Review Source:It's Zombie Land!
Hubby and I went to this place twice, I believe, due to a coupon. I suggested it to him again because it's close to home, and we have the entertainment book. He had 2 words for me, "HELL NO" which caused me to remember why.
We got sandwiches, they were ok. Nothing wrong with them, but there was only like 2 other tables eating, and people kept staring at us funny, including the waitress, like we were going to get up and start throwing chairs or something, I don't know. I certainly didn't feel welcome. It was like they'd never seen people before?
The only other time I've had this kind of experience was in Vernonia, where I used to go 4 wheeling. We'd eat at the restaurant at the bottom of the hill, and people would just stare at us the whole time. Same at the gas station. I started calling Vernonia  "Zombie Land" cause if you talked to someone, they would just stare blankly.
Luckily, they never did eat me, but it was the same at Maverick, and we won't be back, cause I'm not getting eaten by a zombie in my own neighborhood!
This place was surprisingly not bad. I only say that because it seems like it could go either way when you walk in. As, in my other reviews, I have stated, my husband I were on a quest for a regular steak place. I just pooled together some places that served steak and thought we might have a diamond in the rough in some out of the way places you don't hear people constantly talking about.
You aren't going to find a big fancy wine list here but you will find a pretty decent steak, inexpensively. We came here with no expectations. When you come in ,you have to know that you are in a neighborhood place before making snap judgments. The bar is next door to it and it has a diner feel about it. It does have dated decor, but the waitress was one of the nicest we have had. She told us everything there is homemade.
She helped us sort through the menu and told us that the steak was really good, so we ordered up. The steak was cooked how we asked. Â I like medium rare and sometimes that is lost on the cook, but this one came out exactly medium rare. The baked potato was a decent size and it came with a salad and garlic toast. Â My husband got the cajun steak and said it had a really good flavor to it. They are not trying to be fancy here, so if you are looking for something really foofoo, keep on rolling up Division St, because it isn't here but you will be leaving some good food in your rear view mirror.
Our steak dinners were under $10 each and we went back a couple of times after that for lunch or an early dinner.
They, also, have a coupon in the Entertainment guide book for 2 for 1 deal, so giving them a try could be a bargain.
