Shrimp Pasta dish is excellent! I was pleasantly surprised. Don't like the decor but I love the outside patio.

Excellent deli food, extremely good service! The server gave my kids a quarter each for the gumball machine as we were leaving!

Don't  get hung up on the "gourmet" tag - it's good food, period. We go there for breakfast & lunch. Food is consistently good, servers always friendly; place is comfy. It's obvious that the owners care about their business.

Great breakfast served all day any day you want
They now have beer and wine $5 a beer ( which I don't think is terribly overpriced but some people do apparently)
Zucchini parm roll was delicious and fresh
Nothing here is fried, which is nice
The outdoor seating is nice an dog friendly ( they even brought him a dish of water)

Went with a party of 7 adults and one child. Place was no more than 1/2 full when we got there. There was ONE waiter (for inside and out !)  In his defense he couldn't have worked harder or more efficiently but we had to wait a long time for our very simple order. Taking the order took awhile and when we gave it we asked to "rush" it because we had a two year old with us. When the food finally came it was good but the long wait would make me rethink returning. Don't go there when you're starving. Would have been nice to at least get some rolls or crackers on the table while we waited.  Kitchen may be working more on take out than in house??

I've been meaning to go here for a while and finally went for dinner.  I like the casual atmosphere and the photos from a local artist on the walls.  I ordered a margherita pie and ate half of it and asked to have it wrapped up, but the waitress accidentally threw it out.  She remedied the situation by cutting the price in half which was the right thing to do.  Will definitely return to try the French onion soup and some of their sandwiches.

The last time I wrote to Marie's, they were busy, and I realize that they're expanding: evolving, which is fine with me. All I really care about is the food, which didn't need anything-it was perfect. From the bacon cheeseburger to the breakfast pizza to the fluffy pancakes, I love it here.

    THIS IS A MUST-DO!

Just had a very disappointing lunch, after waiting 45 minutes for a corn beef sandwich and a rubin sandwich. Both sandwiches were awful. The meat was dry shredded and almost unedable ! The rubin had a lot of sour kraut but no dressing a very little cheese.
The place seemed lovely and my husband and I were looking forward to having a nice lunch.
    Never again!

    Charming place for breakfast!
Not far from Silver Lake park - so after you had a morning stroll and got you appetite going, stop at Marie's for delicious waffles, omelettes or pancakes. All freshly made and good to the last bite!

I ordered the prosciutto, chicken, and mozz pizza roll. It was pretty good, hot from the oven and a side of marinara. I thought it could of used a little bit more seasoning, something was just missing. maybe hot sauce or something. But overall it was really good, and for the price, you can't beat it!

What a pleasant surprise! We were exhausted from the gauntlet created by Superstorm Sandy and decided to try a new restaurant for delivery, especially since our old favorites were not yet up and running. With low expectations we ordered from Marie's. OMG! How good! my partner ordered a cheeseburger, thinking this would be hard to do wrong. I took the risk of ordering lasagna. both were incredibly good, in fact, VERY good! The cheeseburger came on an English Muffin, thank goodness as the hamburger itself was huge and obviously not frozen. The extra calories from a bun went instead to the juicy charbroiled tasting burger, MMMM? I had the lasagna, fresh tomato sauce, fresh cheese, juicy, flavorful layers of goodness.

Our weariness from the storm challenges were forgotten. We now will use Marie's as a staple. we did not eat inside so we can't comment on service except to say we were planning to walk over and pick up our order but the restaurant offered up delivery instead. A great mark in the column for customer service.

    Marie, we will be back!

The first thing you gotta know about this place is that I've never had a bad dish. Though I stick primarily to my usual garlic cheese sticks and homemade pizzas, with your choice of a variety of toppings, I've delved into their burgers (made as rare as you want, trust me on this), their calamari (lightly breaded and baked, letting the delicious calamari really shine), their pancakes (best I've never made), their omelets (huge)... I could go on, point by point, and not have a single bad thing to say.

The second thing you gotta know is that the staff is ridiculously nice. It helps that a friend who introduced me to the place is very familiar with the staff, but the waiters and waitresses make you feel completely at home. They're probably the best staff I've had the pleasure of being served by, and make you want to come back again, like you found a place to call your own.

The third thing you gotta know is that it's a little tucked away, so be on the lookout when you're driving.

I ordered take out from here. The girls behind the counter were very nice. Inside was not what I expected for a place in Staten Island. It looked like a "mom and pop" cafe. It's cute. I ordered the BLT with a side of potato wedges. The BLT was very good; however, they only gave me 4 potato wedges... Really? And I thought it was a little pricey considering what I got. It's close by my apartment, so I'll probably give it another try at some point.

I love the vibe of this place. My wife and I often say it feels like a place in small town Maine. Everything is very relaxed and it runs like a small family business.

As far as the food goes, breakfast cannot be beat. It is served all day and the pancakes are out of this world. The home fries are also top notch. For dinner I really enjoy their personal pizzas. The burgers are decent. I strongly suggest the garlic bread sticks topped with cheese as a appetizer.

No alcohol served here, which I like because it helps me keep the bill low. Very affordable restaurant.

Service can be a little slow at times, so arrive with a relaxed attitude and pretend you are on vacation.

I love this place for breakfast and lunch.  The French Toast and waffles are great and they serve good coffee.  I like the paninis, pizzas and salads for lunch.  The meltaway cake is amazing for dessert!  The staff is always nice, professional and customer service-oriented.  It's also nice to be able to sit outside on nice days.

I took one star away because I wish they served wine and/or mimosas for breakfast.

I'm not sure what to make of it. My relative loves this place and orders from here all the time since it's close by. I feel like it's some hipster wannabe place, at least the inside. The menu is all over the place. They have pizza, sandwichs, pasta dishes, breakfast, all which I think are overpriced and the portions are extremely small. I've only tried a few things from the menu and they were just OK. The pizza is no where near pizzeria style and is more along the line of pizza hut. Don't get me wrong, I love pizza hut so I will eat the pizza from here, but to describe the food as gourmet is overkill. IMO, this place is ok, but nothing spectacular.

I've done the impossible! I've dined in Staten Island, the land of myth and legend! And contrary to popular belief, there is proper food to be had out there. I'll be honest with you though, I didn't venture to Staten Island specifically for Marie's, but to visit a friend who was terribly ill at the time. Lucky for us, amid the barren land that is Staten Island, Marie's Gourmet was right next to his apartment.

Marie's is pretty much of a no frills restaurant. There are some paintings on the walls, but there's nothing much to them. Adjacent to the seating is a deli counter of sorts where people could order items to go. Outdoor seating is available in the summer. Yelp has Marie's labeled as an Italian restaurant, but I figure it is more American, or diner like than anything else. They do serve pasta, but that alone doesn't make it italian.

I ordered a grilled shrimp dish that came with assorted grilled vegetables during one of my visits there. Shrimp was well cooked; good grill marks on everything served. It had a nice smokey flavor to it. I do have a small gripe with how much olive oil they've dressed everything with. A tad too much for my tastes, as the dish was basically drowned in it. Other than that, it was satisfying enough.

During my many visits during that period, Marie's provided me with some stellar food. It was simple and unpretentious, which kind of reflects Staten Island in a way.

What a nice surprise! We were looking for a local place to meet up for brunch so that we could avoid ihop and perkins and found this place on yelp. We decided to give it a try and we were definitely not disappointed! Between all of us we ordered split pea soup, steak and eggs, breakfast pizza, pizza margherita, coffee, and zeppolis for dessert.  Everything was delicious and incredibly reasonably priced. The two pizzas were especially delicious and the zeppolis were awesome- you get such a huge portion! Though it was snowy today, they have a great patio outside for outdoor dining when the weather gets nicer. service was awesome- everyone was so friendly and attentive.

We're definitely coming back here for brunch when we need a new place. I think next time we may just order a big plate of zeppolis and coffee for everyone.

I love this place. I've been a fan since they first opened .The food is consistently good. The soups are homemade, the pizzas are tasty(especially the one topped  with prosciutto), the steak salad is delicious. And their desserts are from Cake Chef.

I've tried most of the items on the menu and  haven't been disappointed yet!

Maries is fantastic, the owners are friendly, prices are great and the portions are nice size. It's a cool place to go unlike a lot of places in Staten island.  I find the wait staff very attentive and an overall excellent experience. Extensive menu with take out too!

Please give it a try you will be glad you did!!!

The food is fair....expensive and small portions, and the waiters are very slow...can care less about service.  The waitress walks around with some stupid hat on her head like a rapper or gangster...has a huge attitude.  I will not go back.  This place will fall.

what a hidden gem!  tucked away in sunnyside is marie's gourmet, a  delicious and surprisingly healthy italian gourmet cuisine disguised as a pizza shop/deli.  don't get me wrong, their personal pizzas are worth the trip for lunch, as is their chicken salad sandwich.
but marie's gourmet made it a point to not just serve, but to master every meal. my breakfast favorites are the breakfast pizza, homemade waffles w/ berries and whipped cream (mmmmmm), and steak and eggs.
dinner is also impressive with homemade gnocchi, baked chicken parm (not fried!!! yay!) and a selection of fresh fishes grilled to order.  they also have great salads, choose your own greens, (no more boring obligatory iceburg salads.)
make sure to save room for espresso and zeppolies for dessert!  cozy, wooden booths made from salvaged church pews line a wall and tables are offered on the patio as weather permits. artwork of local artists covers the walls.  a great place for a casual dinner with friends!
