Tumbleweed Connection

I stopped in here before dinner on a recent visit to the Oregon District.  It was a beautiful evening, and we sat upstairs on the balcony overlooking the street scene.

I always try to remember to ask what's in the well when ordering a VT or GT.  In this case, I didn't and got burned by the rotgut brand.  Doh.  I should know better.

The other patrons hanging upstairs were having a good time with the bubblemakers.  We kept seeing them on our other stops through the evening.  The people, not the bubblemakers.  A friendly lot.

Overall, not a bad little dive.

I love this bar.
Something about the decor inside makes me fall in love with it.
The drinks are great, and the prices are right.
The live music is typically pretty good, too.
I have to keep reminding myself to go here more often.

I dropped by here for a live show and I enjoyed it.  I'd heard it was a biker bar but the hipsters and scenemakers are at least running neck and neck with the bikers, who seemed like a pretty tame lot.  The balcony is cool but doesn't provide much of a sight line to the stage from most of it. Nor can you see the band very well from one of the downstairs rooms, so bottom line is there's a limited amount of areas you can hang out in if you want to watch the music show.  Also, the place can get crowded especially on the weekends, and VERY loud when the bands crank up - I think this is due to the shape of the rooms being kinda narrow.  Sound isn't as good as you get at Canal Street.  Nevertheless, still had a good ol' time.
