We love Marie's! Â We first discovered it a couple of years ago and during our one week stay in Ft. Walton Beach, drove out to Santa Rosa Beach three times to have dinner there. My husband kept ordering off the specials menu and was thrilled every single time. I jumped around the main menu and had the sushi. Â Everything was excellent. The owners were delightful and warm.
Fast forward to this year: we are here again and returned last night for dinner. Â As we walked in the door, the owner recognized us! Â He remembered our daughter and remembered how much I love sushi! Â We felt like old friends. Plus, we had another excellent meal. Â Husband once again ordered from the specials and had the red snapper in a sauce made of avocado, lime, and hollandaise. It was outstanding. Â The sushi continues to be really solidly done; my three year old even wanted some!
We will be returning this week and in the years to come!
Contemporary American, Italian, Japanese and other cuisines. Â Not so impressed with the service or the person working the bar. Â Went there on 7/5/2013 because we couldn't get into the best of the best on Hwy 30-A. Â However, we were happy to find a sit-down establishment with a bar on that day. Â Nice of the man who was running the operation to squeeze us in. Â Food was one notch up from so-so. Â Cocktails another matter. Â Maybe there was a newbie bartender that day. Â Martinis were blah. Â Person did not have a clue on how to make a decent Old Fashion. Â Nice though that he double-shot it, so 2 Old Fashions was enough to make me say "no mas!" Â Atmosphere is funky and reminded me of an establishment trying to replicate the Red Bar atmosphere. Â Place has a long way to go to get there, as it is on the north side of 30-A with no view other than the parking lot forward, blah-blah-blah on the east and west and a noisy, dirty looking kitchen behind our table.
Review Source:Welcome to summer time in SW Florida, where the air is thick with humidity and you feel like you are floating in a surreal world. Â Marie's Bistro answered our call for brunch when other places slammed us down with ridiculous wait times. Â We had their fish special and it was really good. Â The salad was fresh and the fish was fishy. Â Sitting outside in the patio area it surprisingly was not hot at all. Â
Cheap sake! Â And she topped us off. Â I likey like.
Food was all good, service was excellent. Desserts were divine. This place is loud. Bar is in center of a hard surfaced room with hardwood floor. Musician was also playing while we were there. And although they claimed the tea was Lipton, all at table agreed there was an extra mystery ingredient not on the menu.
Review Source:AWESOME! The service was exceptional and the food was amazing!!! My boyfriend got the Glazed tuna which was super fresh and perfectly done. We also got spring roll starters, sushi and bread pudding which was also amazing!
The owner and the waitress were super nice. After wards we went for a stroll on the beach which was only 1 block away. If we lived closer it would be a regular spot for us.
Food and service were both awesome! The owner personally came by our table many times to make sure we had everything we needed. We had THREE toddlers with us and our evening our was great...thanks to the wait staff making sure they had everything they needed at all times. Â We had sushi rolls, humus, tuna, chicken, redfish, and lots of wine. Â Our bill was very reasonable. Â We will go back again before we head home!
Review Source:Not impressed. Â This restaurant had many different items but did not appear to specialize in anything. Â At our table, we had the Mediterranean grill (not impressed), chicken Parmesan (not impressed), fish tacos (not good), spicier tuna roll (average to below average) and a spring roll, which was actually very good. Â Kids chicken fingers looked four days old, were very dry and even the kids wouldn't eat them. Â Another child had Gordon's out of the box shrimp. Â The regulars singing karaoke scared us even more. Â We were hoping for fresh seafood. Â Based on our review, you may want to stick to the sushi menu as the other items were not good at all. Â Fish tacos were very bland and somewhat fishy. Â Food, based on the quality, was extremely overpriced. Â Have no problem paying for a good meal but this was not it. Â Stay away. Â Would not recommend.
Review Source:Ahhh Marie's. Quite a pleasant surprise. Especially the menu. The first thing that jumped out to me is the sushi menu. I had their Bistro roll which is shrimp temperura topped with a sort of tuna and salmon tartar on top of a creamy shrimp sauce. Also, I had their Spicy Tuna roll which was the best spicy tuna roll I've ever had. Careful though, the name lives up to it's reputation! I also had their special of the day: Amberjack Oscar which was a pan seared amberjack, locally caught of course, fillet with hollandaise and white asparagus atop a bed of mixed vegetables and rice. I was very impressed with how fresh everything tasted, even the side of veggies. This place is very stern on fresh and new homemade items. Also, they have homemade soups created daily by Marie herself! I had their Chicken Florentine and it was superb. My nephew couldn't get enough of his 2 cups after his Spaghetti, and he's only 1 years old!
The ambiance is more of an upscale, intimate dining experience in the main dining room. I've only been there at night and every time they have live music or some sort of entertainment. Oh and they have a full bar, score! Can't wait to get back!
I just had a great meal @ Marie's
Try the tuna tartar for an appetizer. They just added it. And I had the special, which was Blacken Grouper with crawfish tails. Some of the best fish I ever had. A good, spicy Cajun flavor with a little kick.
Too full for dessert, but they're all made by Marie. Give 'em a try.
