Great food. Great service. Giant beer selection. Great location. Lots of vegan food options. Awesome.

What a spectacular menu and rotating tap list. As a novice beer drinker, a fantastic description of each beer was much appreciated. I also loved the pairing of menu items with their draft selections.

    Vegetarian paradise!
This was a fairly regular meeting places for my friends. Their binder of beer will point you in the right direction. I always go for the seasonals. As for their food, you really can't go wrong. The last time I went, I ordered veggie reuben. DELICIOUS!

They have a great draft beer list here, but unfortunately they have pretty bad service the few times I have been here. Their food is alright... I've had a few things here, and my least favorite thing so far has been the Buffalo chx sandwich, While it was fairly decent, it was a single piece of chicken on a huge bun. It should have at least been two pieces of chicken. It was mostly flavorless, which isn't to say bad, just unimpressive.

Truthfully if you are going to Lucky's you are going there for the beer list. And it's a good one, provided you like stouts (i believe it is a rotating list, but every time i've been there the list was almost completely stouts. Good ones mind you, but that is not my personal beer preference. All in all, I'm gonna probably go back to Lucky's and enjoy myself. Just not the best pub food I've ever had.

To say I like Lucky's would be the understatement of the year (excluding, of course, anything any politician says). Not only do they have a kind and helpful staff, a wealth of fabulous beer (which rotates), but an extensive selection of excellent vegan pub food. I'm talking chickpea burgers (my obsession), seitan burgers, soy hot dogs, and a vegan turkey Reuben. Lucky's has A BINDER of beers and WANT you to sample them. L-O-V-E.

By far my very favorite spot to have dinner and a few pints with friends in the Oregon District. I have to admit, the lack of a pool table and real patio (a la Trolley Stop) are not so awesome, but then again, hitting up two places for THE IDEAL 5th STREET NIGHT is EASY, so it really doesn't make a difference. Did I mention their tons of delicious vegan items and BINDER of beer? That's all you need to know.

    Go get Lucky. Now.

Lots of beer on tap and great prices.  Had a couple appetizers; the fried pickles and their beer cheese was very good.  Bartender was very friendly.

Both the food and beer selection are great for a gastropub.  There's something for everyone.  I always find the staff friendly and attentive.

I actually found Lucky's through Yelp. I was going to a wedding right down the street and was looking for somewhere to go and get some lunch and watch the Ohio State game beforehand. Check and check. It wasn't crowded at all, probably because I assume it's more of an evening spot. We were able to walk right in and pick our own seats. Our server was very friendly and super accommodating. I got a chicken salad sandwich and sweet potato fries, which were very good. Didn't try any beers as it was pre-wedding. Overall, a good experience. If I come through Dayton again I would definitely go back.

This is one of my favorite stops to make for brunch and in the evening.

The beer menu is ever changing and has great variety - they also provide suggestions to pair food with the beer.

The food is not your typical bar food - the chili is spicy (just the way I like it), sweet potato fries (yum), steak sandwich with blue cheese (need I say more) and just recently they added these great little sliders.  They even have variety for vegans.

The staff is friendly and attentive to the needs of the customers.

I love Lucky's. It started as a place to have a couple of beers with friends, but then I discovered the food. Yum! Most menu items have a vegetarian or vegan option. I love the vegan banana bread French toast.

    Seitan wings.  'Nuff said.

Dropped by while working in the middle of nowhere for a business trip.  Googled "vegetarian" and found a listing for this place.  I drove 45 minutes mainly because they have a grill used for vegetarian items!  That, my vegetarian friends is a rarity.

This bar/restaurant seems a bit more bar-y to me, but it was great.  If it was in my hometown, I'd frequent it.  The menu was pretty expansive and the beer selection seemed good.  And there was a good crowd.  Everything from suits to hipsters.

I'm definitely a fan.  Worth checking out if you happen to be in Dayton.

I was just visiting dayton and find this cool place.  Didn't eat, just had a Beer.  Staff was helpful and friendly and so were the locals!

Went to Lucky's around 5pm this past Sat. The bar seating was full, so we grabbed a table. We sat there for over 20 minutes without a server coming over to help us. We watched the server check on the other tables around us, talk with her co-workers, play with her hair and just stand around. So we got up and left. I've been to Lucky's numerous times and most of the time I've had a bad experience. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Still haven't figured out how different bartenders charge different prices for the same beer within 15 minutes of each other. And it had nothing to do with any happy hour pricing.

Very crowded, food was so so but the chili was great. Staff was crappy. In other words, typical Oregon district..

I've never had any food at Lucky's, but I had a great experience here.
The drinks are good. The service is great. I love the decor inside.
It's a nice change from what you usually get in the Oregon District.
I'm excited to try the food here since I've read so many great reviews!

I continue to love, love, love Lucky's for their food and their service.  They have vegan options available with a good variety of ingredients, and their staff are always polite to me with respect to my super special diet.  :)
I wanted to update to add that Lucky's frequently has some sort of charity night during which a percent of their sales goes toward a charity.  Lucky's will choose the charity or local community group and puts it out on their Facebook page.  It's likely they announce the charity elsewhere, but I get the info from their status updates.
Anyway, support this deluxe business.  They are good people and have good food and good beer.

I like Lucky's. It's  great place to take a vegetarian kid or kid who won't eat meat (they have veggie dogs). Service is prompt and typically pretty friendly. Also,Lucky's is extremely inexpensive! You will spend less at lucky's than you will at Denny's:) That's saying something! Try it!

I'd heard Lucky's was vegan-friendly and wanted to give it a try. A few Saturdays ago, my husband picked me up at the airport at noon after a week out of town for work. We wanted to go somewhere to catch up over some food and some football so I suggested Lucky's. We both really enjoyed it. They had a great beer selection, which my husband loved, and a number of vegan food options, which I loved. We sat at the bar and chatted with the friendly bartender while eating and watching a game. The vegan quesadilla with soyrizo was, as I'd read here on Yelp, really good and we were glad we got it. I'm sure it'll be ordered on every subsequent visit. We both got the vegan burgers (mine was fairly bland but I'd try it again) and the sweet potato fries, which we always like. My husband had two cranberry cookies for dessert, which he said were terrific and a perfect topper to his meal. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

love this place... as long as it's not the weekend. gets a little crowded and echo-y.

This place is a bit small, but not usually overcrowded. I come for the vegan food and microbrew beers on tap.

The vegan quesadilla with soyrizo added (optional) is my favorite menu item. The quesisdillas have crispy edges and gooey vegan cheese, and a healthy portion of guacamole, as visible in the pictures.

Lucky's has become my #1 choice for dinner, simply because of this dish, which I believe comes in around $9 with the soyrizo (although I could be off a dollar either way). It's so filling that you don't really need any more food, but if you need something extra, I'd recommend the sweet potato fries, or a side salad with vegan ranch dressing, or a vegan soup, including their chili.

The veggie dogs are good but I don't like gluten-free hot dog buns, and it got lumped with the vegan bread. It's edible, but I've only gotten it once, so go figure. The "grilled cheese" also comes in a gluten-free hamburger bun, and it is awful. It's the one thing I don't recommend.

The soups are great, and they also make their own vegan burgers. The chickpea burger was really great -- savory and delicious.

They usually have vegan cookies for dessert, but their food fills me up a lot, so it hasn't been an option.

Decent but strange food menu (bologna sandwiches) their apps are ok though....definately a beer drinking spot...decent selection of taps and the bartenders are nice and always remember us....

I've been to Lucky's several times before this visit, and this would be the least impressive experience. Our server seemed bored and just didn't seem to know much about the beer menu. I truly like good beer, so when I ask a questions, it's not just a dumb girl wanting to know if my beer is going to taste like a Mich Ultra. I know hops, wheat, etc. So don't assume, especially if you are a bar that has a remarkable line up of beers, that someone like me doesn't know what I like or want. That said, based on the menu description, and no help from our server, I tried the Stone Ruination IPA- very good. I really like that Lucky's changes their beers every week, and I appreciate the "beer bible" or notebook they have describing all of their taps. I would like to see the prices on the menu as well as the serving sizes. This particular visit, I was served a smaller glass; asked why, and answered "I'm not sure. I think the alcohol content is higher." (it was 7.7%) All good, except I have been here previously, ordered beers with higher alcohol, and still served in a pint glass. Not that one answer is correct, just be consistent.

On to the food. Table next to us had food delivered and we never smelled such a stench. We almost left, it was so nasty. We asked the server what they ordered and if it was the fish and chips (which two in our party ordered and the smell was like rotten fish), that we no longer wanted it. His reply was he didn't know and his manager was gone and he couldn't take it off our order. His reply was wrong in my book, but at 9pm, no one wanted to pick a fight and we were hungry, so we said let's just wait and see what our dinner smells like when it comes. Thank goodness ours did not smell nasty like the table next to us. So the two with fish and chips actually said it was good. What I like about their F&C is that you get to pick the beer you want in the beer batter. I've never been able to tell a difference, but, it's a fun concept and I really liked them when I had them too. I'd like to try two different ones side by side and try to tell. This time I had the beer batter chicken fingers(you get to pick your beer on these too) and a side of fries. They were pretty good and they have hand cut fries- a plus with me. We've had burgers here previously and they've been good as well. Everyone who has had the sweet potato fries with the dip has loved them too.

Even with 2 stars on this visit, I will continue to come back to Lucky's. Though I'm not a vegan, they have many options on the menu, which I think is cool. They think outside the box. The first couple of times I've been here, it's been better. And the beer selection is amazing,

I'm not a huge fan of the interior; it feels like a DIY. The concept is cool, just not the execution. Seating is minimal but sufficient. Can't control the crowd, but I think when you have one obnoxious drunk screaming, bothering the rest of the place; you've got to try to do something. That was the case our evening.... I wish someone would have said at least, sit down, you're bothering the rest of the customers. Lucky's, don't slack up.... you have a good thing going.

Super friendly place with the "A-Team" of bartenders. The menu is not large but everything is very good and very reasonably priced. The feature is draft beer and Lucky's does it perfectly.

An update now that I've been here 4 times or so...   More beer on tap than I counted last time, 10 or more, plus last night they had a keg of a Bell's porter which was tasty.

I had the ham and cheese (loaded with tomato, onions, pickles) and sweet potato fries.  It was awesome.  Also, had the sweet potato fries... while not a huge sweet potato person, anything fried with salt is fantastic and these take that and run with it.

The crowd is pleasant, service good, and not too spendy - a fair amount of beers and dinner was under $30.

The quality and variety of food in the Oregon District have really improved over the years, it's gone from being a strip with nothing but bars catering to college kids to quite a few places with a nice selection of unique food offerings and a wide selection of craft beers, I was anxious to check out Lucky's for just this reason. The interior is fairly small but seating seemed pretty ample for the space, I did like the Playboy pinball machine near the back, nice touch! (even though I didn't play). Our waiter arrived pretty quickly with menus and offered us a beer menu / guide that showed what they had on tap, what they've had on tap before, and what's on deck, I really like this! Many places that serve a variety of craft beer don't have a menu for their selections and it makes it difficult to choose something that you'll like, good job Lucky's for doing this! Our beer came out in very short order, the food on the other hand was pretty slow to arrive, we really had to nurse our drinks to avoid ordering another. I ordered the steak sandwich which is a specialty of Lucky's, the first thing I noticed was that it was on what looked to be a hot dog bun, smaller than a hogie but and definitely hot dog sized. The steak was cooked like I ordered and tasted good with the blue cheese crumbles on top. The fries were average, nothing special really. My wife had the chicken salad sandwich with sweet potato fries, her comment was that everything was good but not standout good, I agreed with her. I mean, the food wasn't bad at all and the service was pretty good (food was a little slow coming out). Initially I was thinking 4 stars but I really think the 3 star A-OK is more fitting.

Love it! Great atmosphere, the food was fantastic - the steak sandwich was cooked very well, the sauce was delicious, and the french fries were fresh and hot.  There are lots of great beers on tap, too, and not just the usuals - a really interesting selection, and it sounds like they rotate on a regular basis.
The decor is really nice and gives the (on the smaller side) space a lot to look at. Very well done.
The service was great, and everyone who approached us was really friendly.
It's a great new addition to 5th Street, and is run by a well known man who's been around the service industry in Dayton for quite some time - he knows what Dayton and the Oregon district wants, and he's done it beautifully here.
