Pretty decent hookah lounge compared to others in Staten Island. The service isn't that bad and the music is decent. Â They have a pretty wide variety of food and drinks they offer.
Their are a few setbacks of this hookah lounge. The owner isn't very friendly and does not allow you to sit at the seats you prefer. Â They tend to open the hookah lounge according to their own timing. Also they use the chemical round coals instead of the all natural ones.
1001 Nights says they are open at 5pm everyday and close at 3am. The grade school clock sign on the window says they open at 1pm. Once I stopped by after 5pm, and they did not appear open. A guy at the salon next door says they are usually open by 7pm or 8pm. It was hard to find their hours online, and for the longest time I didn't want to travel here just to find out it was closed. It was also very difficult to find out that they even had hookah here - it's not advertised well.
Hookahs start at $10, and it's half price to change the head. Â They do use the round chemical coals instead of the natural ones. The hookah was good, not hard to pull, and they changed the coals long before they even needed to (didn't have to ask).
They do have beer and wine. They do have lots of beverages, including shakes and smoothies. They have ice cream, Italian ice, sorberts, tarts, and cakes, including cheese cakes. For food, they just have sandwiches, salads (including Greek salads), hummos, baba ghanougish, and grape leaves. The grapes leaves were very good. The hummos was great, except they could have given a little more (kinda small). The cappucino was wonderful, but let them know if you don't want whip cream because they automatically add it. They brought me free fruit on the house! They use toothpicks instead of silverware - sounds tacky, but it actually is very cute and refreshingly different.
The interior is very nice and they have very large booths that are comfortable (hard to see this feature from the pics). They were playing some kind of mix of outdated rock music, good dance music, and top 40s. I personally think they could go for a mix of good dance music and Arabic music. It was not too loud at all - you could study or read if you want. They have flat screen TVs.
They have free WiFi but only one outlet to plug in your laptop (by the window/entrance).
They are located close to CSI.
Here's how they could improve: add more outlets for laptops, add more food options, alter the music slightly, advertise, and, most importantly, have better hours (open earlier).
