The Belle is a great place to chill. Â Tons of beer varieties and plenty of liquor. Â The staff are awesome and pour great drinks (shout out to Michael and Brian). Â Plenty to do including pool tables, pinball (the Playboy machine cheats, though), and a sweet ass old school bowling game. Â The patrons are friendly and diverse. Â All kinds of folks hang out here, so anyone from cowboys to hipsters to corporate zombies will fit in.
The only downside I see is there is no designated patio space. Â But if you smoke, they'll let you chill by the back door with your drink while you puff. Â Other than that it's a great place. Â Beautiful interior, cool staff, and always a handful of cute girls there on the weekends.
This is a nice enough kinda old-school little bar.  Basically you go here primarily to drink, as they don't have food (other than bags of chips) or live music.  If you want to eat you have to go a few blocks up the street to Brixx; if you want to hear live bands you have to go next door to Canal Street.  Southern Belle does have  a jukebox, pool and TV with limited channels, i.e. some sporting events might not be carried. Â
On the plus side, the bottled beer selection is very good, and the bar staff are nice people and snazzy dressers. Â There are big tables (again, makes me sad they don't serve bar munchies as that would be the perfect place to plop a plate of skins). Â It's a cool place for a pre-party or afterparty, especially if you're going to or coming from Canal Street, but with no food or live show it could probably only hold my attention for about 2 beers.
