Mangos is located with herrington on the bay and the herrington marina. Decent size bar area, outdoor bar near the pool club and about a 50-60 person dining area that is nicely arranged. Started with fried pickles and crab dip, both were enjoyed by the table. The fried coconut shrimp were bigger than expected and had a nice raspberry sauce. Salmon dinner and ultimate were also good. The fish sandwich left more to be decided, too dry and too much sub roll. The service was a little slow but overall we thought the experience was good.

    3 1/2*

Great location but the service is pretty scattered.  Our party had to ask for napkins and utensils, and when we did we only got 5 (we had 8 people)!

Anyway, the food is surprisingly good.   They ran out of the veggie lasagna which was a huge bummer.

Mussels - delicious with some cream sauce
Shrimp - I wasn't a huge fan, but the others loved it
    Fried pickles - ummmmm delicious!
Crab cakes - pretty good and large portion
Mozzarella balls - pretty tasty but very fried and greasy
Caprese Grinder - skip this.  The zucchini was fried to death and the menu said fresh mozzarella but we just got fried mozzarella balls in the sandwich.   Disaster!
Key Lime Pie - not the best that I've had.  Wasn't a fan of the coconut in the pie.

Food is always good. Great views of the water. Grab a girly drink, sit back, and relax!

I love Mangos! It is the perfect location. If you are a slip holder at the harbor, there is a door outside that opens into the outdoor 'cabana bar'... which is directly connected to the huge Olympic sized pool... which they provide poolside service for! Or you can enter from the street, and inside there is a bar, a dance area (packed on a TUESDAY night) and a dining room... so not only is Mangos accessible and accommodating, its delicious. The peppered tuna, the calamari, the sliders, the salads are all very good. The grapefruit crush is a tropical drink that is to die for... its a very nice environment and it's basically the only restaurant for 3 miles in any direction, so it's never really 'dead' and it's likely you'll see people you know. Oh, and if you get a little too tipsy, there is a hotel right there.

Mangoes.. Overall it gets 3 stars. And that's only because of the overall appearance of the inside NOT the food which I will give 5 STARS. When you walk in you have a bar to the left, and you have to walk across their dance floor in front if the DJ to get to the makeshift dining area, which is very nice other than the fact you are IN the dancing area practically. The dining area was nicely appointed and decorated tastefully. Had it have been in another area (which really isn't possible) I would say it was very nice. The food we had was wonderful. The Ahi Tuna was seared to perfection and drizzled with a sesame wasabi sauce. The Coconut Shrimp were fat and succulent and served with a Raspberry sauce. The Award Winning Cream of Crab Soup was packed with the fattest chunks of Blue Crab I have EVER seen in a soup. See the photo I posted! All dishes were topped with an Orchid adding to the glamour of the presentation. I will go back to try the Maryland Crab Soup, but definitely before 7 to assure we can hear each other talk over the DJ and Bar Patrons.

This place was awesome, from the mango-crab stack to the coconut shrimp...the mango addition to all the seafood dishes really makes a difference with the flavor. My only complaint is that the whole menu isn't served all day long!

This review is of the Cabana Bar at Mangos, which is the outer limit of Mangos Restaurant at Herrington Harbor South.

Yet another post Isabelle addition to Southern Maryland dockbar goodness is the Cabana Bar at Mangos. If you're a boatless peon like me, you'll need to enter through the main door of Mangos and proceed straight back to get to the Cabana Bar outside, braving karaoke singing beach goers and happy drunken dancers of band night...but it's okay...they don't bite.

Once outside, if you can muscle your way to the end of the outdoor bar itself, the view of the boats, the marsh, the ginormous pool and your fellow drinking compatriots is a nice one. BE CAREFUL of the hidden, ankle breaking step down at the middle of the bar. Everyone tries to look out for one another by pointing and going..."ooohoooOOHHOOOHHHHLOOOKOUT!" in a well meaning fashion whenever they can, but you can't count on it.

I've always had a nice vibe from this place. Everyone seems to be friendly, the crowd is an interesting mix of SoMD locals and boaters and if you're lucky, you can catch a spectacular sunset. The frequent specials on appetizers and drinks are good and cheap. The bartenders are liberal pourers and attentive, whether you're drinking their signature "Mango Mojito" (which is too sweet for me) or a simple soda...they make sure you have something in your hand and someone to chat with.

The deck space is small, but most folks are so friendly, you won't mind the crowding.

Word to the wise. If you imbibe too much and have come via land...find a ride home or book a room at the Harbor itself...the police are plentiful in the area and I don't want to read anyone's review of the Annapolis or Calvert Co. pokey.
