Review Source:So what can I say... I hardly never write reviews but this was a must. I have been going to Lloyd's for about 13 years having moved out of El Paso for the past 7 years and I made it a tradition to go to Lloyd's every year for the holidays, never had a problem until this past Christmas weekend. I had 2 beers and and 2 tequila shots which was for me and a friend by the way one was bought for me by a friend. When I got the check it was 47 dollars and I asked the bartender why there was 9 tequila shots on my tab if I only ordered 1, she said I ordered them and was very rude so I called the manager the manger came up and told me she backed up her bartenders and yelled at me to get out of the bar. I was so insulated, embarrassed and walked out of there thinking what the hell just happened? They must deal with a lot of drunks there I guess ( which I wasn't) but thats no excuse to treat everyone like that, she should of heard me and try to find out why I was charged for those 9 shots I am still baffled. I did not sign my receipt so I'm calling my credit card company. It's not about the money its about how I was treated... Told all my friends and family so they won't be going either. Sad I won't be going again.
Review Source:My wife has been coming to Lloyd's for about 10 years and has loved it. Until recently. Evidently there were awesome bartenders there who supplied great service and a great atmosphere. Not anymore. The few times I have been there I have had the displeasure of being served by Amber/Ashley/Whatever (she's African American - you know who you are). She is perhaps the worst bartender I've ever come across. She is rude, slow, sloppy, and looks like someone pissed on her pancakes every morning before she came to work - if that's what you call what she does. She spends all of her time at one end of the bar catering to her boyfriend (found this out from a bunch of regulars who weren't getting served either). When she does get off her ass to help someone else out, it's always with an attitude and sense of entitlement that just does not belong in a good old neighborhood bar. After posting this, I'll look for a time to contact management and let them know about the regulars they're letting walk out the door and how Lloyd's as an institution is going to be hurting VERY soon if this (female dog) is not fired. No one wants to go to a bar with friends to wait for 20 minutes on a Bud Lite and then be insulted along with the service. I know my group is moving elsewhere until the situation is remedied there. Until then Amber or whatever your name is: quit your job, find one where you don't have to interact with the public, and go see a therapist for what is obviously some deep-seeded issue regarding your worth as a human being.
Review Source:Worst bar in El Paso! Â The bartenders, on a not too busy night, were too busy drinking shots with their friends rather than serving the rest of the bar. Â After the second round and after standing in line for 20 minutes, I couldn't take it and let the two female bartenders know how bad their service was. Â I was promptly met by a bouncer and escorted to the door... then I had a glass of water thrown on me by one of the drunk bar tenders. Â Don't waste your time on this shit hole El Paso!!!!
Review Source:Went with a couple of friends after the travesty of the Miner game. This was definitely the place to lift our spirits. The atmosphere is friendly, everyone is welcoming and the service is pretty good. The wait to get a drink at the bar varies, but normally isn't long and the bartenders do come around to serve you also. Once it gets busy though, your best bet is to go up to the bar.
Apparently, Lloyd's is an institution on the Westside. My mom was telling me how her and my aunt used to go back in the day. The think I enjoyed about Lloyd's is that there literally were people of all ages there. The jukebox never stopped and the music ranged from good old Zeppelin to the more modern rock you can hear on the radio now a days.
Drinks are affordably priced and both the bartenders had a heavy pour (which of course is never a bad thing!). Lloyd's is definitely the quintessential dive bar. If you're looking for a place to go, where you can let your hair down and meet some interesting people, then Lloyd's is your bar!
At Lloyd's you definitely get more bang for your buck and you get to say that you hung out at Don Haskins old pub of choice.
