I waited until after my second visit to see if I could give them the 3rd star but I don't think I can. I like what they have done to the interior but the food and the service, especially the service, leave too much to be desired. On my first visit, a gratuity was added to my bill after they presented it to me and took my credit card so they ran my card for more than I saw on my bill but my server didn't communicate that to me or let me know why it was added without my permission considering we were a party of 2. Very underhanded and strange, do they have an issue with people not tipping here?? Just make sure you check your bill all over before you sign the receipt.
My second visit the issue was mostly a server who was too inexperienced for our party. She couldn't ever remember who ordered what, from drinks to salads to entrees. I'm sure there is some kind of server trick to writing down clues on the order pad she could try instead of shouting out what she has in her hand and waiting for someone to claim it. I wanted to try the tomahawk steak but was disappointed to find that when it arrived, it was about 25% thick gooey fat. Another diner told me that the server had warned him about the fat content but I guess she thought I wouldn't mind? The flavor of the steak was good but it was supposed to be horseradish "crusted" and instead had a thick layer of orangish horseradish icing that was not even cooked on at all but looked spread on after it was grilled. Just wasn't worth the $43 price tag in my mind. Bone-in ribeyes normally do have a lot of marbling that usually melts into the meat during the cooking process but I think diners ordering this type of steak should be warned about all the extra fat.
The service is just too inexperienced and casual for steaks costing nearly fifty dollars. Combine that with sneaky gratuities and I'm not in a rush to head back.
