Two new faces behind the bar.... But where is Jessica? Maybe it was my imagination, but Manny's had a weird vibe tonight. I know it's been a couple of weeks since I've been in, but something is going on... Mannny wasn't even there. One the plus side, oysters on the half-shell were being served, which only adds to the weirdness. I hope I get to the bottom of this. Any help would be appreciated.
Review Source:Manny's has great food. I personally like the BLT if I am having a meal. We love the chips and queso for an appetizer. The queso is smooth, thick and creamy with just the right amount of spice, and the chips have a unique seasoning on top that is really tasty. I am not a big fan of spicy food, but I have heard great things about the Armadillo Eggs and the Kickers. They have great drink specials, and a Texas Hold 'Em night every Wednesday that is a lot of fun.
But what really makes Manny's special, is that on any given night of the week, you can pop into Manny's, order a sandwich or a drink, and make a new friend. Or several. It's just the kind of place this is. It's truly a place where "everybody knows your name". Places like this are getting harder and harder to find, and you can't beat the atmosphere here.
Hadn't been here in a while. Previous experiences were just so-so. Typical bar food, with a nice little bar. Friendly servers. Nice local feel. We tried again for dinner and were really impressed with the experience. Same friendly service and cozy bar. In fact we sat at the bar and were served there. We started with the serrano kickers. Bacon wrapped serrano peppers stuffed with cheese. $1.00 each. So good. Hot and smoky. I'm still trying to figure out how they got the cheese into such a tiny pepper.
We also ordered the Manny burger. It was their basic burger, but our waitress asked what we wanted on it, could add any and all ingredients for the same price. Which was $9.95, so we said "everything on it". This burger came out at least 6 inches tall. Served on Texas toast, which I skipped because it was really too flimsy for a burger this size and who eats Texas toast on such a huge burger?? Or on any burger really? But i'm not ever very interested in the bread. The burger and toppings were great. The meat was cooked medium, good flavor, but it was a little dry. But it was covered in melted cheese, with bacon  and mushrooms, so that helped. Bacon truly does make everything better. And their bacon was thick slices, perfectly fried. Have I said how much I love bacon? And that theirs is good?. OK - just making that clear. It came with their homemade chips which were so good. Salty and fried to a yummy nongreasy crunch.  It was a little pricey for a burger, but it was a pretty generously sized burger. With the chips, we split it and still couldn't finish. We drank the house pinot and cabernet, both of which were decent.
We will definitely be back. Hoping to catch them on a live music night.
my husband and i tried manny g's for the first time last friday and LOVED it! we started off with the serano kickers (amazing!) and a couple of beers (great selection!). for dinner i had the ultimate panini and soup combo which was delicious and my husband had the moutwatering cats and chips. Â we'll definitely be back...SOON! Â oh and not only was the food superb, the staff was awesome as well. Â the owner kept our 16 month old entertained almost the entire time. you just can't beat family friendly customer service like that!
Review Source:We ate breakfast at Manny G's and the food was very good and the portions were large.  The flapjacks covered the whole plate and were one of the best that I have ever had.  The biscuits are huge and are very light and flaky. Many of the  dishes had a southwestern flair.  I can't speak to lunch and dinner but I definitely recommend Manny's for breakfast!
Review Source:I love going to Manny's in the evenings for a dirty kettle one martini, fabulous armadillo eggs, and cajun meatloaf. Just be careful with the cajun meatloaf because it really is spicy (I like spicy.) Â
The patio is comfortable and cozy when you want to have a more intimate atmosphere. The friendly bar area is always full of locals. Something cool is going on almost every night - whether it is live music, or poker, or a party, wine tasting.... you name it.
I have wanted to stop into Manny G's since moving to Keller over two years ago. I finally obliged last night as I took a break from running errands to enjoy a cold beer and a burger for dinner.
I noticed as I read Yelp reviews that a couple reviewers were really down on the burger. I asked the friendly bartender what she recommends - and she immediately replied "you have to try the burger, it is great!" Hence my dilemma. Multiple negative reviews versus a bartenders hearty recommendation -- so I took a chance and ordered the burger.
First of all, with a $9.95 price tag for a 10-oz patty, my expectations are very high. Manny offers an extensive list of condiments available at no extra charge - way cool. So mine came with lettuce, tomatoes, jalapenos, pico de gallo, and lots of mustard. I was glad to have the mustard. The patty was virtually tasteless, as at least one reviewer noted. I did not note a poor texture as other reviews mentioned, but it was like eating a whole lot of nothing. I ordered mine with onion rings, which came out nicely prepared and served as the highlight of the meal.
Draft beer was nice and cold - $2.25 for a pint of Coors Light. Now that I mention it, THAT was the highlight of the meal.
So I give them two stars. It was OK, but the burger does not support the hefty price tag. The beer was cold and the service was very friendly. I might stop in again to wet my whistle, but I will take a pass on the menu next time.
I've been twice with similar results. Slightly above average service, good sandwiches and homemade chips. My wife swears by the salads and carrot cake. The highly touted Armadillo Eggs are good, but not worth $2 a pop. Quaint dining area. The gem is the tiny bar in the back. Has a very local feel, decent drink specials, 3 TVs, attentive bartender. Most likely will go back for the bar/live music rather than a p.m. meal.
Review Source:Agree with the other poster, I went here for lunch with my wife and I had the burger I got (the 'special') tasted like a frozen rubber burger, *ugh*,. she had one of the 'premium' sandwiches and really wasn't impressed and said it was greasy. Â It seems like most of the positive reviews are by those who visit the bar...alcohol always make things taste better, heh.The interior is kinda old but not in a fun way it could use some updating and food quality needs work. Wont be back.
Review Source:Hello, cougar central!!
No, but seriously. They have a sweet, cozy little full bar and good bar food. They had live music most of the times I've gone. I had lunch there once and it was good, but all the other times I've gone I was just boozin'.
It's a great atmopshere and a nice break from the chain-restaurant bars with no character.
Only downside - there are a lot of regulars and a couple of the times I've gone it seems like they don't especially love the random new people coming in. I've always met nice people there though, and I will definitely go back many more times in the future. Heck, maybe I'll be one of the regulars someday. :)
Manny Gs gets a big gold star for me. Â They found a niche market out in Keller, where locally owned breakfast establishments are a tough find.
They go all out on service and the food at breakfast will take over the table. Â Everything is home-made like what your mom would make. Â Real eggs, real buscuits, and real jump up and slap yo mamma bacon. Â The Anita Jane is my favorite! Â I'd like to see a cinnamon roll or a waffle...but the pancakes are pretty good (sometimes I've got that morning sweet tooth!)
Thanks Yelp for directing me to Manny G's in Keller!
Upon walking in there was no hostess, waitress or anyone to direct us where to go.  Is it seat yourself?  I dunno.  But  my friend and I  turned it into that!
We walked through the hallway on the left to the bar area and informed the bartender that we would be sitting in the patio. Â The patio is the real gem here! Â It's shaded and has nice furniture (rocking chairs!). Â
The bartender cam out and served us our beers (They don't have MGD 64, lame.). Â Then a man named Dan came up to us and asked us if we liked live music. Â Apparently he had been hired to play on the patio but we were the only ones sitting out there. Â he wanted to play and so he got out his guitar and played for the duration of the meal. Â He's REALLY good! Â Plus he's friendly and knows a huge amount of songs!
I ordered the burger and my friend ordered the roast beef sandwich. Â My burger way dry, in my opinion. Â Plus, they put their burgers on panini bread instead of buns. Â The roast beef sandwich was AMAZING! Â It was hot, cheesy and full of Boar's Head beef! Â The homemade chips were delicious. Â I would not go back for their burger...it was bland and I only ate half of it.
Oh! Â We ordered the jalapeno bottlecaps for an appetizer and they were delish! Â i would order those again.
I was super impressed with the atmosphere, the service, and *most* of the food. Â i will absolutely be back!
my husband and i attempted to get up early today to make it to manny g's for breakfast. we're night owls and for some reason i thought breakfast was served all day here. its not, breakfast ends at noon.
we were quickly greeted by a friendly waitress and seated. after learning that our unwillingness to get up before noon cost us sausage and eggs, we opt for some armadillo eggs, which are pickled jalapeno's stuffed with cheese then stuffed inside breakfast sausage then stuffed in biscuit dough and baked. delicious! Â the waitress was nice enough to explain how it was made if we promised to come back for breakfast. oh yeah, we will.
to be honest, i was prompted to goto manny g's not because i hear the breakfast is good, but because we saw the chef, shane, on hgtv's property virgins. so we were all into the place because we love breakfast. then the waitress starts telling us how the place is haunted by the women who owned the original home that was converted to the restaurant. hhhmmm...breakfast better be good.
I went there recently for breakfast and had a very pleasant experience. Â The servers were friendly and the food was good. Â I ordered something called the Chimistudie Eggs. Â It comes with 2 eggs cooked to order, chimistudie, refried beans, and a flour tortilla. Â I had never heard of Chimistudie and decided to try it. Â It was delicious! Â It turns out that it is a mixture of ground beef, diced potatoes, onions, and (I think) mild chiles cooked together on the grill like a hash. Â With a good sprinkling of Tabasco, I was chowing down. Â I think I'll go there again!
