Oh Masque...how I love thee. Let me count the ways: one drag queen, two drag queens...more drag queens!
I recently attended for my friends' mutual bachelorette party and I had a fantastic time. Being from Columbus, for whatever reason, our "scene" seems ridiculously overly pretentious (which I don't even understand)...it's like, "Bitch...you live in Ohio. Calm...the...f-ck...down". Geezus. Anyway, this was TOTALLY refreshing to me.
Everyone I encountered was nice and the women there actually look like women! Hot ones at that! Go figure that for a concept.
Now Columbus doesn't regulate their liquor like Masque did but whatever. I thought they should've been able to pour a little heavier but that's just me being accustom to Columbus' tactics.
I really think Masque needs to build one in Columbus. I loved the décor and how the club was laid out. Downstairs you could talk, be social without screaming your face off to the person sitting right next to you (which is great considering when you're yelling there is a higher chance of you accidentally having flicks of spit fly out of your mouth which isn't sexy y'all) and watch the drag shows which were pretty good. The lighting was great--especially upstairs where the dancing took place. It was dark...mysterious...sexy...with fog and great lights. How a club should be (take note Wall Street in Columbus where it's so bright in their now you can see peoples' acne from 20 feet away)!
Music was great and bar staff was super friendly. I'll definitely be back for a change of pace more often. It was great to get away, feel like I was elsewhere and meet new people. That's what life's all about, right?!
Masque--we'll meet again...soon. :D
One of the funnest bars/dance clubs I've been to. First came here with my best friend 3 years ago and occasionally I bring my girl friends around for a fun night of dancing without a plethora of creeps. Â There are two floors, the downstairs holds drag shows and the dance music is from popular music videos. Upstairs is a techno floor. Lights, fog, a small stage, and a small bar make a nice atmosphere to dance.
It is a LGBT bar. Â There is a cover charge and the drinks are average price.
I had a great time here.. It's actually the first LGBT club I have been to in Dayton (well period actually), so I don't have anything to compare it to as far as that is concerned. But as for comparison to other clubs its top notch. There are two floors that both seem to have their own vibe going on. Â There were all sorts of people there from gay to straight though.
The drinks were a little expensive, which is normal for a club I suppose. But the bartenders were very friendly, as were the bouncers. The bathrooms were clean and they even had a girl standing in there drying my hands.
All in all a great experience and one of the better clubs in the Dayton area.
