Good salsa yet a very SMALL portion of chips were given as a serving to be shared between two people. Â The food was good but not the greatest I've had for a Mexican restaurant in a very Hispanic side of town. Â The waitress was not as friendly as I would've expected it as being a hole in the wall restaurant. Â Overall, it was "decent" but not one that I would be yearning to come back to.
Review Source:Let's make this quick and to the point -
Great Food. Large portions. Great prices. Good Service. Outdated decor. Clean place. And good looking Caballeros everywhere. Although the best looking one was my date ; ) But TURN THE MUSIC DOWN - WAY TOO FRICKIN LOUD!! Â I have heard it a million times before... Yes, I know your Corazon hurts, and I am Tu Amor, and that Tu Vida will never be the same... now cut that Polka crap and let me enjoy my Carnitas Tacos! (which were sooooo good!) We will be back - I like the place, despite the acoustic assault we endured : )
One of the many reasons I love Colfax (aside from the when-darkness-falls streetside entertainment) is the diversity of random restaurants. Â
And so we walk in, and I have a delicious chicken enchilada and relleno combo for $6.95. Â The portions are large, and I had to take some home! Â If you're health conscious and want to eat no fat, don't even step in the door. Â However, if you like things smothered in cheese, come right on in. Â Fast, good service.
Yeah! I love being first to review. Know what else I love? Big fat cheesy smothered Chimichanga's for $6.95 that fill you up to the point you know you'll be burping it up for hours.
We were out for Fiftho de Mayo-naise-o, looking for a margarita - to celebrate Mexico's defeat of the evil Gringos (or whatever)... We drove East on Colfax, because eventually you'll run in to a couple of hundred zillion Mexican restaurants out there.
We randomly selected the Los Toritos 2, because it reminded us of a Tijuana Village Inn.
The place was dead empty. It was me, my gal, the waitress, and a line cook. There was a TV getting spotty reception of a Spanish station cutting in and out. She got the enchiladas. I ordered the Chimichanga.
Food was in front of us swiftly, and I must say, I was surprised. It was really pretty good. We gobbled our fill, grabbed a to-go box, and were out the door for a very reasonable price.
Decent food, very pleasant waitress, and a clean environment with good ambiance.
