals. Â But the drunk people aren't wasted, and if you come often enough, the waitresses will start hooking you up, seriously. Â I used to come every Tuesday with my roommates when I was a poor volunteer. Â That was when they had $1 tacos. Â I've heard that the tacos are now either $1.25 or $1.50. Â That's some mighty high inflation, but the tacos are OK for bar food. Â (Warning: Â They're not really tacos--they're either black beans or ground meat within folded tortillas.)
This place gets bonus points because it's in Tremont, which is really freaking cool.
when birthday festivities were supposed to conclude at an overcrowded prosperity, the majority of the group headed to lincoln park pub.
i enjoy the lincoln park pub.
i have to say, i've enjoyed prosperity before (see previous review), but last night, i took a look around at the overflowing group of people at prosperity, annoyed by people trying to be scene..oh, sorry, *seen*, and headed outside to gather the group.
the suggestion was made to head to lincoln park pub. Â a lot less crowded, people sitting around shooting the breeze, and friendly, nice bartenders. Â it's where to go to meet a big group of people and not worry about what band is popular, who's up with what and making new friends. Â
i'm glad we ended up at lincoln park pub. Â
..and when the video camera from the evening's scavenger hunt ended up in a friend's hands, i can now tell you that the men's bathroom is quite clean and presentable.
...um....yep.
and also that urinal cake does *NOT* equal birthday cake.
oh! and the taco tuesdays are one of cleveland's greatest deals around. Â and they're reallly good tacos.
Park it here when you just wanna hang...
THE UP-SIDE:
A corner-bar feel with a semi-pleasing jukebox. Â The staff is friendly, the bar food is decent and they have a pool table, darts, and a nice fireplace (on colder nights.)
THE DOWN-SIDE:
The regular "down-sides" with any corner bar. Â It's all good, but not great. Â
THE SUM-IT-UP:
A great place to just hang and drink beers with a big group of friends. Â Great place to end an evening if you're hungry after partying in some uber-hip place just prior.
