Excellent beer selection, but a TERRIBLE atmosphere.

This is a perfect place if you're:

    1)  a single 46 year old balding man who wears clothes designed for high school kids.
    2)  a 185 pound "cougar" with feathered hair.
    3)  looking to pay a $10 COVER CHARGE to have your eardrums destroyed by a mediocre band.

If that's your crowd, you're gonna love it.  If you're just looking to enjoy a great beer, or an evening out with your friends... do yourself a favor and avoid this ridiculous middle-aged meat market.

Only have been once. The place was a bit hard to find since its on the other side of the strip mall from Hamilton. The night I went was fun. Good beer selection, busy but not too crowded, could talk over the music.

The lounge seems to be still trying to find its identity. Some nights it's a hip hop club, some nights it's latino night and right now it's classic rock with sports on all the big screens. My best guess is that the minuteman pizza next door is in kahoots with the bar because the food off the menu is from there.  When I come in here after 6 there is a work crowd and the music is in the background with the customers voices able to hear each other over craft beers, but on Saturday nite boy watch out; we have cover charges everywhere which is a deal-breaker in my book.

I hated the $10.00 cover with no where to sit but behind a wall.  Knock down that wall and make it all open.  Probably won't go back.

I also experienced the ridiculous Lounge 62 card left on my car.  I have serious doubts about the person who is choosing the marketing for this place.

I've been to Lounge 62 and here is my advice:
    1. You have 62 taps and a pretty good beer selection.  Why in the Hell are you NOT emphasizing that??  There is nowhere else in Gahanna with that kind of craft beer selection. Hire some bartenders who know their beer and can make good mixed drinks and put a great happy hour together.
    2. Hire someone to do your marketing who knows what he or she is doing.  You have very little social media presence, which makes it harder for people to find out about you.  Your Twitter feed hasn't been updated since last summer.  Check out any of the Lessner places or Woodlands Tavern if you want an example of doing it right.
    3. You are in Gahanna.  It's a suburb.  You aren't going to attract the existing customer base with "dress code strictly enforced" nights and crappy looking flyers.  Stop with the DJ and find some decent local musicians to perform.
    4. Make sure your service is always good, and if it's not, make it right.  Engaging your customers helps.
    5. Minuteman Pizza isn't the best food ever but if you get the other stuff right, it will matter less.

You could be a place I want to patronize.  Right now, you just aren't.

Husband got accosted by employees when he was coming out of the Goodwill a few months ago.  We're not bar goers so we declined.  This morning we wake up and they have crept into the neighborhood under the dark of night (after midnight for sure) and stuck their trashy flyers with pictures of 'women of loose virtue' all over everyone's car where young kids waiting for the school bus are seeing it.  Mine had to be peeled off of my car.  It CLEARLY says no soliciting coming into our neighborhood.  I'm not in a grocery store parking lot.  You came onto MY property and touched my car in MY driveway, I sure as heck won't be going to a bar that sinks to such junior high promotion tactics.  Get a budget and SEND the flyers out for your "dress code enforced", DJ on the patio until the wee hours to annoy any resident in a 3/4 mile radius bar and keep your porn off my car!!!

I like the place.  Wish it had more people visiting, because it is nice, clean and has a good vibe.

Lounge 62--In a strip mall between a nails spa and Minute Man pizza.  I can't say I had high hopes going into this.  The actual draw was the 62 beers on tap their website claimed and the promise of open pool tables.  There was a good selection of beers, which ranged from local favorites to exotic imports, and were reasonably priced between $2.50 and $6.00.  The pool tables were indeed empty--We were the only people using them most of the night.

We got there early, so the place wasn't overly crowded and there was a decent "late 90s" feel to the music.  The serving staff were really hit or miss.  There were some good ones, but the few bad ones were so bad to make up for any good ones.  They spent more time talking to each other than to any of the customers and we had to flag multiple servers down for silverware even though we sat at the bar.  That aside, it was a good place to play pool or shoot darts...until the DJ came on at 11.

At 11:00 on a Saturday, "Lounge 62" turns into "OMG CLUB 62!!!!!11"  I didn't catch the name of the DJ, so I'm going to just call him "DJ Clueless."  DJ Clueless pushed the limits of the bass and volume on every single speaker in that building.  He turned the volume up so high you had to scream at the person sitting next to you on the bench.  This might be alright for a club, but isn't this a lounge?  All the music changed from nostalgic 90s to an unbroken stream of Garage Band remixed quasi-contemporary pop.  We thought about asking him to lower the volume, but when we checked, DJ Clueless had his headphones on, his eyes closed, and was dancing to his own tunes, oblivious to the fact that he was the only one dancing.  DJ Clueless must really like Garage Band.  At this point we decided to leave.

If you go to Lounge 62, go early, enjoy the beer, and be sure to leave before 11.
