Food was fresh and very tasty with a slight  customization.  I enjoyed the soup and fresh bread. Service was very attentive. On the pricy side but reflective of the food quality.

I waited until after my second visit to see if I could give them the 3rd star but I don't think I can. I like what they have done to the interior but the food and the service, especially the service, leave too much to be desired. On my first visit, a gratuity was added to my bill after they presented it to me and took my credit card so they ran my card for more than I saw on my bill but my server didn't communicate that to me or let me know why it was added without my permission considering we were a party of 2. Very underhanded and strange, do they have an issue with people not tipping here?? Just make sure you check your bill all over before you sign the receipt.

My second visit the issue was mostly a server who was too inexperienced for our party. She couldn't ever remember who ordered what, from drinks to salads to entrees. I'm sure there is some kind of server trick to writing down clues on the order pad she could try instead of shouting out what she has in her hand and waiting for someone to claim it. I wanted to try the tomahawk steak but was disappointed to find that when it arrived, it was about 25% thick gooey fat. Another diner told me that the server had warned him about the fat content but I guess she thought I wouldn't mind? The flavor of the steak was good but it was supposed to be horseradish "crusted" and instead had a thick layer of orangish horseradish icing that was not even cooked on at all but looked spread on after it was grilled. Just wasn't worth the $43 price tag in my mind. Bone-in ribeyes normally do have a lot of marbling that usually melts into the meat during the cooking process but I think diners ordering this type of steak should be warned about all the extra fat.

The service is just too inexperienced and casual for steaks costing nearly fifty dollars. Combine that with sneaky gratuities and I'm not in a rush to head back.

They start you off with a small loaf of bread with cinnamon butter.  I had the chipotle blackberry salmon with asparagus.  The salmon was nice and flaky.  The asparagus had a nice crunch.  Both were well seasoned.  I'll be going back to try some of the other dishes.

Magnolia's has become one of our favorite restaurants.  The food is wonderful with very well- balanced flavors.  The steak au poivre with the bourbon creme mushroom sauce is my husband's favorite steak anywhere.  I've had numerous dishes for lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed.

They have an adequate wine list.  We especially enjoy the Blanchard Family wines and appreciate their Peoria connection.  They use good stemware, however, the red wine is served at room temperature which is too warm.  We've discussed this with the staff and they are working on a solution.  Their cocktails are very good and they have an extensive bourbon list.

Service has been good each time we have visited.  The chef visits each table and loves to discuss food and wine.  They are continually tweaking their menu and service to meet the needs and requests of their customers.  We wish them continued success!

We had a wonderful wedge salad served with delicious homemade bread. The steaks are WONDERFUL, house-cut, and prepared to perfection. The sides are delicious, too. The wine list is extensive with a wide variety of wines. Magnolia's also specializes in Bourbons and serves over 25 kinds. Service was attentive and friendly. And the chef/owner came out of the kitchen to greet guests after the meal. It's easy to overlook Magnolia's because of the location. But the smart business crowd that was there last night knows that for an excellent dinner in a friendly location only a dummy would overlook Magnolia's. A++
